TEHRAN – A member of Majlis Committee on Planning, Budget and Calculations says Majlis is working to impose ban on imports of unnecessary goods in order to support domestic production.
In an interview with IRAN NEWS, Hosseinali Haji Deligani said that according to the Supreme Leader’s remarks, imports of goods whose equivalents are produced domestically are haram. He added that after Majlis did not vote for the double-urgency bill on imposing ban on imports of foreign goods, Majlis approved the single urgency.
He added that the bill is under study in the committee and it will be discussed in Majlis session soon.
Haji Deligani added that according to the bill, the government is assigned to check all goods which can be imported every six months and it issues license for their imports based on the need of the market.
He noted that the government has rejected imports of 800 unnecessary goods, adding that if the committee finishes its review and study soon, the problem for imports of unnecessary goods will be solved soon,.
