TEHRAN – The Islamic Republic of Iran will host the 13th edition of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Cooperation Conference.
The 13th PUIC Conference will start as of today, Saturday, January 13, 2018 with specialized and expert meetings and executive committees in session.
According the conference schedule, the permanent and specialized committees and the public committee will be held on January 13-16 with experts from 41 Islamic Countries in attendance.
The specialized and executive committees discuss issues such as political affairs and foreign relations, economic affairs and environment, human rights, women and family, legal affairs and dialogue of civilizations and religions, the Muslim women parliamentarians and the final draft of the conference. Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani will present a speech on Monday, January 15.
The opening ceremony for the 13th PUIC will be held on Tuesday, January 16 with high ranking officials and parliament speakers in attendance.
Representatives from 41 Asian and African countries will attend this conference, including 12 Parliament speakers and 9 deputy Parliament speakers along with heads of the participating delegations and envoys from Russia.
Parliament speakers from Mali, Cameroon, Afghanistan, Turkey, Lebanon, Pakistan, Iraq, Senegal, Oman, Algeria and Mauritania attend the conference.
Also Parliament representatives from Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, Sudan, Jordan, Malaysia, Morocco and Mozambique are among the members attending the 13th PUIC Conference.
The 12th PUIC Coference was held in Mali in 2017.
