TEHRAN – Iranian speed climber Reza Alipour won a gold medal in the China Open on Sunday.
Alipour, nicknamed the ‘Persian Cheetah’, won the title with a time of 5.67 seconds in the competition held in Guangzhou.
Russian Vladislav Deulin came in second place with a time of 5.89 seconds.
Meantime, Alipour dedicated his gold medal to the victims of the Iran’s earthquake.
Last Sunday, a 7.3 magnitude occurred in the western region of Iran and caused numerous human victims, mutilation and large scale destructions.
