TEHRAN – Iranian gymnast Mehdi Olfati secured a quota place for this year’s Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
The Iranian athlete participated at the 15th Junior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships and booked his place in YOG on Day Two of the competition.
The 15th Junior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships started in Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta on Wednesday and will finish on Saturday.
Gymnasts from 20 countries are participating in the event, which features eight competition categories for boys and six for girls.
The 2018 YOG will be held from October 6 to 18 at Parque Polideportivo Roca in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
