Member of Representatives Board of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Masoud Khayyatzadeh pointed to the single digitization of exchange rate in the country and said, “unification of exchange rate is the most important decision adopted by government’s economic team in the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (started March 21, 2018).”

He went on to say that private sector will welcome this move taken by the government wholeheartedly.

The 12th government dubbed ‘hope and prudence’ should make its utmost effort to stabilize the exchange rate, he maintained.

Inflation rate has direct relationship with the exchange rate, he said, adding, “under such circumstances, the respected government should make its utmost effort in line with stabilizing the domestic market.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Chairman of Abadan Chamber of Commerce added, “there are still some problems that can face the unification of exchange rate with serious challenges.”

The secret of durability of single digitization of currency is this that the rate of 42,000 rials should be the base rate of currency, so that this rate will be calculated and changed on the basis of internal and external inflation annually, Khayyatzadeh opined.

According to the governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the currency is provided for economic activists and dear fellow countrymen, he said, adding, “at the current situation, there is no problem in this regard due to the positive balance of currency in the country.”
