“We expect the UN Organization to be more active and explicit in dealing with US offenses in lack of issuance of visa for Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.”

Iran’s Permanent Envoy to UN Majid Takht Ravanchi met and held talks with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres late on Wed.

Describing Iran’s measures and stances taken against US provocative measures and coward assassination of IRGC Quds Force Gen. Qasem Soleimani, announcing readiness of Iran for talks and cooperating with regional countries to reduce tensions, lodging complaint against the US on breaching its commitments with regard to the issuance of visa for Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif as well as illegal restrictions for Iranian diplomats in the UN were of the main topics of talks between Takht Ravanchi and Antonio Guterres.

In this bilateral meeting, Ravanchi pointed to the key and constructive role of Lt. Gen. Soleimani in the fight against terrorism and defeating ISIL terrorist groups and termed him [martyr Gen. Soleimani] as an unmatched hero in Iran and the region.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the firm response of Iran to US heinous act committed and emphasized the decisive determination of Iran in defending its land and territory, so that Iran does not seek war.

Turning to the lack of issuance of visa by the US for Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and added, “The US move taken in this regard contravenes international resolutions, so we expect the UN secretary-general to adopt a more explicit stance in dealing with these flagrant offenses of the United States violating international agreements.”

The internal police report seen by AP says the three “terrorist suspects” were arrested Sunday after trying to enter the British Army Training camp in Laikipia county in Kenya. It occurred around the same time as the al-Shabab assault on the base in Lamu County.

The British government was not immediately available for comment.

Al-Shabab’s assault at the Manda Bay Airfield lasted several hours and destroyed several US aircraft and vehicles. The airfield is adjacent to Camp Simba, a key Kenyan military base used by US counterterror forces.

No Kenyans died in the attack, Kenya’s military spokesman Paul Njuguna said Monday.

Al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaida, has vowed retribution on Kenya for its troop presence in Somalia to counter the extremist group.

Earlier, Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) said in a statement that “at around 5:30am an attempt was made to breach security at Manda Air Strip.

“The attempted breach was successfully repulsed. Four terrorists’ bodies have so far been found. The airstrip is safe,” the statement added.

The US military command for Africa, AFRICOM, confirmed there had been an attack in a brief statement.

Venezuela on Friday condemned the US military attack carried out by the United States’ terrorist forces against Baghdad, Iraq, in which the Quds Force commander, the Iranian Major-General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated and called for respecting international law in order to preserve peace, according to Telesur.

In a statement issued by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela expressed its firm condemnation of the incident which occurred during this Friday morning.

“This is an action that clearly raises tensions in the region, without any basis in international law, directed directly against a military chief and a group of high-ranking officials of a sovereign country, in a conflict zone,” the statement refers.

Venezuelan authorities conveyed their condolences and solidarity to the people to the governments of Iraq and Iran.

The Government also “called for respect for international law and for all actors involved to contribute to the preservation of peace in the Middle East.”

The United States forces assassinated General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) — better known as Hashd al-Sha’abi — in an attack at Baghdad’s international airport early on Friday. The Pentagon said in a statement that US President Donald Trump had ordered the attack.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said a harsh response “in due time and right place” awaits criminals behind Soleimani’s assassination.

Iraq’s state TV reported that a United States airstrike targeted an Iraqi militia late on Friday on Taji road north of Baghdad. It did not name the militia or provide further details.

Airstrikes have killed six people and critically wounded three, an Iraqi Army source told Reuters late on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Iraqi media reported that a two-car convoy of Public Mobilization Units (PMU) has been hit in an airstrike in northern Baghdad and that the targeted vehicles were carrying at least two senior Popular Mobilizations Units (PMU) officials.

In a statement, PMU said that the targeted convoy was carrying the force’s medical teams.

The statement also rejected rumors around martyrdom of any PMU commander, including the commander of Kataib Imam Ali militia Shbl al-Zaidi, in the airstrikes.

The attack comes as US terrorist forces launched airstrikes at Baghdad airport on Friday, assassinating IRGC Quds Force commander General Soleimani and PMU Deputy Commander al-Muhandis. The attack has been widely condemned as a violation of international law and a provocation for war by the United States.
