TEHRAN (Iran News) The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned Israel’s recent airstrike on Qatar, saying the “savage and terrorist act” was conducted with full support and coordination from the United States.

In a statement on Wednesday, the General Staff denounced the attack as a blatant violation of international norms and a threat to regional stability. It referred to Qatar as a “friendly and brotherly nation,” and said the attack had been carried out with full coordination and backing from the United States.

On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on Doha to target a meeting of Hamas leaders, who had gathered to review a US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas said none of its senior leaders were killed in the attack, but confirmed that five members were martyred.

“It is clear to governments and nations around the world that all of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime are orchestrated and supported by the US government,” the General Staff said in its statement. “Washington bears full responsibility and shows no regard for global public opinion or even its own allies.”

The statement warned that the expansion of Israeli military aggression poses a serious threat to the entire region and beyond.

Coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the General Staff called on the Islamic world to remain vigilant and united against the twin threats of American and Israeli militarism. It urged all nations to sever ties with Israel and halt its “mad war machine.”

The statement reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Axis of Resistance and pledged continued solidarity with oppressed Palestinians and resistance fighters across the region.

“The general condition of the wounded is reported to be favorable, and the current situation in the region is calm,” said Saravan’s governor Saeed Tajalli, adding that the attack occurred Wednesday morning.

The border guard who was killed was identified as Mehdi Nouri Afshar. The governor said anti-Iranian elements carried out the attack by targeting a patrol car carrying four soldiers. He did not elaborate on what entity the terrorists belonged to.

Meanwhile, the Iranian judiciary and intelligence forces have initiated new measures to ensure security in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.

The chief prosecutor of the province on Monday announced that three individuals who had plotted and carried out terrorist attacks in the city of Zahedan have been executed.

“The court sentenced the defendants to membership in the Jundallah terrorist group, corruption on earth through participation in terrorist acts, explosion of 2 bombs at a police station in Zahedan in 2018, participation in a terrorist act by exploding a bomb on the route of a passing police car in 2019, as well as smuggling of weapons,” explained Ali Mostafavi Niya.

Another top judiciary official has also declared the dismantlement of a large smuggling network which was trying to supply weapons to terrorists through Iran’s eastern and southern borders.

“Smugglers were bringing a shipment of weapons into the country from the eastern borders and southern borders and intended to distribute it in the central provinces of the country,” the official said.

At least 36 weapons were confiscated from the group. Iranian authorities have announced the discovery and confiscation of several shipments of weapons and ammunition in recent months.

Some Western leaders have gone as far as rebuking countries who have declined to condemn Hamas for the latest bout of violence.

The approach appears to be aimed at implying that the oppressed is the real monster, and the oppressor is being categorized as the victim of the latest conflict.

This is most likely because the Palestinian resistance got the upper hand militarily in scenes not seen in modern history that have dealt a major blow to Israeli security and intelligence apparatus that has been boasted about by the West as being the most sophisticated of all in the region.

This psychological warfare has been aimed at derailing any attempts by anti-Israel resistance groups to bring any justice to Israel for its acts of war crimes in occupied Palestine and beyond.

Israel has claimed that Hamas is operating like Daesh despite the fact that the regime is being accused of supporting Daesh against Syrian government forces.

The comparison is a massive insult to the victims of Daesh terrorism, who are within their right to ask for an apology as Daesh showed no mercy toward their captives.

An official belonging to Hamas told British media that the Israeli hostages taken by the group were being treated in a “humane way,” and they would not be harmed.

History has proven that Israel has shown no mercy either when dealing with Palestinians in its violent ethnic cleansing campaign.

The Israeli army has committed 15 massacres against Palestinian families in Gaza over the last two days alone, a Palestinian official in Gaza’s administration said on Monday.

Hamas did not infiltrate Israeli settlements to create a so-called “caliphate”. The operation was a response to a long list of Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians, in particular, over the past two decades.

Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians are, in fact, too long to list, stretching back to 1948 until today; along with its direct complicity in the Sabra and Shatila massacre in Beirut, where more than 3,000 Palestinian and Lebanese civilians were slaughtered in three days under the regime’s watch.

Neither did Israel show any mercy toward Palestinian civilians during the al-Aqsa Intifada (the second uprising) in 2001, when Palestinian stones were met with Israeli snipers, tanks, and warplanes in the occupied West Bank and then occupied Gaza Strip.

Israel has waged dozens of wars against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since 2001, and some of them have lasted for a matter of days, whilst others have been prolonged.

One theme in common amongst them all is that women, children, and the elderly, the most vulnerable in society, have been killed or injured.

From late December 2008 to mid-January 2009, Israel waged what is widely referred to in West Asia as the Gaza massacre. Nearly 1,500 Palestinians were slaughtered as Israel turned the Gaza Strip into rubble, among them 288 children and 103 women, and 85% of those were not combatants.

Nearly 10,000 Palestinians were also wounded in direct conflict-related incidents. The majority of them were again civilians.

On January 3, Israel began a ground invasion, committing numerous war crimes. The UN agencies called on Israel to rebuild the civilian homes it reduced to rubble, but the demands fell on deaf ears.

In 2014, Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip again between July 8 and August 24. This time, the regime killed 2,310 Palestinians, with 70% of them civilians.

Another 10,626 Palestinians were injured as a direct result of Israeli airstrikes as well as ground and naval shelling.

The majority of the casualties were civilians, including 3,374 children, of whom more than 1,000 were left disabled for life.

The United Nations estimated that the damage caused to civilian infrastructure, including residential homes and hospitals, etc. would require up to $6 billion dollars to rebuild.

More than 7,000 homes for 10,000 families were razed, together with an additional 89,000 homes damaged, of which roughly 10,000 were severely affected by the Israeli bombing campaign.

Amid the U.S. presidential primary race of 2016, Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders condemned Israeli authorities for their treatment of Gaza, and in particular denounced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for “overreacting” and causing unnecessary civilian deaths.

For around ten days in May 2021, Israel once again bombed Gaza indiscriminately during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan, killing 66 children and 40 women.

In the bombing raids around 2,000 Palestinians were injured, among them at least 610 children, and 400 women. In a timeframe of three days in August last year, Israel bombed Gaza?, this time killing at least 49 Palestinians, including 17 children. Amnesty International called on the International Criminal Court to open a probe into war crimes committed by Israel, in particular a drone strike that killed 5 children at a cemetery.

Over the past two years, Israeli forces have been conducting almost daily raids into the occupied West Bank, killing a record number of Palestinians, whilst demolishing a record number of Palestinian homes and widely expanding its illegal settlement activity.

Israel’s violent kidnapping of Palestinian youth and their family members has been unprecedented this year. The roughly 5,000 Palestinians languishing today in Israeli dungeons were kidnapped at gunpoint.

The collective punishment of Palestinians has been ignored, and amid all these Israeli crimes, the West wants the Palestinians to avoid taking retaliatory measures.

Throughout this time, the West has not only kept silent but failed to single out Israel for any criticism whatsoever, despite human rights groups documenting endless war crimes and terrorism.

Instead, Western media is branding Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip as “retaliation” as if the war started on October 15, 2023. “Contrary to (Israeli) occupation claims of targeting resistance capabilities, the (Israeli) occupation army committed 15 massacres by bombing their homes directly without any warning,” Salama Marouf, chairman of the media office in Gaza, said in a statement.

Marouf added that the Israeli army is entirely to blame for these massacres of civilians. “This difficult reality (…) necessitates an urgent action by the international community’s relevant organizations to curb the (Israeli) occupation, which is following the scorched-earth policy within densely residential areas,” he added.

Now that Israel has tasted a sample of what it has dished out for decades against the Palestinians, the double standards of the West have been shamefully placed on full display. History will judge which side was the terrorist and which side was under oppression and had every right enshrined under international law to resist a brutal occupation.

The Leader made the remarks in a Tuesday meeting with the bereaved families of the martyrs of the terrorist attack deadly in the southern province of Fars late in October.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the United States was the creator and supporter of Daesh terrorist group, which claimed responsibility for the Shah Cheragh attack, adding that the criminal perpetrators and their founders are both complicit in the crime.

The Leader said killing pilgrims is quite different from other acts of terror and brings further disgrace to the enemy.

A heavily-armed terrorist assaulted the well-known shrine at approximately 5:45 p.m. local time (1415 GMT) on October 26, just before the evening prayers,  killing 15 pilgrims — including a lady and two children — and injuring at least 40 others.

The attacker opened fire indiscriminately on visitors within the shrine, according to the police commander of Fars province. The perpetrator was wounded and taken into custody by security personnel. He later succumbed to his wounds.

Soon afterward, Daesh claimed responsibility for the act of terror.

Ayatollah Khamenei also urged culture and art institutions to pay attention to the tragic incident and other historical issues and hand them over to future generations.

Iran’s young generation does not have enough information about past incidents such as the anti-Iran terrorist group best known as the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that cultural and media bodies should produce artistic products about the Shah Cheragh incident and other historical issues, noting that there are shortcomings in media works about issues pertaining to the history and events of the Islamic Revolution and the enemies’ crimes.

In response to a question about the G7 statement blaming Iran for the suspicious attack on an Israeli-operated tanker in the Gulf of Oman, the top parliamentarian said, “We have always stated that we are against any illegal action and any terrorist move, but now those who have trained Daesh (ISIL) and terrorists and have even supported it, take such approaches.”

He added that once in a while there are news about problems created for the ships in the Red Sea.

“If there is a terrorist, the Zionist regime is at the top,” Qalibaf underlined on the sidelines of an open session of the parliament.

“We always follow the rules and regulations and we always seek the security of international sea routes and transfer of energy. Those who have a terrorist view take these positions,” he added.

On August 6, the G7 issued a statement calling the incident for the Mercer ship “a targeted and deliberate attack,” pointing fingers towards Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh issued a statement on Saturday stating that attributing suspected attack on the Israeli-operated oil tanker to Iran are “baseless scenarios” designed to complicate the atmosphere.

“We condemn the baseless statement of the G7 foreign ministers and the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs, which is full of baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Khatibzadeh said in response to the statement of the G7 foreign ministers.

The spokesman added that the Mercer ship incident occurred just a few days before the inauguration of the new Iranian president, which is a manifestation of the democratic transfer of power in Iran.

“Such baseless scenarios, which are often the work of the Zionist regime from behind the scenes, are designed to confuse the atmosphere,” he added.

According to the spokesman, these allegations have customers among those who are immediately ready for unrealistic and irrational conclusions.

“In fact, for the experts and those familiar with the history of this region, the planning of such conspiracies by the Zionist regime at different times is not new,” he added.

The Israeli-operated ship Mercer Street was suspiciously attacked off the coast of Oman on July 29 while traveling from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to the United Arab Emirates port of Fujairah. Two crewmen, a British and Romanian national, died in the attack.

Iran’s ambassador to the UN has said the United Nations Security Council must reject deceptions and fabrications by Israel.

“Today, Israel and its supporters presented fake information on recent incidents in regional waters to convince UNSC to censure Iran and failed,” Majid Takht Ravanchi tweeted on Friday.

“We strongly reject these allegations. The UN Security Council must confront Israel’s adventurism in the region and reject its deceptions and fabrications” he added.

The suspicious attack on the ship has led to wild speculations ranging from an Israeli “retaliatory” strike inside Iran to derailment of the already faltering nuclear talks between Iran and the West in Vienna.

Zahra Ershadi, ambassador and charge d’affaires ad interim of the Permanent Mission of Iran to the UN, has also censured Israel for playing victim to divert the attention of the public away from its crimes in the region.

“We just heard a distorted statement about the Mercer Street vessel incident. Let me say a few words about it. First, our thoughts are with the families of those who have lost their loved ones in that unfortunate incident. Immediately following this event, Israeli officials accused Iran of the incident. This is what they usually do. It is a standard practice of the Israeli regime. Its aim is to divert the attention of the world public opinion from the regime’s crimes and inhumane practices in the region,” she stated.

She added, “To that end, they accuse others of wrongdoing. In almost all incidents in the Middle East, Israel accuses Iran. They do it immediately and provide no evidence.”

Iran has called the claims against Iran a false flag operation intended to demonize Tehran.

“Playing victim, lying and deception are part of their toolbox,” Ershadi said, noting, “Israel’s hue and cry on the Mercer Street incident is aimed, in particular, at hiding its terrorist acts against commercial navigation. Only in less than two years, this regime has attacked over 10 commercial vessels in regional seas. On 17 January 2021, the Syrian Prime Minister stated that 7 oil tankers en route to Syria were attacked. Israel was behind these incidents that caused serious fuel shortage in Syria. On 11 March 2021, mainstream media outlets reported that Israel targeted at least a dozen vessels bound for Syria, mostly carrying oil.”

The Iranian diplomat went on to enumerate Israel’s malign activities against Iran and beyond.

Also, Iran’s ambassador to Paris on Friday rejected as “delusional” accusations against Tehran.

Qassemi emphasized that Iran – as the country that has the most coastline with the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman and enjoys several thousand years of civilization – has always made great efforts throughout its history to strengthen regional peace and stability and protect security of the Persian Gulf and freedom of navigation.

“Peace, stability, freedom of navigation, and the safeguarding of strategic waterways in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, and even in other parts of the world, are an undeniable principle and necessity for Iran,” he added.

The Iranian envoy also warned that Tel Aviv and its partners are trying to disrupt Washington’s new policy on a political settlement of Iran’s nuclear issue.

“Enraged by possible continuation and progress of the diplomatic process and negotiations as well as new approaches in the U.S. government on the resolution of issues ahead through political channels, the occupying extremists and their allies are doing their best to undermine this process, and in their evil path, they are using every trick to create an unconstructive and destructive atmosphere for warmongering,” he said.

“Relying on false and baseless accusations and fabricated scenarios by third parties is like planting mines in the path of rationality and disrupting diplomatic trends…. Their recent adventures in the Mercer Street incident will be neither their first conspiracy nor their last anti-Iran measure. Iran will pass through such warmongering multi-purpose traps more vigilantly than ever.”

Qassemi further stressed that Iran strongly condemns any destabilizing act or conspiracy that targets the freedom of navigation and transportation in the sensitive region.

Abir Bassam, a leading Lebanese commentator, says the history of Israel is full of evidence that shows its criminality against its own people and others.

“Anything is justified for the sake of getting more sympathy and support from its operators, mainly Britain and the United States, who take turns in playing this role,” she notes.

Hojatoleslam Seyyed Kazem Mousavi, director of the Justice Department in Fars province, said members of the nucleus of the terrorist team have been identified and arrested in the province in an operation launched by the Intelligence Ministry and police.

Mousavi said 11 active members of the terrorist group were arrested in Fars and 25 others in six eastern and western provinces in a coordinated operation.

To show its existence and create panic among the public, the terrorist group had released video clips in the virtual space, he explained.

The local official added a large amount of ammunition and weapons have been confiscated from the members.

According to Tasnim, Mousavi also said the group’s ringleaders have been identified in foreign countries.

The group had plans to carry out simultaneous terrorist attacks in several provinces with the intelligence and financial support provided by the intelligence services of a European and a regional country, the local official stated without giving further details.

Qassem Sa’edi said that unfortunately “some of the Zionist servants and puppets used the atmosphere to infiltrate the people by chanting destructive slogans and opening fire at protestors, killing two young people at Shadegan and Karoun cities in Khuzestan province.

“The people of Khuzestan, as soon as they saw these behaviors, separated their position from these people and declared their support for the establishment,” he said.

He also said at the time of the protests, security forces did not resort to any force against protesters, and the shooting was carried out by the terrorist groups.

On July 15 and 16, some of the streets at Shadegan became crowded and a group of citizens staged protest rallies in several other southern cities of Khuzestan.

Videos posted online showed police showing composure, guiding people at the bottom of the line or in front of the line to prevent damage to public properties.

In recent days the U.S. forces have come under attacks in Iraq and Syria as Syrian and Iraqi groups all have urged for immediate exit of the U.S. forces because they believe their countries can resolve their own problems and there needs no aliens’ presence in their countries.

In recent meeting between Iranian and Syrian officials, Speaker of Syrian People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh said forces of global aggression, led by the U.S., besiege Syria and Iran together under the false guise of fighting terrorism but in fact they support and protect the scourge.

Over the past years, the U.S. has been maintaining an illegal military presence on Syrian soil, collaborating with anti-Damascus militants and stealing the country’s crude oil resources.

It has also slapped rounds of crippling sanctions on Syria, which has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011.

Meanwhile in the meeting Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faisal al-Mekdad, said Iran plays an important role at all political, military, and economic levels to support Syria in its fight against terrorism,.

“Those who defeated Daesh and other terrorist organizations are not [the ones] who claim to have formed an alliance for this purpose,” he added, noting that the alliance was fighting against everything in the region except the terrorists.

Despite Syrian people’s demand for the exit of the U.S. troops from the country, the troops are in Syria and nowadays they see reactions from the Syrian groups. On Saturday, a powerful explosion has rocked the gas refinery that U.S. forces are using as a military base in the east of the Syrian province of Dayr al-Zawr.

According to a war monitor, the blast was caused by a mortar shell landed in the Conoco gas field, where American troops are stationed.

A U.S. military official, speaking to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, said the incident left no casualties or damage.

These attacks against the U.S. forces in Syria and Iraq have increased and American officials have no way but to pull back their forces from the region or else they should see more casualties in the future because people in the region do not tolerate occupation of their lands by the aliens and the U.S. is not in a position to determine the fates of the nations in any part of the world.

Over the past years, the U.S. has been maintaining an illegal military presence on Syrian soil, collaborating with anti-Damascus militants and stealing the country’s crude oil resources.

The American troops under the pretext of restoring peace and security are present in Iraq and Syria and they are actually supporting the terrorist groups and opposition groups in both countries because the terrorists are their tools and pretext for staying in the region.

They back anti-revolutionary Iranian terrorist group for conducting terrorist acts and espionage in Iran and they support the Daesh in Iraq and Syria for bloodshed and crating panic in those countries in order to keep foreign forces in the region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly said that there needs no foreign forces’ presence in the region or meddling into the regional states’ internal affairs and they can resolve their problems by own but everybody knows that this is the nature of the world arrogance that it should be present in countries in order to control the governments and nations and this will help them to loot the wealth of those countries.

But the Americans and the Westerns should take into consideration that people in the world now are wise and they have woke up and it will not let them dominate the countries and shape the fate of the nations. The era of occupation and looting of the countries has come to an end and support of the terrorist groups in vain against the strong determination of the nations and collective cooperation of the countries in fighting the terrorist groups.

So it is better the aliens to leave the region and the countries and to stop supporting and harboring the terrorists.

“In this operation, significant amounts of weapons, ammunition and communications equipment were also captured from the terrorists,” it added.

One of the fighters of the IRGC base, Mohammad Khan Soleymani Nasab, was also martyred in the operation, according to the statement.

Earlier this month, the IRGC forces killed all the members of a terrorist team that had crossed Iran’s northwestern border to help and evacuate their comrades who had been injured in a gunfight with the IRGC a day before.

The IRGC’s Hamze Sayyid al-Shohada Base said in a statement on July 5 that its forces had smashed a team of terrorists at Iran’s northwestern border the previous night.

The intruding terrorists entered the country from Turkey to help their comrades who had been injured in a clash with the IRGC forces.

And last month, the IRGC attacked a team of terrorists in the northwesternmost corner of Iran, killing one and seizing equipment from them after they crossed the border,

The terrorists had plans to infiltrate into the country from Chaldoran region in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan on June 24.
