TEHRAN – Italian art historian and critic Eleonora Frattarolo is scheduled to make a speech on the Pictorial Alphabet by Italian painter and interior designer Antonio Basoli (1774–1848) in Tehran tomorrow.
Organized by the Tehran University of Art, the session will be held at the Malek National Library and Museum Institution.
Basoli published a fantastic set of lithographs for his book “Alfabeto Pittorico” (“Pictorial Alphabet”) in Bologna in 1839. His elaborate architectural drawings of twenty-four letters of the alphabet became later known as Basoli’s Alphabet.
