TEHRAN – A senior Iranian lawmaker has said he has a “positive” view of the tripartite summit on the Syria conflict hosted by Ankara, IRNA reported.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said the Ankara summit attended by the presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey was the second such summit following one in November in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Boroujerdi pointed to U.S. interventions in Syria, saying, “The Americans provoke and arm various groups in Syria in order to partition the country and ensure the survival of the Zionist regime in the region.”
