Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani argued that if ISIL had achieved its goals, a major disaster would have occurred, adding some of the countries in the region has an ISIL-manufacturing factories.

“If ISIL had achieved its goals, a major disaster would have undoubtedly occurred,” Ali Shamkhani said in an interview with Iranian National TV Channel 2 on Tuesday night, adding upon the request of some countries in the region, we cooperated in the process and prevented this catastrophe from happening.

SNSC secretary said if western and some of Arab states of the region were not directly and clearly supporting ISIL, we could bring liberation faster and less costly, adding “there exist many documents and films showing their interventions.”

Rear Admiral Shamkhani said ISIL’s threats has not been terminated yet, because they will move to the countries where they have been created, and this process will last at least 30 years.

“Many ISIL members are from Western and Central Asian countries; after this they will return home more experienced than before and will surely create insecurity,” he added.
