Security Is a Vital Necessity for Society

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking on Tuesday, at a graduation ceremony for cadets at the Police University and Officer Training Academy, Pezeshkian commemorated those who lost their lives in recent incidents and extended condolences to bereaved families. He stressed that every effort must be made to ensure that communities, cities, and neighborhoods remain safe and peaceful.

“We must not allow events to occur that threaten the security, tranquility, and well-being of our society,” the president said. “Security is not merely an institutional responsibility—it is a collective duty.”

The president underscored the importance of preventing incidents and crises before they escalate. He stated that social abnormalities, if left unaddressed, could develop into larger crises that endanger public order and safety.

“We must act in such a way that irregularities in society do not turn into crises,” Pezeshkian said. “Through proper planning, preventive measures, and timely treatment of social problems, we can protect both public safety and societal health.”

He outlined four key missions necessary to ensure the health and security of society. The first step, he explained, is building healthy communities and neighborhoods. According to Pezeshkian, when the foundation of society—its neighborhoods and cities—is sound and stable, the likelihood of security disruptions diminishes significantly.

“When our neighborhoods and cities are healthy, events that undermine security are far less likely to occur,” he noted, calling for coordinated efforts across institutions to strengthen social cohesion and public trust.

The president identified prevention as the second major step. He stressed that authorities must respond swiftly to emerging issues—whether social dissatisfaction, public health concerns, or other disruptions—to prevent them from intensifying.

“If illness, disaster, dissatisfaction, or social disorder arises, we must ensure it does not develop into a full-blown crisis,” he said. “Problems must be contained, prevented, and treated in their earliest stages.”

In cases where incidents do occur, Pezeshkian emphasized that crisis management must aim to minimize harm to all parties involved. He called on the government to equip law enforcement and security forces with modern tools, advanced technologies, and updated operational techniques to enable them to manage disturbances effectively without causing unnecessary injury to themselves or others.

“We must not allow the lives and health of our security personnel to be endangered while they are carrying out their missions,” he stated. “Although confrontations may carry inherent risks, preserving the lives and safety of our forces must remain the central principle of all planning.”

At the same time, the president stressed that individuals responsible for disturbances must be apprehended with authority and professionalism and handed over safely to the judiciary for due legal process.

Addressing security forces directly, Pezeshkian said that peace and stability are achieved through their dedication and cooperation. He described their presence in the field as a source of reassurance for citizens.

“Our people and our society have a vital need for security,” he said. “Security enables every individual—regardless of social class or position—to carry out their responsibilities properly.”

He expressed hope that through cooperation between law enforcement, security institutions, public organizations, and citizens, the country could manage challenges with minimal damage while demonstrating national pride on the global stage.

“As you begin your professional careers and move forward in your responsibilities, I hope you will carry out your missions with strength, dignity, and success,” he told the graduating cadets.

The president reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting security forces in all areas possible. “We are responsible for backing you in every way we can, and we will do so with determination,” he said.

Pezeshkian praised security personnel as a source of pride for the nation, saying that both the country and its people take pride in those who safeguard order and stability. “You are the adornment of this society,” he remarked, expressing hope that Iran’s path of development and progress would continue with honor and distinction.

In closing, the president thanked the commanders and families of fallen security personnel who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and values. He also expressed appreciation to citizens for their participation in national events, stating that public presence and engagement reflect unity and resilience.

“The efforts and presence of our people deserve gratitude,” he concluded, emphasizing that collective cooperation between the public and security institutions remains the cornerstone of lasting peace and stability.

Appeasement Encourages the Enemy, Does Not Ensure Security

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani in Jiroft, Sardar Naqdi emphasized that true security is maintained through steadfastness and decisive responses, not compromise.

“The experiences of Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, and other resistance fronts show that where there has been steadfastness, the enemy has retreated, and where there has been hesitation or delay, pressures have intensified,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of national unity, Naqdi noted that as long as the people remain united, the enemy will not dare to attack, and the country’s security is guaranteed.

He also underlined the role of politicians, stating that the primary condition for political activity is a firm belief in and practical commitment to the leadership of the Supreme Leader (Velayat-e Faqih).

Naqdi added that the key to the immortality of martyrs lies in sincerity of action and complete obedience to the Supreme Leader, principles that have made the legacy of Martyr Soleimani a lasting model. He stressed the significance of martyrs’ wills, describing them as the final dialogue between the martyr and the people, where life lessons, experiences, and core values are shared with society.

“Despite different audiences, all martyrs emphasize one shared message: practical adherence to the leadership of the Supreme Leader,” he said.

Referring to the early deployment of resistance forces in Syria, Naqdi recalled that at a time when both military assessments and the political climate suggested victory was impossible, Martyr Soleimani entered the field with sincerity and obedience to the Supreme Leader.

“There was neither hope for success nor a conducive political environment, but his faith and command-following enabled him to overcome the trial with honor, and God granted victory and dignity,” he said.

Naqdi described Soleimani’s doctrine as one of steadfastness, loyalty to leadership, and resistance. “Experience has shown that God’s promise of victory applies not only to the Iranian nation but also to the Islamic Ummah and all freedom-loving peoples,” he said.

Pointing to the U.S. 2025 National Security Strategy, Naqdi said the document acknowledges Washington’s failures in West Asia over the past decades. “America’s multi-billion-dollar expenditures in Iraq and Afghanistan yielded nothing but retreat, humiliation, and increased resentment toward its policies,” he noted.

Concluding, he reiterated that weakness and compromise do not secure national interests. “Security and honor come through steadfastness and decisive action, not concessions,” he said.

Iran achieves peace, security through power, deterrence: Commander

TEHRAN (Iran News) Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, has emphasized that sustainable peace and security can only be achieved through power, readiness, and deterrence.

Addressing a group of cadets at Imam Ali Officers’ University in Tehran on Friday, the commander stated that wars occur where there is a lack of preparedness; therefore, as long as the Armed Forces of Iran maintain a high level of readiness in training, equipment, and morale, the enemy will never have the capability to threaten or attack, and in the event of any confrontation, victory will belong to the prepared and faithful forces.

In a further elaboration on the primary mission of the Iranian Army, he summarized it into three key principles: preserving territorial integrity, safeguarding independence, and defending the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These foundational principles guide all activities, training, and programs within the Army at every level, and every committed officer must prioritize these principles in their service, the commander emphasized.

Rear Admiral Sayyari added that the Iranian Army is continuously enhancing its capabilities in three essential areas: training, equipment, and morale.

He highlighted that improving military education, modernizing and updating equipment to address contemporary threats, and maintaining and boosting the spiritual, faith-based, and revolutionary morale of the forces are crucial for ensuring the Army’s strength and deterrence.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that the axis of resistance is advancing quicker than anticipated against the colonial powers, particularly the United States.

The comments were delivered by Shamkhani on Thursday in Tehran at the “New World Order Geometry” conference’s closing ceremony.

“We are now at a critically historical juncture, and a change in the world order is accordingly of paramount importance. The new world order and mechanisms to approach it would prompt us to review our macro policies,” he underlined.

He stated that the opportunities and challenges of the new world order rely on how nations behave and prepare for such changes.

He also remarked that the new world order may either present big and bright chances or pose threats and dangers.

“We must prepare ourselves and increase our resilience for global transformations,” he noted.

Shamkhani also emphasized the need of preparing for the conditions brought about by the new world order and the changes that follow, adding that being prepared for such developments will allow one to make the most of the new world order.

Iran’s senior security official underscored the need for a change in the world order, noting that the present world order serves the interests of superpowers.

The shift in the world order is not good in nature, but it may be made positive via rigorous planning and competent leadership, according to Shamkhani.

Describing the world’s status quo as beneficial for the axis of resistance, Shamkhani cautioned that the doctrine of resistance should not be transformed into a doctrine of domination.

“Any new world order which would be established irrespective of just and divine codes will empower global arrogance,” he added.

On Wednesday, participants from dozens of nations gathered in Tehran, the capital of Iran, to begin the two-day International Conference on New World Order Geometry.

General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam, the president of the University of National Defense, who greeted the attendees in his speech, said the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s remarks following the breakout of the Ukraine conflict sparked the idea for hosting such a conference.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri were among the main lecturers at the conference.

182 academics, professionals, and thinkers from 36 nations, including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Oman, Syria and Iraq, are participating in the conference.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – An Iranian diplomat has once again warned that weapons of mass destruction are an existential threat to humanity, saying the international community should address traditional and non-traditional security concerns in cyberspace and outer space.

Iran’s Representative to the UN General Assembly First Committee Heidar Ali Balouji made the remarks while addressing the 77th session of the committee’s meeting on disarmament and international security held in New York.

Outlining Iran’s principled stance on disarmament and international security, he said new and unconventional security threats have undermined the peace and deteriorated the security situation in the world.

He warned that increased tensions along with nuclear arms race could lead to a cold, and even nuclear, war in the world.

Balouji drew attention to the spike in military expenditures and the all-time high in military transfers in 2021, saying the United States has the highest military spending and nuclear arms in comparison with other countries.

He said the implementation of the binding legal obligations of nuclear powers in accordance with Article VI of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has not been realized due to the failure of international nuclear arms control treaties and the unfortunate lack of success of two consecutive NPT review conferences.

Nuclear powers are increasing their stockpile of arsenals, he warned.

Besides erosion of the arms control architecture, there was non-compliance with the NPT by nuclear-weapon states, the Iranian envoy said, emphasizing that the international community must hold them accountable.

Balouji added that the Israeli regime is equipped with weapons of mass destruction, has carried out cyber and physical attacks against nuclear facilities, and has also assassinated scientists.

He noted that Israel has prevented nuclear disarmament in the region, urging the international community to put pressure on the regime to join the NPT as a non-nuclear-weapon party and subject its activities to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards.

“We believe that nuclear weapons are not deterrents, but tools of mass murder,” he said.

Israel, which pursues a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its nuclear weapons program, is estimated to possess 200 to 400 nuclear warheads in its arsenal, making it the sole possessor of non-conventional arms in the Middle East region.

The illegitimate entity has, however, refused to either allow inspections of its military nuclear facilities by the IAEA or sign the NPT.

What has emboldened Tel Aviv to accelerate its nuclear activities, according to observers, is the support that it receives from the United States and Europe, which are both highly critical of Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program.

In his Monday address, the Iranian diplomat further explained that nuclear disarmament through total elimination could be a simple solution, adding that the use of chemical or biological weapons should be rejected and all the conventions in this regard must be implemented.

The United States has blocked the Biological Weapons Convention’s strengthening and total elimination of chemical weapons and had reservations about the 1925 Geneva Protocol, he said.

Cyberspace and outer space could only be utilized for peaceful purposes, he said, expressing Iran’s opposition to reckless decision-making or unilateral interpretations in reference to two regrettable examples of irresponsible behavior by the US and the Israeli regime.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Iranian special envoy for Afghanistan has hailed his recent constructive meetings with the Taliban officials, saying the two countries have stressed the need for close interaction in the fight against Daesh (ISIS/ISIL), Tasnim reported on Saturday.

In a post on his Twitter account, Hassan Kazemi Qomi said he has held constructive negotiations with acting Taliban First Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar and Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Kabul.
“In these meetings, the two sides stressed the need for promotion of positive interaction and expansion of relations in various fields, particularly the economic field, and called for enhancement of security cooperation in the fight against Daesh and outlaws on both sides of the common border,” the Iranian envoy said.
Kazemi Qomi also noted that Iran and the Taliban emphasized the need for vigilance and caution in countering the common enemies, who seek to sow discord the Iranian and Afghan nations.
Afghanistan has been in turmoil since the Taliban, who had previously ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, regained power in August 2021 amid a chaotic U.S. troop withdrawal from the war-torn country.
Since then the country has been the scene of several terrorist attacks, most of them carried out by the Daesh terrorist group.
Just on August 6, at least eight people were killed and 18 others injured in Kabul during a Shia mourning gathering in the holy month of Muharram.
The explosion took place in the Sarkariz area of Kabul. The explosive devices were placed in a cart.
ISIS has claimed the responsibility for the bomb attack.
Also in April, at least six people were killed and 11 others wounded, including students, in a twin suicide bombing outside a boys’ school in western Kabul.
Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were detonated outside Abdul Rahim Shahid high school, located in the predominantly Hazara neighborhood of Dasht-e-Barchi, while students were leaving their morning classes.
In May 2021, before the U.S. left Afghanistan, three bombs went off outside a girls’ school also in Dasht-e-Barchi, killing at least 95 people and wounding 240 more, many of whom were young students.
In October 2021, Daesh also conducted two separate suicide attacks at mosques, two of the highest civilian casualty incidents of explosive violence recorded in the country, after the bombing of the girls’ school in Dasht-e-Barchi and the explosions at Kabul’s international airport during the August evacuations. The first incident in October targeted the Said Abad Shia mosque in Kunduz city that killed at least 50 and wounded 100 more. A week later, an ISKP (Islamic State – Khorasan Province) suicide attack on the Bibi Fatima mosque in Kandahar killed at least 63 people and wounded 93 others.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – There is no doubt that Iran will ensure the highest possible level of maritime security in cooperation with the countries of the region, the commander of the Iranian Navy has said, noting that there is no place for enemies in the region and there is no justification for insisting on their presence.

“Submarines have the highest level of technology, and today the naval force of the Islamic Republic’s army is proud of having the highest level of technology in the subsurface field and uses that in practice,” Admiral Shahram Irani said on Friday on the sidelines of his visit to the 12th Exhibition of Maritime Industries and Navigation.

He added, “Having the highest level of modern technologies in the world is one of the requirements…. To achieve this goal, in addition to the ability of the sacrificing forces, we use without any restrictions the capabilities of knowledgeable companies in the relevant fields.”

Irani pointed out that the navy always uses all the country’s capabilities to build its equipment, according to Al Alam.

“Today, this force is at a high level in terms of readiness and combat capability, and the capabilities of its basic sciences, training and vitality in the subsurface, surface and air fields have reached such an extent that major naval powers are conducting joint maneuvers with us today,” the admiral boasted.

He said, “Sea is a complex sector, and if a country conducts joint exercises and maneuvers with another country, it will undoubtedly accept its ability and capabilities.”

The commander went on to say that Iranians have always extended a hand of friendship to all and have always been and will always be supporters of peace and friendship.

“Enemies have no place in the region and there is no justification for insisting on their presence. We advise the enemies not to encroach, and we will undoubtedly work to ensure the highest possible level of maritime security and safety in cooperation with the countries of the region,” he remarked.

Regarding the 12th Exhibition for Maritime Industries and Navigation, the commander of the Army’s Navy said, “Despite all the restrictions, a good exhibition was held, and its difference from previous exhibitions is the response of those concerned to the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and giving the opportunity for knowledge-based companies to introduce their capabilities.”

The remarks came amid ongoing efforts to modernize Iran’s naval capabilities. On Saturday, Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani unveiled plans to update and modernize Iran’s naval fleet in proportion to regional threats, according to Tasnim.

He paid a visit to the coastal province of Hormozgan in southern Iran to observe the process of manufacturing the latest homegrown destroyers, military vessels and submarines.
Highlighting Iran’s geopolitical position in the region and the strategic importance that the Persian Gulf has for the Islamic Republic, he said, “The Defense Ministry will update and furnish the naval fleet of the Armed Forces proportional to the needs of the Armed Forces and the regional threats across all territorial waters.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the presence of aliens and the ultra-regional forces as the cause of insecurity in the region,” the defense minister added.

“Our message for the region and the world is peace and tranquility. On the other hand, we believe that regional peace and stability will be achievable with the presence and cooperation of all countries of the region,” the general stated.

Reaffirming the Defense Ministry’s commitment to promoting defense power in all spheres, particularly the naval power, Brigadier General Ashtiani stressed that military forces would not hesitate about protecting the Iranian nation’s interests and countering threats.

He also noted that the Navy’s operational power is not confined to a specific region anymore, as the Iranian servicemen can have access to all high seas in any part of the world.

In a decree in August 2021, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei appointed Rear Admiral Irani as the Navy chief. At the times he stressed the need for “serious and decent efforts to exploit the capacities” of the Navy, Army and other military forces for “jihadi and revolutionary progress” of the Armed Forces, according to Tasnim.
