According To Iran News, Iran’s National Olympic Committee President Reza Salehi Amiri and Sports Minister Masoud Soltanifar attended the opening ceremony of the Winter Youth Olympic Games at 2020 Thursday night.

Around 1,900 athletes from more than 80 countries are in Lausanne, Switzerland to compete in 81 medal events in 16 disciplines across eight main sports.

Iran has sent six athletes to the competition.

“You are the children of Islamic Republic of Iran and it’s a great chance to compete at the prestigious event. You are the next generation of the country and gain experience by taking part in the competition,” Salehi Amiri told the Iranian participants.
