TEHRAN – Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri in a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa stressed the need to apply all available facilities to help Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar as soon as possible.
The two sides talked about areas of cooperation between the armed forces of Iran and Pakistan, as well as the issue of Myanmar’s displaced Muslims.
Accordingly, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with recent positive efforts by the two countries’ armed forces to ensure the security of the borders.
Describing as insufficient measures to help the displaced people in Myanmar, Bagheri and Bajwa also insisted on the need for more engagement of the Muslim world to end the inhumane situation imposed on the Muslim people of Myanmar.
Iranian and Pakistani officials noted the possibility of benefitting from the relief and humanitarian assistance of all military and civilian organizations in Islamic countries, and called for the applying of all available facilities to help the oppressed Muslims of Myanmar as soon as possible.
