Rubin Kazan forward Shekari signs for Iran’s Tractor Sazi

The 21-year-old forward penned a five-year contract with the Tabriz-based team for an undisclosed fee.

Shekari made a name for himself four years ago when he scored his first professional goal in a match against Persepolis in Hazfi Cup, where Zob Ahan won it 2-0.

He joined Rubin Kazan U-21 team in 2017 and made his Russian Premier League debut in April 2018 in a game against FC Akhmat Grozny.

Persepolis had reportedly reached an agreement with Shekari but the player opted Tractor Sazi for the new season.

Irfan Buz nominated to take charge of Tractor Sazi: report

The Iranian football team parted ways with Belgian coach Georges Leekens after failed to book a place in 2020 AFC Champions League.

Now, Tractor Sazi has reportedly offered a two-year contract to the 47-year-old coach.

After his footballing career, Buz began working as a football coach. From 1999-2008, he served a youth coach in German club Barışspor Hackenberg.

Buz was appointed as Bursaspor in 2014. He also coached Gençlerbirliği, Yeni Malatyaspor, and Osmanlıspor.

Tractor Sazi have already worked with Turkish coach Ertugrul Saglam for three months in 2018.

Iran’s Tractor Sazi eye Yoann Gourcuff

The Iranian football club had previously signed former AC Milan midfielder Kevin Constant in January but the French-Guinea international player failed to play for Tractor Sazi after failing a medical.

Constant has given his green light to play for Tractor Sazi but they have switched their attention to Gourcuff.

Gourcuff, who is currently a free agent, has most recently played for French club Dijon.

He is described as a “playmaker of real quality” who “is an accomplished passer of the ball”.

Gourcuff has been described by former French international David Ginola as the best French player of his generation.

Tractor Sazi are second in the Iran Professional League, five points behind leaders Persepolis.

Tractor Sazi Moves Up to Second Place

Japanese winger Yukiya Sugita opened the scoring for the visiting team in the 16th minute and Danial Esmaeilifar and Ashkan Dejagah were on target on 43rd and 66th minutes, respectively.

Earlier on the day, Persepolis defeated Esteghlal 1-0 to stay top of the table.

On Sunday, Sepahan will host Naft Masjed Soleyman in Isfahan and Zob Ahan will play Sanat Naft in Iran’s southern city of Abadan.

Persepolis remains top of the table with 48 points, followed by Tractor Sazi (46 points), Esteghlal (43 points) and Sepahan (43 points).

Iran’s Tractor Sazi coach Mohammad Taghavi resigns

Tractor Sazi interim coach Mohammad Taghavi parted ways with the Iranian football club on Thursday.

The 47-year-old coach, who started his work as John Toshack assistant coach in Tabriz-based football club at the beginning of the Iranian league season, replaced the Welshman in September as interim coach.

Under tutelage of Ex-Esteghlal defender, Tractor Sazi got back on track and they are one of the favorites to win their first ever Iran Professional League title.

“I think it’s time to say goodbye with popular football team Tractor Sazi. I wish you all the best for the future,” Taghavi posted on his Instagram account.

The Iranian media reports suggest that Taghavi will take charge of Nassaji Mazandaran.

He will replace Ex-Team Melli captain Javad Nekounam in the Ghaemshahr-based football team.

Former AC Milan player signs with Tractor Sazi

Kevin Constant, former AC Milan midfielder has signed a 3.5-year contract with Iran’s Tractor Sazi FC on Friday in Istanbul.

According to reports, the 31-year-old defensive midfielder has moved to the Tabriz-based club for €5 million.

The French-Guinea national began representing the French U-17 squad in 2004 but in 2007, played for the senior football team of Guinea. He has scored five international goals for Guinea, one of which was against Team Melli where the African team defeated the Iranian side 2-1 in a friendly match in March 2014.

In his club career, Constant has played for Toulouse, Châteauroux, Chievo, Genoa, AC Milan, Trabzonspor, and Bologna.

The €5 million contract makes him one of the most valuable players of Iran’s Professional League (IPL).

Tractor Sazi currently ranks fourth at IPL with 26 points from 15 games, being just five points behind the leading Team, Sepahan.

Tractor Sazi Striker Anthony Stokes Returns to Iran

Tractor Sazi’s Irish striker Anthony Stokes returned to Iran Thursday morning.

The 30-year-old forward had left Tractor Sazi football team in late November due to personal issues but later announced that he would return to Tabriz.

Stokes, who played for Republic of Ireland from 2007 to 2014, scored 10 goals in 11 matches for the Tabriz-based football team in the first half of the Iran Professional League (IPL) season.

Tractor Sazi coach Mohammad Taghavi and Japanese attacking midfielder Yukiya Sugita also returned to Tabriz to resume the Iranian team’s training.

Tractor Sazi’s Scottish striker Lee Harry Erwin has announced he would not return to Tabriz due to feelings of homesickness.

Irish striker Anthony Stokes is on the verge of returning to Iranian football club Tractor Sazi.

The 30-year-old forward left Tractor Sazi in late November due to the personal issues.

“I am very happy for returning to Tractor Sazi once again. I want to come back to Tractor Sazi better than ever,” Stokes said in an interview with the club’s website.

Former Arsenal player to play for Iran Tractor Sazi FC

Irish professional striker Anthony Stokes has signed a two-year contract to play for Iranian club Tractor Sazi in the next Persian Gulf Pro league.

The 29-year-old Anthony Stokes has so far played for the U21 and national football team of Ireland.

Stokes began his senior career with Arsenal, followed by other British clubs such as Celtic, Sunderland, Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers.

The Irish player then joined the Scottish Hibernian FC at the beginning of the 2017 season, but was released in 2018. He then signed with Greek club Apollon Smyrni but failed to score any goals.

Iranian Tractor Sazi FC has already signed a two-year contract with Irish striker Harry Forrester.

Tractor Sazi FC did not play well in the last season of the Persian Gulf Pro league and only landed in the tenth place.

Qatar’s Al Gharafa come from behind to beat Tractor Sazi of Iran

Qatar’s Al Gharafa ended their 2018 AFC Champions League journey on a positive note after coming from behind to register a 3-1 win over Islamic Republic of Iran’s Tractor Sazi Tabriz on Tuesday.

In a battle between two eliminated teams, it was Tractor Sazi who showed urgency early on and it was they who made the breakthrough. Just after the half hour mark, the Iranian side took the lead for the first time in this year’s campaign after Mohammad Iranpourian dispatched a penalty, which had been awarded for a foul on Amir Arsalan Motahari.

Al Gharafa’s attempts to get back into the game were led by Mehdi Taremi, who eked out multiple openings but was denied by Tractor Sazi custodian Farzin Karousian on each occasion. Tractor Sazi held on to their slim advantage up until the 70th minute, when Al Gharafa turned the game around in the space of seven minutes.

Bulent Uygun’s side had Moayed Hassan to thank for it, with the winger first curling in a free-kick over the wall to level the scores before turning provider six minutes later. Taremi’s through ball sent Hassan racing through towards an advancing keeper and he duly squared it across for Abdelaziz Hatem to tap into an empty goal.

Taremi then finally got something to show for his efforts on the night, when he sent a fierce strike past Karousian in the 87th minute to make it 3-1 and register his fifth goal of the campaign, the-afc reported.

Al Gharafa thus finished level on points with second-placed Al Jazira in Group A, but lost out on a Round of 16 spot due to an inferior head-to-head record with their rivals. Tractor Sazi ended up at the bottom of the group after failing to muster a single win throughout the tournament.
