The latest mass shooting in the U.S. reflects the same culture of violence and terror Washington spreads around the world.

Ten people have been killed and at least 10 others injured in the attack which happened in the city of Monterey Park, California. Police entered a white van after hearing a gunshot and found a body inside, which officials later identified as the suspect.

This is by far the deadliest mass shooting in America since 19 young children and two teachers were murdered at a primary school in Uvalde, Texas, last year in May. However, it is nowhere near the only mass shooting the country has witnessed so early in 2023.

According to the Washington-based Gun Violence Archive, one of the most prominent monitoring groups for shooting incidents in the United States, the latest attack on American civilians is the 33rd mass shooting on U.S. soil already this year.

It adds to the record rising number of gun violence that have made the headlines over the past few years. Reports say a day in the United States where a mass shooting attack occurs is now more likely than a day without one.

The U.S. is the only country in the world where there are more firearms in the hands of the public than the number of citizens.

Over the years many of the mass shootings have occurred with the attackers using military style rifles.

This isn’t the sole reason for the rise in mass shootings incidents, but it does reflect the culture of U.S. military adventurism and violence abroad. The results of which are being closely viewed back home, with Hollywood playing a major role with its vast war movies, which include Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Advocates of tighter gun control regulations say this is having a destructive role on teenagers and younger adults. Perhaps not surprisingly, there has been a rise in shooting attacks among these younger age levels.

U.S. police say they believe the gunman in the latest mass shooting used a semi-automatic weapon to murder and maim, adding that the rifle was likely to have been obtained illegally.

The United States was built on a culture of violence, fear and terror that began from its founding until this day. These tragic features are found today both inside the country and within its militaristic foreign policy.

But there are other factors at play as well.

Powerful gun lobby groups are transferring a lot of money from their bank accounts to the pockets of lawmakers in the U.S. Congress.

These lobby groups overwhelmingly support laws that would keep weapons in the hands of the American public.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) is the most powerful lobby group in the divisive issue of U.S. gun control. It plays the biggest role in Congress and is preventing any real legislation from being passed in Congress that can control the deadly shooting epidemic.

Despite the record number of shootings, these lobby groups or politicians are not being held accountable for their role in the gun-related violence.

This is a clear indication of just how insecure U.S. citizens feel in their own country amid a police force that discriminates between black and white Americans.

The mass shooting has prompted another round of loud calls for tighter gun control laws, particularly over automatic and semi-automatic weapons, which are designed to kill, but these calls like the many before them, will fall on deaf ears.

The amount of weapons Washington sells internationally, under the pretext of bringing peace, has led to instability and chaos in different parts of the world. Add to that the many wars the U.S. has waged or instigated.

It is a matter of major debate that consecutive U.S. administrations have failed to protect or bring peace to their own citizens back home.

Last year, gun violence surged in many communities across America, as overall death rates from firearms rose to their highest level not seen in almost three decades. The year 2022 saw a near-record number of mass casualty shooting incidents, including several that had been motivated by hate speech online and by politicians.

The U.S. experienced more than 600 mass shootings in 2022. That is nearly double the number recorded four years ago when there were 336, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Mass shootings are widely defined as an attack in which four or more people are shot or killed, not including the shooter.

While mass shootings grab news headlines, they account for a small percentage of the more than 40,000 U.S. gun deaths recorded in 2022, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

The changing legal landscape for firearms comes as gun ownership continues to expand in the United States.

In 2020, American gun makers produced more than 11 million firearms. That is nearly three times the number that was manufactured in 2000, according to a report by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

This is while a survey by the non-partisan Small Arms Survey estimated the U.S. had about 400 million firearms in 2018, which spelled the beginning of the grim statistic of more guns in America than the country’s population.

As the number of firearms grows, the U.S. remains paralyzed by the highest rate of gun deaths among all the advanced and industrialized nations.

More American children and teenagers have been killed or injured by gunfire in 2022 than in any year since records began

Guns are the number one cause of death for children in America, surpassing roadside vehicle deaths.

To be precise there were 641 mass shootings in 2022 with 1,637 children and teenagers shot dead in the same year.

Here are just three of the mass killings that made the international and mainstream U.S. media headlines last year.

A supermarket in Buffalo with a racist motive on 14 May killed ten people.

10 KILLED

A school in Uvalde on 24 May

21 KILLED, including 19 kids and 2 teachers.

A parade in Highland Park on 4 July

7 KILLED

Apart from these three horror and terrorist attacks, there were so many more that the public did not even hear about.

In just two weeks alone, an unprecedented number of over two thousand shootings took place across the country with 863 people killed and 1,736 others injured.

In essence, there are just a fraction of America’s shootings that now make the headlines. The fact of the matter is that, such is the vast extent that gun violence is now flooding the country, many of the mass shootings do not receive the media attention anymore that they really deserve (with the possible exception of local media).

Shooting attacks is an American reality which now so often feels tragically normal for the U.S. establishment.

The other reality is that these attacks are terrorist attacks, especially considering more mass shootings have a racist motive behind them and aim to terrorize an entire community.

Yet, U.S. authorities are not labelling them as such in an attempt to portray the country as a safe and secure place for people to live and invest. Experts say the opposite is the truth.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –For couple of weeks the Islamic Republic of Iran has been challenging with some unrests and better to say with riots which has been triggered by a simple accident and unfortunately it has been spread through the enemies’ propagation and this bitter incident makes us ask this question who benefits the current condition and violence in the country.

Iranian people mostly support the Islamic Revolution and of course some want some reforms in the system but they are not ready to clash with the system because of the country’s integrity and respecting the majority but unfortunately few people have fallen in the trap of the enemies or they are themselves enemies of the Islamic Revolution and have begun damaging the country and they will be undoubtedly stopped by the nation and security forces soon. But this vicious violence which has been triggered and fanned by the enemies is just in favor of enemies and not of the people, and people should not follow this wrong road which will harm the country no matter they are pro-government or not because enemies make most of it to slow down progresses in Iran.

The West has started its propaganda war and tried to magnify any incident in the country to encourage other countries for punishing Tehran while the West itself is the main violator of human rights in the world and there are many samples for this claim.

Now a high-ranking official is New York to fight with this misinformation and propaganda war and he has started it with logical remarks in New York in condemning the riots in the country and support of the West.

Iran’s top human rights official said the Islamic Republic will not allow the “false and hostile” narrative of the United States and western governments regarding recent riots in Iran to divert the attention of the other world countries.

Kazem Gharibabadi, secretary of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights, made the remark upon his arrival in New York to participate in the meetings of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly and to hold bilateral and multilateral consultations with various judicial heads of states.

“Regretfully, nowadays, [the issue of] human rights is politicized more than ever before. We are witnessing that the countries which consider themselves the flagbearer of rights advocacy, specifically the United States and some Western countries, blatantly violate human rights in their own territories or in other countries,” Gharibabadi told reporters in New York.

“These countries have no jurisdiction whatsoever from our point of view to be a flagbearer in the field of human rights.”

Pointing to the recent western-provoked unrest in Iran after the death of a young Iranian woman of Kurdish descent in the capital Tehran, Gharibabadi said, “Recently, following the riots that took place inside Iran, these countries have again voiced their support for the human rights of the Iranian people.”

The top Iranian rights official stressed that the purported support comes as “thousands of our innocent people lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic due to the lack of vaccine and medicine at the beginning of the disease over illegal, cruel and unilateral sanctions and lack of money transfer through financial channels.”

Gharibabadi added that the Islamic Republic has 17,000 terror victims by the same terrorists currently living in European countries and the U.S., residing in the “safe haven of the West.”

He noted that, “We are in New York…to present a correct narrative of the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the recent riots and the destructive role of some countries to authorities, and not allow the false and hostile narrative of the Western countries and the United States to distract the minds of the world countries.”

The official said 40 security forces were killed by rioters during the recent unrest, and more than 1,200 facilities, cars, motorcycles, public and emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, were set on fire and destroyed.

Gharibabadi also said over 80 people affiliated with various Kurdish terrorist groups and more than five people linked to Daesh have been arrested.

He noted that the Iranian Judiciary will refer to law and evidence for passing judgment on the detained rioters and that, “Our judicial system will have a very fair treatment” toward them.

Of course this is not the first time such riots happen in Iran and the West and hostile countries support the unrests and each time riots are quelled and people realize that this is the West which benefits the unrests in the country and for this reason they retreat but the West still continues condemning Tehran for its defensive act against the unrests and to defend innocent people against the violence.

The West should know this point that Iranians know who are the main winner of violence in the country and those rioters who have been deceived by the enemies’ propagation machine will soon realize the fact and will stop violence and everything will become normal and of course these unrests unfortunately inflict damages on the country and even to the nation who have suffered in these weeks.

The West should know that it can deceive just few people in the country but majority are wise and supporter of the Islamic System and they will not turn against this system which has been established by their own votes and hands m and what the West tries to achieve will never happen as a proverb says: The cat dreams of mice.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Taliban seize key district on outskirts of Afghan capital despite ceasefire . The Taliban militant group has captured a key district in Afghanistan’s central province of Wardak, despite the announcement of a three-day ceasefire for the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The militants seized the Nerkh district, located around 40 kilometers from the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Tuesday, pushing government forces out.

Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said on Wednesday that security and defense forces had made “a tactical retreat” from the district center, after a heavy firefight with the Taliban militants.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed in a post on Twitter that the militants had killed and captured some members of the Afghan security forces, adding that they had seized the police headquarters and an army base in the district, as well as a large cache of ammunition.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that it would launch an offensive to win back the district, which is home to more than 60,000 people.

“Commando reinforcements are on their way,” Fawad Aman, a spokesman for the Afghan Defense Ministry, said.

The seizure of Nerkh, which has long been used by the militants as a gateway to reach Kabul and launch deadly attacks, comes amid a surge in violence in war-ravaged Afghanistan. The country has witnessed a sharp increase in civilian deaths due to rising terrorist attacks over the recent months.

The United States was supposed to pull all its forces out of Afghanistan by May 1 as agreed with the Taliban last year, but Washington pushed back the date to September 11.

While the Taliban have avoided engaging American forces, attacks against government and civilian targets have not stopped.

The Taliban, however, have issued a warning, pledging to attack US troops if they failed to withdraw as scheduled.

157 Taliban militants killed in latest military crackdown

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense has announced that Afghan security forces had killed over 150 Taliban militants and wounded scores of others in the latest military clampdowns in different provinces around the country in the past 24 hours.

The Afghan security forces, backed by the country’s Air Force, conducted operations and counter-attacks against Taliban militants in a number of provinces, in which at least 157 militants were killed and 99 others wounded, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Afghan security forces have also arrested 26 Taliban militants, the statement added.

According to the statement, 95 rounds of mines planted by the Taliban to target civilians and security forces were also discovered and defused, and huge amounts of weapons and ammunition were destroyed as well.

The deadly cycle of violence and killings in Indian controlled Kashmir continues with around 413 persons, including 237 militants, 94 civilians and 81 armed forces personnel, killed this year so far.

According to official records, reported in Indian media, 176 locals have joined the militant ranks this year with highest number of youngsters, 30, joining in May and lowest, 4, in November.
The number of militants killed this year in Kashmir has touched a new high in past one decade and the armed forces claim to have targeted the militant leadership, which has controlled the local recruitment into militant ranks as well, according to a report in daily Economic Times.
Out of 237 militants, 163 were killed since June this year, when Governor rule was imposed following the break-up of BJP-PDP coalition government.
According to government records, 59 civilians were killed during protests and near encounter sites, while as 35 civilians—suspected as over ground workers of militants or informers of armed forces —were killed by unknown gunmen. The highest number of civilians — 26 were killed, the report said.
After the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in 2016, who gave new impetus to militancy in the troubled Himalayan Valley, the government started Operation All Out to wipe out militancy from the state.
Since then, many militants have been gunned in encounters down across the valley, including some top commanders who had been evading security forces for years. Many of them were local Kashmiris with good education and career prospects.
On Sunday, three militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed in an encounter near Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir, during which seven houses were completely destroyed.

Iran’s Ambassador to Thailand and Accredited ambassador to Myanmar and Laos, Mohsen Mohmmadi made the comments at the 3rd conference on ‘Dialogue between Islam and Buddhism’, which was held through the efforts of Iran’s embassy in Bangkok, Thailand on March 15-16.

Mohammadi underlined that Iran always stresses strengthening the shared characteristics of different religions including their divine and human values, friendship between them and avoiding violence and extremism.

Referring to the fact that hostility among religions as well as extremism are on the rise in some parts of the world, Mohammadi said that dialogue is the most important and the only way out of hatred and violence. Dialogue is the only logical way that can bring people from different religions and cultures and establish a culture of tolerance, peaceful coexistence among them.

Referring to the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2013 ‘World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE)’, which was drafted by Iran, the Iranian ambassador said that according to the provisions of that resolution, all religions are committed to peace while they are determined to condemn violence and extremism, adding that violence should not be attributed to any religion, nationality, civilization and ethnic group.

Mohammadi added “we are proud that the religion of Islam promotes peace. Islam has always been in opposition to violence and extremism, as Islam always emphasizes wisdom and moderation.”

Iran’s ambassador to Thailand highlighted “Islam and Buddhism are both moderate religions. Their main message to humanity is avoiding extremism of any kind.”

Mohammadi emphasized that religious violence is done in the name of religion while it has no place in religion, adding some groups’ violent actions are rooted in their ignorance of the true religion.

The two-day event, which was held in Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, was attended by a representative of Thailand’s Minister of Culture, a number of Buddhist monks from Myanmar and Sri Lanka, Thai scholars and intellectuals, as well as a number of Shia Muslim and Sunni Muslims.

Seyyed Javad Mazlumi, Irananian Leader’s Representative for Hajj Affairs, Abdul Rahim Gawahi, Head of the Association of the Religious Studies, as well as Khalil Ghanbari, a faculty member of University of Religions and Denominations in Iran’s holy city of Qom were also present in the conference.
