Iran-Turkey cooperating in preserving Iraqi territorial integrity was very important, says Ali Larijani, the Iranian Parliament Speaker in his meeting with İsmail Kahraman Speaker of the Grand National Assembly on Tuesday.

The Iranian law-maker from the constituency of Qom is heading a parliamentary delegation to Turkish capital city of Ankara.

“We are doing our best to upgrade trade transactions between Iran and Turkey to a volume of more than $30 billion and it is while other countries are investing Iran and there are great capacities in areas of oil, gas, and petrochemical products in Iran,” said Ali Larijani, the Iranian Parliament Speaker, on Tuesday.

The top legislator made the remarks in his meeting with İsmail Kahraman, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

Areas of environment and tourism were also highlighted by Mr. Larijani as areas that Iran is open to cooperation and foreign investment. The law-maker reassured that investors in these areas will receive finance and funds from Iranian government.

“The ground for regional cooperation between Iran and Turkey is more paved now than before,” he said. “The fact is that trilateral cooperating between Iran, Turkey, and Russia has been very positive and this is a great accomplishment for the three countries,” Larijani asserted.

“It is clear that some cross-regional states created the ISIL, but some regional states made some mistakes,” the Iranian top law-maker stated. “However, Iran and Turkey acted responsibly and also Astana talks was a positive contribution,” added the Iranian senior figure, “the Sochi summit underway is also of primer importance and can pave the way for political settlement of many disputes.”

The Turkish legislator agreed with Mr. Larijani when it came to referendum in northern Iraq and said, “The result of KRG referendum should be ignored because the important issue is preserving the territorial integrity of Iraq.”

He also touched upon the objective of raising the volume of trade between the two countries and voiced the readiness of Turkish traders and businesspeople to increase the volume of bilateral trade between Iran and Turkey.

He hailed the latest measures undertaken to conduct bilateral business with local currencies and refereed to the document signed recently between the central banks of the two countries.
