An exhibition of exquisite Persian etching works by reputed artists is to open on November 3 at Tehran’s Mess-Negar Gallery marking the 27th anniversary of its establishment.
The group exhibit will host works by artists of different generations including Mansour Hafezparast, Akbar Bozorgian, Reza Qaderan, Reza Abed and Hossein Alaqemandan among others, ISNA reported.
Etching (metal engraving) is the art of carving designs on metals such as copper, brass, silver and gold. Isfahan Province is the center of this art in Iran.
Historical discoveries, dating back to the Sassanid (700 AD), the Seljuk (100 AD) and the Safavid (1600 AD) dynasties, indicate a few of the outstanding metal works in Iran in ancient times.
The venue located at No. 5 of Parc De Princes Complex on Northern Mollasadra St. will show the pieces until Nov. 16.
