TEHRAN – Paykan will represent Iran at the 2018 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Kazakhstan in May.
Paykan won Iranian Volleyball Super League after defeating Tehran in three sets to lift the cup at the Khaneh Volleyball.
The Iranian team have been pitted against hosts Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam in Pool B.
Pool A consists of Thailand, Japan and China and the Philippines, Indonesia, Fiji and Sri Lanka are in Pool C.
The AVC Club Volleyball Championship is an international sports competition for club volleyball teams, currently held annually and organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation, the Asian volleyball federation.
From the year of 2004, the names of AVC Club Tournaments changed from “AVC Cup Men’s/Women’s Club Tournaments” to “Asian Men’s/Women’s Club Volleyball Championship”.
The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship with the champions qualifying for the world championship.
