Iran’s FM Spokesperson Ghasemi said resistance and legitimate defense were the only possible ways to confront dominance of the occupying enemy and putting an end to the Zionist aggression.
Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks of the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29.
“Undoubtedly, Zionist plots to obliterate the Palestinian cause are doomed to failure,” he underlined.
The official went on to state that “for nearly seventy years after occupation of the Palestinian territories and establishment of a Zionist oppressive regime, the oppressed and defenseless Palestinian nation has seen nothing but oppression, intrusion, occupation, displacement, crime, killing, racial cleansing and apartheid.”
Ghasemi added that during these years, when the Palestinian people were deprived of their basic and most fundamental rights, there were few people standing beside them and hearing their righteous voice; “as a sad consequence, the occupying regime of Israel has violated all the obvious human and legal principles by continuously committing genocide, state terrorism and crimes against humanity and by openly scoffing at international peace and security.”
FM spokesman later asserted that “over the past seven decades, the Palestinian history has shown that legitimate resistance and legitimacy are the only ways to confront dominance of the occupying enemy and to end the Zionist aggression as well as occupation of the occupied territories in a bid to pave the path for return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland.
“We believe that relying on the will of Palestinian people is the only solution to the chronic crisis, and a referendum with presence of all Palestinians, including Muslims, Christians and indigenous Jews, remains a fair, legal and human strategy which is based on accepted international principles including the United Nations Charter.”
At the end of his remarks, Ghasemi pointed out that the great nation of Iran has always emphasized its solidarity with the Palestinian people on all hard days and has never stopped supporting aspirations of these oppressed people. Undoubtedly, support of the Iranian government and nation of Palestinians will continue, as before, until full victory of the Palestinian people and liberation of all occupied lands, and certainly, Zionist plots to obliterate the Palestinian cause will prove futile.
