Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami highlighted the continued hostilities of hegemonic powers against the Islamic Republic and said the enemy is seeking to weaken the country’s defense power.
In a speech on the sideline of a visit to the Malek-Ashtar University of Technology in the central province of Isfahan on Monday, Brigadier General Hatami pointed to the enmities of the global hegemonic system toward the Iranian nation and said the objective behind all of the hostilities is to undermine the defense power of the country’s Armed Forces.
“The enemy will never stop its enmity toward our country,” he said, adding, “The massive efforts of the enemies have been focused on weakening the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of political developments.
In September 2016, during a visit to an exhibition of the Defense Ministry’s achievements in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran has “an inalienable and absolute right” to reinforce its defensive and offensive power.
And in May 2017, Ayatollah Khamenei described enhancing “the Islamic Establishment’s deterrent power” as a grand policy that prevents international bullies from thinking about any assault against Iran.
