Iranian oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh landed in Indian capital New Delhi early on Wednesday to participate in 16th International Energy Forum (IEF).
During his daylong stay in India, he is going to meet with his Indian counterpart and also delivers speech in the ministerial meeting of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) member states.
As hosted by India, the IEF will be held in cooperation with China and South Korea in the presence of OPEC oil ministers, leaders of industry and heads of key international organizations.
“Future of Global Security of Energy” is the main topic of discussion in this edition of Forum, he maintained.
13 countries are active members of Executive Board of International Energy Forum, so that two international organizations i.e. Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and International Energy Agency (IEA) are active as observers in this Forum.
International Energy Forum is held biennially, based on which, framework of unofficial talks is specified between oil & gas producing and consuming countries on the issue affecting world energy market.
It should be noted that the prevision edition of the Forum was held in Algeria in 2016.
