TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Austria’s Sebastian Kurz, who is expected to become the European country’s chancellor, conferred on various issues in a phone conversation.
During the Saturday talks, Zarif congratulated Kurz on the victory of his party in Austria’s parliamentary elections and wished him success in his new post, the chancellor of Austria.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to enhance bilateral ties, the implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers (known as JCPOA), and other issues of mutual interest.
Kurz, for his part, underlined the need for all parties to the JCPOA to remain committed to the deal, and reaffirmed Vienna’s support for its implementation.
He also stressed that Iran should be able to reap all the benefits of the nuclear deal.
