TEHRAN (Iran News) –An Iranian lawmaker has said that Iran has moved to develop its missile and drone capabilities in the wake of the Iraq-Iraq war of the 1980s, and those capabilities have challenged the U.S. military hegemony in the West Asia region.

“The strategy of the Islamic Republic after the end of the war was to develop the missile industry and build drones, which achieved significant success in this field. Today, Americans and NATO commanders admit the power of Iran’s drones, and this power has challenged America’s military dominance in the region and the world,” Javad Karimi Qodousi, who is a member of Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

He added, “Iran’s strategy in building drones is to maintain the security of the country’s surrounding environment up to a depth of 2,000 kilometers. When this weapon is provided to Lebanon’s Hezbollah, it can be effective in dealing with the threat of the enemies of Islam.”

Referring to displays of the Iranian drones in the recent parade of the Venezuelan army, the lawmaker said, “The demonstration of part of the missile and drone power of the Islamic Republic through the media has worried the enemies, and this drone power is a deterrent for Iran and a source of hope for its friends.”

Karimi Qodousi pointed out, “The development and strengthening of Iran’s drone power is effective in the integration of Islamic countries, and this power can certainly be effective in the peace and stability of the region.”

He added, “According to the declared policy of the Leader of the Revolution, any person, group or country who stands up against the Zionist regime, the Islamic Republic will support him with all its might, and the Islamic Republic can provide them with knowledge in the field of drones.”

The MP considered NATO to be a great danger to the security of the region, saying, “Iran and Russia’s concern about the expansion of NATO is (the basis of) cooperation of the two countries in the field of foreign policy.”

Qodousi considered the request of some countries to buy drones from Iran as a sign of power and progress of the country’s defense sector.

“The general policy of the Islamic Republic is to sell drones. Just as the West allows itself to allocate 50 billion dollars in arms aid in the case of Ukraine, and England, France and Germany also supported this issue,” he said.

Iran’s drone capabilities are nothing new. Over the last decade, Iran, thanks to its native scientists, has succeeded in developing a full range of combat, reconnaissance, and surveillance drones. The latest major achievement in this regard was unveiled earlier this month when the Iranian Army’s navy inaugurated its first drone carrier which included a variety of modern and advanced types of drones all produced and manufactured by Iranian experts in the Army and the Ministry of Defense.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – No Trespasser Allowed. The Islamic Republic of Iran has reportedly said its air defense system warned off a U.S. unmanned military drone near the strategic Strait of Hormuz in early hours of Thursday and it is a clear sign for readiness of Iran’s defense system for any wrong doing from alien forces.

The report on the website of the state-run Arabic-language Al-Alam channel identified the drone as an MQ-9 belonging to the U.S. military without elaborating.

Video posted by Al-Alam showed blurred out images of a surveillance room with commanders and radar operators at work warning an “unknown aircraft” not to get close to Iranian borders.

Meanwhile on Thursday Commander of Iran’s Air Defense Force Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard said the force’s radar and missile systems are at the ready at the mouth of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman to protect those vital waterways against any hostile act.

The commander made the remarks in an inspection of Persian Gulf Security Operations Center (SOC), which is responsible for identification and steering of regional flights as well as interception of targets.

“All radar and missile systems of [Iran’s] Air Defense [Force] are at the ready at the mouth of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman,” Sabahi-Fard said, adding that Iran’s Air Defense Force has evolved from air protection phase into the higher stage of air superiority.

“The security of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman is provided by Iran and the neighboring countries, and the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force today has the ability to deal decisively and firmly with any mischief causing disturbance to this security,” he noted.

Despite various sanctions and restrictions, as Sabahi-Fard said, the progress of the country’s defense force in the field of design and construction of various radar and missile systems will be further reinforced, and certainly this strength and authority will not diminish.

The senior Iranian commander said a day earlier that the force is keeping “a watchful eye” on Iran’s strategic regions and will not allow any act of aggression by the enemy to go unnoticed.

The remarks come as tensions have simmered in the region after a suspected drone attack late last month on an Israeli-managed tanker off the Omani coast. Two crew members were killed in the attack, which was blamed on Iran by the United States, Israel and Britain. Iran categorically denied the accusation.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly warned alien forces of staying away from its borders and air space and it has reiterated that there will be a harsh response to any offence of the enemies. The U.S. forces in the past have experienced Iran’s reaction in the space or on the ground and they have not yet forgotten the shoot down of their sophisticated drone over the Persian Gulf space and missile rain on their Ain Asad Air Base in Iraq.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s military in recent years has shown its enemies and especially to the world arrogance that it will not give in to any pressure or threats and it will fight till its last blood to defend its rights and territory.

It seems American officials are wise enough not to test Iran’s power and bravery by committing such a stupid act or accusing the country of some rubbish and baseless charges. The Islamic Republic of Iran has, since its advent in 1979, shown the world it respects the international laws and at the same time it will not bow down to discrimination or unilateral and illegal decisions of the world powers.

So the U.S. and Israeli forces or anyone who wants to take hostile attitude against Iran are recommended not to mess with this country because they will have to pay dearly for it. Each time the response may differ and if the response is soft it is not because of its weakness but it is because of the adopted tactic by the senior officials.

The U.S. forces are better to leave the region and the people in the region in order that peace and security is restored because history has shown that foreign forces have been always behind violence and rifts in the countries like what we today see in Afghanistan.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Americans Should Stop Backing Terrorists. American troops in any part of the world especially in the West Asia and Middle East are under fire to go back their home and the pressure and even attacks against them have increased in recent days.

Although Jo Biden Administration has announced the exit of the U.S. troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, American troops have not left fully or they have not even stopped supporting terrorists. Everybody knows that terrorist groups in the region have been created or supported by the U.S. The terrorist group like Daesh and anti-revolutionary Iranian MKO grouplet are tools in hands of the Americans to balance the equation in favor of the West

In recent days the U.S. forces have come under attacks in Iraq and Syria as Syrian and Iraqi groups all have urged for immediate exit of the U.S. forces because they believe their countries can resolve their own problems and there needs no aliens’ presence in their countries.

In recent meeting between Iranian and Syrian officials, Speaker of Syrian People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh said forces of global aggression, led by the U.S., besiege Syria and Iran together under the false guise of fighting terrorism but in fact they support and protect the scourge.

Over the past years, the U.S. has been maintaining an illegal military presence on Syrian soil, collaborating with anti-Damascus militants and stealing the country’s crude oil resources.

It has also slapped rounds of crippling sanctions on Syria, which has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011.

Meanwhile in the meeting Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faisal al-Mekdad, said Iran plays an important role at all political, military, and economic levels to support Syria in its fight against terrorism,.

“Those who defeated Daesh and other terrorist organizations are not [the ones] who claim to have formed an alliance for this purpose,” he added, noting that the alliance was fighting against everything in the region except the terrorists.

Despite Syrian people’s demand for the exit of the U.S. troops from the country, the troops are in Syria and nowadays they see reactions from the Syrian groups. On Saturday, a powerful explosion has rocked the gas refinery that U.S. forces are using as a military base in the east of the Syrian province of Dayr al-Zawr.

According to a war monitor, the blast was caused by a mortar shell landed in the Conoco gas field, where American troops are stationed.

A U.S. military official, speaking to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, said the incident left no casualties or damage.

These attacks against the U.S. forces in Syria and Iraq have increased and American officials have no way but to pull back their forces from the region or else they should see more casualties in the future because people in the region do not tolerate occupation of their lands by the aliens and the U.S. is not in a position to determine the fates of the nations in any part of the world.

Over the past years, the U.S. has been maintaining an illegal military presence on Syrian soil, collaborating with anti-Damascus militants and stealing the country’s crude oil resources.

The American troops under the pretext of restoring peace and security are present in Iraq and Syria and they are actually supporting the terrorist groups and opposition groups in both countries because the terrorists are their tools and pretext for staying in the region.

They back anti-revolutionary Iranian terrorist group for conducting terrorist acts and espionage in Iran and they support the Daesh in Iraq and Syria for bloodshed and crating panic in those countries in order to keep foreign forces in the region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly said that there needs no foreign forces’ presence in the region or meddling into the regional states’ internal affairs and they can resolve their problems by own but everybody knows that this is the nature of the world arrogance that it should be present in countries in order to control the governments and nations and this will help them to loot the wealth of those countries.

But the Americans and the Westerns should take into consideration that people in the world now are wise and they have woke up and it will not let them dominate the countries and shape the fate of the nations. The era of occupation and looting of the countries has come to an end and support of the terrorist groups in vain against the strong determination of the nations and collective cooperation of the countries in fighting the terrorist groups.

So it is better the aliens to leave the region and the countries and to stop supporting and harboring the terrorists.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – US military officials are “increasingly alarmed” by drone attacks from anti-terror resistance groups in Iraq, which are posing a growing threat to American military bases and diplomatic facilities in the Arab country, according to a report.

Citing US-led coalition officials, The Washington Post reported on Saturday that the Iraqi resistance groups had over the past months turned to the use of highly sophisticated drones against American forces and US diplomatic missions in the country.

A coalition official described the evolving drone threat as the military mission’s biggest concern in Iraq. Instead of using rockets, the daily said, the resistance groups are increasingly using “small, fixed-wing drones that fly too low to be picked up by defensive systems.”

Referring to two drone attacks against American bases in Iraq in April and May, the Post said the drone threat had raised the prospect of a sudden escalation of violence, with each fresh attack triggering a flurry of communication among US officials whether any Americans had been killed or injured.

“The death of an American is their red line,” an unnamed Western official was quoted as saying. “The first question the Americans always ask is: what was the casualty’s nationality?”

Iraq’s anti-terror Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Sha’abi, staged a drone attack on an airbase housing US forces and warplanes north of the capital Baghdad in May.

The resistance group said the attack had targeted the al-Balad Airbase that lies 64 kilometers (40 miles) north of the capital

The airbase had come under another attack a week earlier, which, according to Americans, wounded “two Iraqi forces,” but did not afflict any casualties on US troops.

In a similar drone strike in April, the Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq’s western province of Anbar housing American troops came under attack, in which a hangar for US military aircraft was completely damaged.

The head of US Central Command, Marine General Frank McKenzie, was cited by the Post as saying that efforts were underway to develop better defenses against the Iraqi drones.

McKenzie told reporters last week that US military officials were looking for ways to cut command-and-control links between a drone and its operator, improve radar sensors to quickly identify the threat as it approached, and find effective ways to bring the aircraft down.

“We’re open to all kinds of things,” he said, according to the Associated Press. “Still, I don’t think we’re where we want to be.”

Following the April drone attack on Ain al-Asad, the White House announced the formation of a working group “on the growing threat of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles [UAVs] and Precision Guided Missiles,” accusing neighboring Iran of providing them to resistance groups in Iraq and the Middle East region.

Ain al-Asad has been targeted several times since Iran launched a barrage of missiles at the base on January 8, 2020, as part of its retaliation for the US assassination of top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani.

Attacks on American military interests in Iraq have risen in number and frequency since early last year, when a US drone strike martyred General Soleimani and senior Iraqi counter-terrorism commander, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, in Baghdad.

Both men enjoyed huge reverence for their contribution to the regional anti-terror fight, with General Soleimani winning fame as the region’s most decisive and popular counter-terrorism commander.

Just days after the brazen assassinations, Iraqi lawmakers unanimously passed a bill mandating the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Iraq.

Last month, Iraq and the US said they had agreed on the eventual withdrawal of US “combat” troops from Iraq, and that the two sides would hold talks to work out the timing.

Iraqi resistance groups have warned that they will treat the American troops as occupying forces, pledging to take up arms against them if they refuse to leave their country.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – An airbase in Iraq’s western province of Anbar housing American troops has come under attack, damaging a hangar for military aircraft.

“This morning at 02:20 [local time] (2320 GMT Friday) Ain al-Asad Air Base was attacked by an unmanned aerial surveillance system. No injuries reported. A hangar was damaged. The attack is under investigation,” Colonel Wayne Marotto, spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, wrote in a post published on his official Twitter page on Saturday.

The Security Media Cell, affiliated with the Iraqi prime minister’s office, also confirmed the attack in a statement.

It said an explosives-laden drone had crashed inside the air base, located about 160 kilometers (100 miles) west of the capital Baghdad, without causing any damage.

This is while Sabereen News, a Telegram news channel associated with Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units – better known by the Arabic word Hashd al-Sha’abi – reported that several rockets had hit Ain al-Asad Air base on Saturday morning.

The report added that C-RAM systems as well as Patriot Advanced Capability-2 (PAC-2) missile systems deployed at the base failed to intercept the rockets.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, which is the latest in a series of assaults that have targeted US occupation forces over the past few months.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi army announced in a statement that two rockets had landed inside Ain al-Asad military base, but the attack had caused no casualties. No further information was provided.

The Iraqi al-Ahad television channel said rocket sirens went off at the sprawling installation.

The development came only a day after at least six rockets struck the al-Balad Airbase, which houses US forces as well as warplanes and lies 64 kilometers (40 miles) north of Baghdad.

Last week, an airbase similarly housing the United States-led coalition’s forces at Baghdad International Airport came under rocket fire.

Official news agency SANA, citing local sources, reported on Sunday that the US military brought truckloads of military and logistical equipment in the province through the al-Walid border crossing earlier in the day.

The Pentagon alleges that the move aims to “protect” the fields and facilities from possible attacks by Daesh, but US President Donald Trump has said Washington sought economic interests in controlling the Arab country’s oil fields.

The presence of US forces in eastern Syria has particularly irked civilians, and local residents have on several occasions stopped American military convoys entering the region.

SANA reported that citizens of Kashkash, Jabor Villages ,Jelal sharki and residents around them gathered in the main street of the city of Al-Shadadi in the south countryside of Hasakah to condemn and protest the crimes of the Kurdish SDF forces after demolishing their homes and sabotaging their agricultural lands with the support of the US occupation forces.

Protesters also burned tires and cut off a number of main streets in the city and shouted slogans against the SDF militia and US forces, demanding compensation for the damages they have inflicted on the residents.

In June, the US enforced new sanctions on Syria under the Caesar Act, which is said to aim at increasing the pressure on the Syrian government to halt alleged attacks on civilians.

The act is set to punish anyone who provides support to, or deals with, the Syrian government or any of the entities it owns or controls.

The measures focus on three major sectors: the military, oil and gas, as well as reconstruction in the Syrian government-controlled areas. It also opens the door to sanctions on the Central Bank of Syria.

The document was signed between US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his Polish counterpart Mariusz Błaszczak in Warsaw on Saturday, Sputnik reported.

The agreement is a continuation of the declaration by the Polish and US leaders, Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump, on strengthening the presence of the US military in Poland, signed last year in Washington, DC.

On July 31, the Polish Defense Ministry announced that Washington and Warsaw had “politically agreed” on a military cooperation deal that paves the way for the deployment of 1,000 more US troops to the eastern European country. Currently, there are some 5,000 US troops stationed in Poland.

The announcement was made soon after the Pentagon said that some of the 11,900 US troops leaving Germany were going to Italy, Poland, and the Baltic nations. The Polish defense minister did not specify if any of the additional US troops would be redeployed from Germany. However, he said that these troops would not be rotated.

Trump ordered the number of US forces in Germany to be reduced after repeatedly complaining about Berlin failing to meet its NATO spending obligations.

The individual, whose service branch hasn’t been released yet, was assigned to the Operation Inherent Resolve coalition.

“Initial reports indicate the incident was not due to enemy contact,” reads a brief Inherent Resolve press release sent Tuesday afternoon, Army Times reported.

“The incident is under investigation.”

The individual’s identity will be released after their next of kin have been notified, Inherent Resolve officials stated.

There have been four hostile deaths and five non-combat deaths under the Inherent Resolve mission this year. All of the combat deaths have been in Iraq.

An airman and a soldier were killed in mid-March during a rocket attack on Camp Taji. Prior to that, two Marine Raiders were killed in Iraq’s southern Makhmur Mountains.

Nearly 150 US service members have been wounded in action this year, as well. One Marine, 10 airmen and 138 soldiers have been wounded in combat in 2020, according to Pentagon data.
