Raisi, who was scheduled to visit Zanjan on Friday for a two-day visit, arrived in the province early on Saturday morning and told reporters that his visit was postponed due to an emergency visit to Kerman Province to pay tribute to the martyrs of the terrorist attack in the mentioned city.

During his trip to Zanjan, the president met and held talks with different classes of people and communities and inaugurated some water, energy, industrial, infrastructure and construction projects.

Raisi inaugurated nine major water projects with a total investment of 44.43 trillion rials (about $88.8 million) in the province. The projects included a dam, a water treatment project, and several water and wastewater projects.

Also, 54 gas projects with a credit of 1.302 trillion rials (about $2.6 million), including gas supply to 7,639 units of the National Housing Movement projects in the city of Zanjan, gas supply to eight villages and gas supply to 45 industrial units, were inaugurated on Friday prior to the president’s trip to the province.

Three electricity projects with an investment amounting to 1.408 trillion rials (about $2.8 million), including the installation of smart electricity meters across the province and reducing urban and rural electricity losses and electricity supply to 20 villages in Zanjan, were also among the inaugurated projects.

Raisi also inaugurated six road construction projects worth 13.65 trillion rials (about $27.3 million), including new main roads and the improvement and asphalt coating of existing roads, as well as some highways.

The president also inaugurated three housing projects, 517 rural development projects , numerous educational, cultural and sport projects, as well as several health and medical-related projects across the province.

This was President Raisi’s second visit to the province since the beginning of his administration.

TEHRAN – In a meeting between Bangladesh Ambassador to Tehran Gousal Azam Sarker and Zanjan Province Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mine and Agriculture, both sides explored ways for economic cooperation.

During the meeting, Head of Zanjan Chamber of Commerce Mr. Ali Yeganefar said that there are several common fields for cooperation and both parties are determined to expand cooperation in different fields.

He said tourism, agriculture, apparel and IT are of the major fields for joint cooperation between Bangladesh and Zanjan Province and announced the chamber will pursue all fields for cooperation with Bangladesh to operationalize them.

He pointed to the capacities of Zanjan Province in fields like agriculture, handicrafts, textile, medicine, health tourism, science, university and science and technology parks and called for involvement of Zanjani traders for stepping into foreign trade with Bangladesh.

Yeganefar added that with identification of capacities and capabilities, both sides can launch bilateral cooperation between traders of Zanjan and Bangladesh.

He added that concentration of business activists of Zanjan on potentials of Bangladesh can be an effective step in the roadmap of foreign trade of the province.

He reiterated that the chamber will study the raised issues in the meeting in order to operationalize them through cooperation with Bangladesh Embassy.

Meanwhile Bangladesh Ambassador Mr. Azam Sarker, for his part, pointed to the presence of Iranian students in Bangladesh universities and Bangla students in Iranian universities and called for facilitating the bilateral scientific and academic relations.

He also pointed to the deployment of science and technology parks in Zanjan and Bangladesh, saying that it is necessary that all Bangladeshi and Zanjani researchers to have a close relations for developing ties in all economic spheres especially in IT, agro and academic sectors.

Sarker added that Bangladesh Embassy will do its best for restoring and developing the link between Zanjan Province and Bangladesh, stipulating that both sides should clarify and determine the fields for bilateral investment and cooperation in order that they could be operationalized.

TEHRAN – Iran has recorded its highest number of deaths from COVID-19 within a 24-hour period, Health Ministry figures showed on Tuesday.

The 200 deaths reported on Tuesday exceed the previous record from Sunday, when the ministry reported 163 deaths in a day.

The Islamic Republic has recorded a total of 11,931 deaths and 245,688 infections from the coronavirus, ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said in a statement on state TV.

Speaking at a presser on Tuesday about the latest data on the Coronavirus, Sima Sadat Lari said, “According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to today July 07 in the country, 2,637 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed and the number of patients with the disease reached 245,688.”

“1,455 of the new patients were hospitalized,” Lari said.

“Fortunately, 207,000 patients have recovered and discharged so far,” She said.

The Spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 200 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 11,931.”

The official stated: “3,270 patients are in intensive care units.”

“So far, around 1,846,793 COVID-19 diagnostic tests have been conducted in the country,” the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khorasan Razavi, East, and West Azerbaijan and Ilam are in a critical situation (Red Status).

The others such as Tehran, Fars, Mazandaran, Hamedan, Zanjan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Alborz are on alert.

Meanwhile yesterday Health Minister Saeed Namaki warned, “Coronavirus is one of the most dangerous and unknown viruses that have entered the human societies, and none of the world’s top virologists have predicted its future.”

Namaki said, “Due to the sanctions and many problems in the country’s economic situation, in the first phase of the disease, we had a difficult period and huge problems, thus with the help of all the people, non-governmental organizations and the sacrifices of the medical staff, we were able to create a great achievement. Death tolls reached about 30 people a day, and we were moving toward single digits mortality.”

“I have said many times that we are playing chess with an unknown virus and normalization of the situation and this delusion that the Coronavirus is over is one of the most dangerous ideas,” Saeed Namaki told reporters, adding: “A new wave has engulfed us in very important and border provinces, West Azerbaijan, Ilam, Khuzestan, Bushehr, Sistan- Baluchistan were affected.”

The Minister of Health said, “Today, we have reached a more favorable situation in provinces such as Kurdistan, Khuzestan, Bushehr, and Kermanshah, but it still does not mean that we have overcome the disease.”

“Wearing a mask and keeping social distancing can make us more than 80 percent immune against Coronavirus. We have to take social distancing seriously and not travel,”

Namaki called on all people to continue to fully and carefully implement health protocols in order to prevent the re-outbreak of the disease.

Warning that elderly people are more vulnerable to the COVID-19, the Health Minister reiterated that it is wrong to think that going to a party and leaving grandparents at home will keep them away and safe from the virus because when their grandchildren return from the party, they transmit the virus.

One of the top jihadi managers of Zanjan Provinc, addressing the inaugural ceremony, said that Shayanir Sanat Artan Company “Garmsan” has started its activities with only one primary heating system since 11 years ago and it has increased its products to 18 different products under Garmsan cooling and heating brands.

Mr. Hossein Babaei went on to say that currently 700 to 800 projects for equipping sports halls, greenhouses and chicken coops or industrial sheds with cooling or heating systems are underway.

The CEO of the company added that products of the company are exported to Iraq, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, adding that the company’s heating and cooling brands are exported to more than 30 countries.

Babaei went on to say that the CIS and Persian Gulf states as well as Arab African countries are future targets for the company’s exports.

He reiterated that building such laboratories is a big step towards boosting and standardizing the quality of the products.

He noted that the company is working to get national and European standard certificates for its products.

He asserted that the company’s annual financial balance is around 25b tomans. He went on to say that during the sanctions era, the number of products of the company moved from 2 to 18 products.

Babaei was also honored as one of the top jihadi managers of the province on the sidelines of the ceremony.

Meanwhile head of board of directors of the company Mr. Ali Ahmadi, who is also one of the jihadi managers of Zanjan Province, said that sanctions can be a good chance to turn them to opportunities and all entrepreneurs and producers can enter the scene.

Ahmadi reiterated that a good product can penetrate into any market and producers should work on export markets.

He asserted that the local market is thirsty of home-made products and producers should take advantage of it.

Meanwhile head of public relations of the company Mr. Majid Talimi expressed hope that such achievements would continue in the future as the company is working to produce new high quality products.
