Iranian outside hitter Farhad Nazari Afshar will his retirement from national duty after the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup.
The 33-year-old player will be participating in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup in Japan as his last international tournament.
The tournament will bring six teams in Nagoya and Osaka namely, Japan, Iran, the U.S., Brazil, Italy and France together from September 12 to 17.
Iran will open the campaign with a match against Italy.
Nazari Afshar won the silver medal with Iran national team in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and claimed two AVC Cup gold medals in Nakhon Ratchasima (2008) and Urmia (2010).
“I think it’s time to go. I helped the team whenever they needed me. We have some young players who we think can develop,” Nazari Afshar said.
