In a Thursday meeting in Uganda, the officials of the two countries discussed issues such as the status of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and bilateral ties.

President Museveni said that they are closely following JCPOA developments and expressed hope that efforts to save the pact would be successful.

US policies and unilateral decisions are unacceptable, he said, adding that all countries, especially major powers, should enhance cooperation to reinforce multilateralism.

Extending greeting to his Iranian counterpart, Ugandan president said that his country is ready to further boost bilateral ties with Iran in all domains.

For his part, Sarmadi spelled out US unilateral moves and their dangers for world peace and security.

He urged all independent countries to adopt a unanimous stance against these irrational policies and measures.

Rouhani’s special envoy further expressed hope that the JCPOA’s remaining signatories would offer a comprehensive package which can safeguard Iran’s national interests.
