Iran’s AUT, Oman’s Universities to Expand Cooperation

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Amir Kabir University of Technology (AUT) will expand scientific cooperation with Oman’s universities.

The Chancellor of AUT Ahmad Motamedi held talks with the Omani Ambassador to Tehran Ibrahim bin Ahmad Al-Moeini on development of academic and scientific cooperation.

During the meeting, Motamedi said that Amirkabir University of Technology is one of the oldest universities in the country and one of the top universities in the country in terms of international ranking, research and technology.

Currently, the university has close ties with universities in Iraq, Syria and neighboring countries in northern Iran, he added.

Recently, good relations have been established between Iran and Oman, he said, adding, “We hope that our scientific, educational and technological relations with the universities of Oman will gradually increase.”

Omani ambassador, for his part, said that his country plans to strengthen its relations with Iran in various fields.

He expressed hope that the relations between the universities of the two countries will develop more than before.

Iran, CERN to boost cooperation: deputy min.

“According to an agreement signed with CERN and the planned programs, Iranian scientists are sent to CERN for taking sabbaticals,” he said.

“As decided in a joint meeting with CERN’s officials, our cooperation is to be more organized,” Amoli added.

CERN is a European research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. Established in 1954, the organization is based in a northwest suburb of Geneva on the Franco–Swiss border and has 23 member states. It is an official United Nations Observer.

CERN’s main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research – as a result, numerous experiments have been constructed at CERN through international collaborations. The main site at Meyrin hosts a large computing facility, which is primarily used to store and analyze data from experiments, as well as simulate events.

Iran sees no limit in boosting scientific coop. with Tajikistan: envoy

He made the remarks in a meeting with Tajik Minister of Education and Science Nouriddin Saidov.

The ambassador noted that holding joint science olympiads and seminars, and launching research opportunities are among measures that can be implemented, noting that Iran is ready to share its experience with Tajikistan in different areas, including the establishment of science parks.

For his part, Saidov welcomed the proposals, saying that Dushanbe is ready to expand science ties with Iran.

He said that the two nations enjoy many cultural commonalities which can act as a framework for cementing bilateral ties in different areas.

Back in mid-June, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a meeting with the newly-appointed Tajik ambassador to Tehran Nizomoddin Zohidi that Tehran is ready to develop its relations with Dushanbe in all fields of mutual interest.

“Relations between the two countries should deepen to serve both nations as a basis for further development of relations,” he said, adding, “the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the promotion of cooperation with the government of Tajikistan in all economic, cultural and international fields, considering these ties beneficial for both nations and the region,” said Rouhani.

Iran, Russia to hold talks on science, technology coop.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari will leave Tehran for Moscow tomorrow to take part in the meeting.

The meeting will be attended by a number of senior state officials of the two countries, including Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei.

The representatives of 68 Iranian knowledge-based firms, specialized in the fields of medicine, electronics, medical equipment, energy, handicrafts will also participate in the event to hold talks with their Russian counterparts.

Sattari is also scheduled to visit the International Industrial Trade Fair (INNOPROM 2019) in Jektarienburg.

Iran, Switzerland to expand scientific coop.

The Iranian delegation headed by Hossein Salari Amoli participated at the second coordination meeting of academic cooperation projects of Iran and Switzerland in Bern.

In this meeting which was hosted by Switzerland’s minister of science and technology, both sides stressed on development of scientific cooperation and joint academic projects. In this regards, Iran and Switzerland have signed 16 joint academic and scientific projects.

Iran’s UST, Portugal’s University of Porto sign MoU

Iran’s University of Science and Technology and Portugal’s University of Porto have signed MoU alongside with the 6th International Conference on Recent Advances in Railway Engineering.

The MoU stipulates the universities to gear up the efforts for boosting mutual cooperation including professor and student exchange, planning for short-term courses and cooperation in holding international seminars and conferences.

Kyrgyzstan keen on expansion of scientific ties with N Khorasan Province
