TEHRAN – Iranian director Yaser Talebi’s film “The Descendants” received the Best Foreign Film Award at the Royal Starr Film Festival (RSFF), which was held in Royal Oak, Michigan from October 12 to 15.
The film is about Jacob, an Iranian Jewish man who leaves Iran for Sweden to find his son, Farrokh, who was in the country to continue his studies but has not been in touch with his family for a long time.
“Crystal” by Michael Sneed from the U.S. won the best film award while “Detroit Under S.T.R.E.S.S.” by American filmmaker David Van Wie was picked as best documentary at the festival.
