TEHRAN (Iran News) According to reports by several media outlets, including the Alikhbariah news website, a convoy of Israeli troops consisting of 12 armored vehicles crossed into and raided the village of Saida Al-Hanout on Monday.

They reportedly inspected a number of residential houses in the area and tried to offer food to the people, but the villagers refused to accept anything from the Israeli forces.

Earlier, the Syrian news agency, SANA cited local sources as saying that Israelis also opened direct fire on agricultural lands, west of the town of Al-Rafid in the southern countryside of Quneitra.

For months, Israeli forces have conducted near-daily incursions into southern Syria, particularly in Quneitra, carrying out arrests, erecting checkpoints, and bulldozing land, all of which have prompted growing public anger and unrest, posing a serious obstacle to the process of returning stability to the country.

Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of occupation forces from its territory, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities, and compel Israel to return to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which the regime dismissed after the fall of the government of Bashar al-Assad.

TEHRAN (Iran News)  A senior Iranian diplomat says Iran firmly opposes any form of external intervention in Syria, tressing that it is the Syrian people who must move toward political, ethnic and cultural unity through dialogue.

Speaking at an expert panel on Syria during the Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF) on Monday, Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, a special aide to the foreign minister, said the primary challenge facing Syria is the occupation of its territories by foreign forces.

He pointed out that parts of the Arab country remain occupied by Israel, while other areas are under the control of the United States and Turkey.

He warned that the continued occupation of Syrian lands could lead to insecurity, instability, and ethnic conflicts, potentially paving the way for the resurgence of terrorism in the country.

Sheibani also expressed concern over the ongoing neglect of the rights of Syrian minorities, which has historically been a source of conflict in the country.

Emphasizing the broader regional implications, the diplomat stressed that peace and stability in Syria are essential for security in Iran and the entire region. He noted that the disintegration of Syria has long been a strategic objective pursued by Israel.

The security situation in Syria has deteriorated further under the ruling Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a militant group that overthrew the government of President Bashar al-Assad in December. Sectarian violence has surged, with the massacre of hundreds of Alawites in March deepening fears among minority groups.

Since the collapse of the Assad government, Israel has expanded its occupation across southern Syria and launched hundreds of airstrikes, mostly targeting Syrian military sites.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Islamic Jihad Movement has said that the Israel’s aggressions are against all Arab and Islamic nations, especially Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and that the rest of the Arab regions will not be safe from these aggressions and their consequences.

The Palestinian movement deemed such aggressions against Syria to be an expression of the regime’s expansionist plans.

According to the Palestinian news agency Sama, the Islamic Jihad Movement in a statement condemned the continuous aggressions of the Israeli regime on Syrian territory.

It said that these aggressions are clear evidence of the aggressive and expansionist plans of the occupying regime against the Arab and Islamic nations within the framework of dividing the region.

“The aggressions of this criminal regime against Syria are a direct aggression, not only against the Syrian nation but also against all Arab and Islamic nations, especially in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, and the rest of the Arab regions will not be safe from these aggressions and their consequences,” the statement said.

The Islamic Jihad Movement also called for the unity of all groups, including resistance groups, to confront these aggressions, thwart their goals, and defend the Arab and Islamic nation and its dignity.

It said that these aggressions are clear evidence of the aggressive and expansionist plans of the occupying regime against the Arab and Islamic nations within the framework of dividing the region.

Iravani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never pursued a policy of destabilization in Syria and has always supported the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of this country.

Excellency,

I am writing to respond to yet another unfounded accusation made by the representatives of the United States and the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran during the United Nations Security Council emergency meeting on Syria on 9 April 2025 (9896th meeting), which focused on the continued acts of aggression by the Israeli regime against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. During the meeting, both the representative of the United States and the representative of the Israeli occupying regime once again leveled false and unsubstantiated claims, accusing Iran of destabilizing Syria. The Islamic Republic of Iran categorically rejects these baseless allegations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has never pursued a policy of destabilization in Syria. Iran has consistently advocated for the preservation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. On the contrary, it is the United States that, for years now, under the false pretext of counterterrorism, has violated Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and destabilized the country by enabling and equipping terrorist groups and backing the Israeli regime’s occupation, all in pursuit of its own geopolitical objectives. These well-documented actions cannot be whitewashed by resorting to disinformation, distorting the facts to misleading the international community, or accusing Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the Israeli regime’s ongoing violations of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which are carried out with the full support of the United States. Israel’s continued occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights remains a grave breach of international law. As affirmed by Security Council Resolution 497, any imposition of Israeli jurisdiction or administration over the occupied Golan is “null and void and without international legal effect.” The persistence of this illegal occupation is a major impediment to stability and security in Syria and the broader region. The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations and to take urgent and decisive action to halt Israel’s violations. The Security Council must compel the Israeli regime to end its occupation and fully withdraw from all Syrian-occupied territories in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

I take this opportunity to respond to the letter dated 20 February 2025 from the representative of the Israeli regime to the United Nations, addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council (S/2025/107). The letter baselessly and unjustifiably references Iran, falsely alleging transferring weapons and funds to Hezbollah. The Islamic Republic of Iran, once more, categorically rejects this unfounded accusation, which is nothing more than a pretext to justify Israel’s persistent violations of UNSCR 1701 (2006) and its blatant disregard for the ceasefire arrangements with Lebanon.

I should be grateful if you would have the present letter circulated as a document of the Security Council.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The United Nations Security Council, in a statement prepared by the United States and Russia on the recent developments in Syria, has condemned the attacks and violence of the government of Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara (Jolani) against the country’s Alawites.

The statement, the result of joint efforts by Russia and the United States, specifically condemns the mass killings of Alawites and Christians by the Syrian authorities.

In the statement, the UN Security Council strongly condemns the widespread violence, including the killing of civilians, in the Syrian provinces of Latakia and Tartus.

The UN Security Council stated that the interim Syrian authorities must protect all Syrians, regardless of ethnicity or religion.

Alawites, or Alawis are an Arab ethnoreligious group who live primarily in the Levant region in West Asia and follow Alawism.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, has strongly rejected allegations of involvement in the ongoing clashes in Syria between loyalists of toppled president Bashar al-Assad and security forces of the interim government.

“Some parties are keen to drag Hezbollah’s name into the events taking place in Syria and accuse it of being a party to the conflict,” Lebanon’s Al-Manar TV quoted a statement by the resistance movement on Saturday.

“Hezbollah clearly and categorically denies these baseless allegations,” the statement added, according to Al-Manar.

The movement called on media outlets not to be drawn into “disinformation campaigns”, which Hezbollah said are aimed at serving “political goals and suspicious foreign agendas.”

Violence has gripped Syria’s coastal region since Thursday when fighting broke out between Assad’s loyalists and security forces of the interim government led by Ahmad al-Sharaa whose militant group, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), led an offensive in December last year, which toppled Assad’s government.

On Saturday, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitor that has been following up developments in Syria over the past years, said that more than 200 people have been killed since the fighting erupted, according to AP.

Al-Sharaa’s government has not published any death toll.

TEHRAN (Iran News) On Tuesday, Hossein Pourfarzaneh, the head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, said that the interim administration in Syria must issue entry and admission permits before the flights can be reinstated.

He added that the organization is currently awaiting a response from the Syrian side to determine the specific days and number of flights from Iran to Syria.

Previously, Pourfarzaneh had banned all flights to Syria until January 22.

Syrian media reported that international flights at Damascus International Airport resumed on Tuesday for the first time since armed militants overthrew the Assad government on December 8.
