]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Kuwait’s new ruler Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday named Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as Crown Prince of the Arab country.

State news agency KUNA, citing a statement from his office, announced the news.

Sheikh Meshal is deputy chief of the National Guard and a brother of the late emir who died last Tuesday.

The Persian Gulf Arab state’s parliament must approve the choice.

]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – New Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah reiterated his country’s supports for Palestine and the fight for the liberation of their occupied land.

His remarks came during a recent meeting with Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, who visited Kuwait to offer condolences on the death of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Sheikh Nawaf said that he would follow the footsteps of his predecessor and offer solid support to Palestine and its people.

Meanwhile, Press TV reported that Sheikh Nawaf spoke to the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, on Thursday and stressed that Kuwait will not alter its policies toward Palestinians and will remain committed to their cause.

Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah died last Tuesday in a hospital in the US.
