										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) –  A large group of Iranian children has been honored with awards at the 4th edition of the Piatra Neamt Creative International Art Competition for Children in Romania.</p>
<p>All the children are members of various branches of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) across Iran, the institute announced on Sunday.</p>
<p>Kowsar Rezai, Ali Tamoradi, Maryam Yazdani, Danial Rezai and Reyhaneh Alizadeh received gold medals.</p>
<p>Anida Heidari, Diana Veisi, Reza Geravandi, Melika Amjadian, Kiarash Samimitabar, Ailin Saripur and Amir-Hossein Karimi won silver medals.</p>
<p>The competition also awarded honorable mentions to Mohammadreza Masudinia, Parnaz Gudarzi, Nahal Dideban, Nazanin Sadati, Ava Jelviani, Anahid Amuzesh and Hasti Zanganeh.</p>
<p>Zohreh Shamlufard, an IIDCYA worker at the Department for International Affairs, was also honored for the efforts she made to send the children’s works to the competition.</p>
<p>“Your Hometown/City/Village” and “Flowers” were the themes of the competition.</p>
<p>Romania’s Cultural Association of Arts and the organizers of the contest held an exhibition of winning works and a selection of submissions at the central library of Piatra-Neamt.</p>
<p>The exhibition brought together artistic creations from children and young people aged 5-19, who were carefully selected from over 1600 submissions received from 41 schools, high schools and clubs in 19 countries, including Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Iran and the UK.</p>
<p>School 1955 in Russia, Simply Art in Hong Kong and Bannadokmai Art School in Thailand were the winners of the grand prizes of the contest.</p>
<p>Fifteen schools were awarded gold medals, and fourteen schools were nominated for a silver medal for their collections of exceptional works submitted to the competition. All participating schools and clubs also received participation diplomas.</p>
<p>Also, 21 students won the Grand Prize for Individual Work for the original and creative works sent to the competition.</p>
<p>In addition, 93 students were awarded gold medals, and another 57 children received silver medals for their outstanding paintings.</p>

<p>Iran’s Focus Photo Club organizes the competition annually with the help of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP).</p>
<p>In the Open Monochrome category, the PSA Gold Medal was awarded to M. Yousuf Tushar from Bangladesh for his photo “Journey for Lives”.</p>
<p>Jamshid Farajvand-Farda won the FIAP Gold Medal for his photo “Peace”, while Australian photographer Yongxiong Ling received the Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal for “Going Home”.</p>
<p>The PSA Gold Medal in the Open Color section went to Alexander Zelinskiy from Russia for his photo “Di Liman”.</p>
<p>Ajar Setiadi from Indonesia won the Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal for his “A Pair of Birds”, and the FIAP Gold Medal was awarded to Paolo Stuppazzoni from Italy for “Vibe in Rosso”.</p>
<p>In the City category, Jasmina Gorjanski from Croatia won the PSA Gold Medal for “Freezing in the City Center”, and the FIAP Gold Medal went to David Sadler from Scotland for “Outside Dhaka New Market”.</p>
<p>The Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal of this section was given to Spanish photographer Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz for “Niemeyer Colors”.</p>
<p>The FIAP Gold Medal in the Conceptual Photography section was awarded to Iranian photographer Qasem Sahrai for his “Revive a Life”.</p>
<p>Mohammad Rezai from Iran also won the PSA Gold Medal in this category for “Seize”, and Hesameddin Baqeri-Kaffash’s “Alone” received the Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal.</p>
<p>Chinese photographer Xingzhi Yan’s “Funeral in the Snowstorm” was honored with the FIAP Gold Medal in the Travel category.</p>
<p>The PSA Gold Medal of this section went to Vladimir Karamazov from Bulgaria for “The Hand of the Sun”, and Iranian photographer Mostafa Bidokhti’s “Ancient Lake” won Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal.</p>
<p>In the Minimalist Photography section, the FIAP Gold Medal was awarded to Iranian photographer Amin Fayazi for his “!Footprint”, while the PSA Gold Medal went to Franco Rubini from Italy for “Intimacy”.</p>
<p>Irish photographer Catherine Bushe’s photo “The White House Cat” won the Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal.</p>
<p><strong>Photo: “A Pair of Birds” by Indonesian photographer Ajar Setiadi won the Kamal-ol-Molk Gold Medal of the Open Color section at the 8th Khayyam International Exhibition of Photography in Iran.</strong></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) –  The 12th Farabi International Award (FIA) on the Humanities and Islamic Studies announced 37 winners during the closing ceremony held on Sunday.</p>
<p>Some 37 domestic and foreign winners from Germany, Afghanistan, Italy, Belgium, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Russia were introduced and honored in the ceremony including the owners of 11 works in the Adult section, eight works in the Young section, seven selected figures in the Foreign section (Iranian Studies and Islamic Studies).</p>
<p>Also, 11 selected figures in the other sections including pioneer scholars in the Humanities and Islamic Studies, pioneer personalities of Humanities and Islamic Studies (Deceased), one top translator, one top theorist, one top Scientific Journal, and one top scientific association.</p>
<p>Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19, the closing ceremony was held virtually and only in the presence of a limited number of domestic winners in compliance with health protocols.</p>
<p>Held annually, the Farabi International Award purpose is specified in both theoretical and applied fields, the Award has been organizationally defined in a way that enables it to receive the highest amount of support from research and educational organizations active in the field of Humanities.</p>
<p>In addition to that, all scientific and research seminaries and universities were invited to participate in the Award’s policy-making process, making up a comprehensive effort and collective action to identify and appreciate the selected works of Islamic Humanities.</p>
<p>The Award receives, reviews, and chooses the selected works at the two young (under 35 years) and adult levels and, in terms of territory, covers both domestic and foreign areas. Where the domestic area is concerned, all the works produced by Iranians, regardless of their current location and profession, are considered.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) – Iran’s top photojournalists of the year were honored at the Fifth Iran Press Photo Awards on Friday.</p>
<p>They received their awards during a special ceremony held at the IIDCYA Open-Air Cinema in Tehran.</p>
<p>Majid Khahi received the Best Single Photo Award in the Contemporary Issues category, while Fatemeh Abedi won the Best Photo Series Award in this section.</p>
<p>Abedi received the award for his story “A House with Double Ceilings” depicting a 67-year-old couple who live a boring life separately in a house after their retirement. They each spend all days with their own favorite hobbies without any dialogue or relationship.</p>
<p>“Lack of any plan for retirement years has caused damage to their marriage and mental health, and they are absolutely indifferent to each other,” Abedi told the Persian service of IRNA.</p>
<p>In the news photo category, the Best Single Photo Award went to Mahshad Jalalian, and the Best Photo Series Award was given to Amin Nazari.</p>
<p>Nazeri won the award for his collection depicting the health workers’ struggle in fighting against COVID-19.</p>
<p>Ahmad Zohrabi won the Best Single Photo Award in the Environment category, and Zohreh Sabbaghnejad received the Best Photo Series Award.</p>
<p>A collection by Armin Karami won the award in the Portrait Section. A single portrait by Hamed Malekpur also received an award in this section.</p>
<p>The Best Single Photo in the Sports Section was given to Aria Jafari, and a series by Fereshteh Eslahi was also awarded in this section.</p>
<p>The award in the Multimedia category went to Moahmmadreza Abbasi.</p>
<p>Maryam Kazemzadeh, Sassan Moayyedi, Alireza Abedi and Saeid Sadeqi were honored for their lifetime achievements at the ceremony, which was attended by Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Mohammad Khodadi and a group of cultural figures.</p>
<p>The Iran Press Photo Awards is organized by the Iranian Photojournalists Association.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary"> “Exodus”, Bahman Kiarostami’s latest documentary that studies the return of undocumented Afghan migrants from Iran following the deep recession facing the country, was selected as best feature-length documentary in the international competition of the 12th Cinéma Vérité festival, the organizers announced on Sunday.</p>
<p>“I just came on stage to express my thanks for your participation, especially for the guests coming from other countries,” director of the festival, Mohammad-Mehdi Tabatabainejad, said during the closing ceremony of Iran’s major documentary film festival at Tehran’s Andisheh Hall.</p>
<p>The special jury award in the feature-length category went to “Alicia” by Dutch filmmaker Maasja Ooms. It tells the heartrending story of Alicia, who is removed from her home when she was just a year old and is placed in an orphanage.</p>
<p>“Lulu: The Pearl Boxer” by Tanzanian filmmaker Asimwe John Bibagamba received the special jury award in the medium-length and short documentary sections.</p>
<p>“Shouting at the Wind”, the story of a teenage boy who lives along with his family in the slums of Tehran and dreams of becoming a singer, won the award for best medium-length documentary.</p>
<p>The award for best director was presented to Farah Zare’ for her short documentary “Mahiak” about a young woman who plans to marry, but her strange skin problem thwarts her plan.</p>
<p>Winners in the national competition were also honored at the ceremony.</p>
<p>“A House for You”, produced by Mehdi Shahmohammadi about a young bankrupt person who makes new decisions after he is diagnosed with an advanced cancer, was picked as best documentary.</p>

<p>he audience award went to “In the Realm of the Spider-tailed Viper” by Fat’hollah Amiri about the spider-tailed viper that lives in the western Iranian province of Ilam.</p>
<p>In addition, Hossein Torabi, the director of the acclaimed documentary “For Freedom” about the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and Manuchehr Moshiri, who is famous for his social and biographical documentary films, were honored with lifetime achievement awards.</p>
