TEHRAN- Iran manufactured 1,103,631 vehicles during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-Decemebr 21, 2017), with 16.1 percent rise from 950,210 cars manufactured in the same time span of the past year.
Car manufacturing also increased in the country during the ninth calendar month Azar (November 22-Decemebr 21, 2017), indicating 13.4 percent growth from the same month in the preceding year, IRIB news reported.
Iranian car makers manufactured 146,276 cars in the ninth month of this year, while the figure was 129,011 in the same month last year.
Iran manufactured 1.3 million cars in the past calendar year (ended on March 20, 2017).
The figure is hoped to reach 1.6 million by the end of the current calendar year (March 20, 2018), according to the previous Industry Minister Mohammadreza Nematzadeh.
