										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary"><strong>TEHRAN – Shahab Hosseini, the Iranian actor who won a Cannes Palme d’Or for his role in Asghar Farhadi’s “The Salesman”, has established a film studio.</strong></p>
<p>The studio named Nedaye Haft Aseman is seeking to discover and support talents in cinema and theater, he said in a post published on his Instagram on Friday.</p>
<p>He also said that the studio has as its twin sister Seven Skies Entertainment in the United States, which intends to produce films and plays based on “rich Persian culture and literature in order to achieve a high status for the culture and literature in the global market.”</p>
<p>Hosseini has produced “Midnight Sun” that Shobeir Shirazi directed based on Romanian playwright Matei Visniec’s “The Story of the Panda Bears Told by a Saxophonist Who Has a Girlfriend in Frankfurt”.</p>
<p>The movie had its premiere at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco on May 12. It was also screened in Los Angeles, San Jose and Sacramento.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="intro-text">TEHRAN– Academy award-winning film ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi has been nominated for 2018 BAFTA Awards in the Best Film Not in the English Language category.</span></p>

<p>‘The Salesman’, which won acclaimed director Asghar Farhadi his second Oscar, has now been nominated by 2018 BAFTAs for Best Film Not in the English Language, along with ‘Elle’, ‘First They Killed My Father’, ‘The Handmaiden’, and ‘Loveless’.</p>
<p>&#8216;The Salesman&#8217; won the Best Actor award, for star Shahab Hosseini, and the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. It also garnered the Satellite Award for Best Foreign Language Film given by the International Press Academy.</p>
<p>The Iranian drama tells the story of Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti), a couple who are part-time actors playing Willy and Linda Loman in a Tehran production of Arthur Miller’s &#8216;Death of a Salesman&#8217;, when an intruder in their new home shakes this marriage to its core.</p>
<p>The 71st British Academy Film Awards, known as the BAFTAs, will be held on 18 February 2018 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">TEHRAN – Oscar-winning drama “The Salesman” received more honors for director Asghar Farhadi in his homeland by collecting top awards at the 19th Iran Cinema Celebration on Tuesday night.</p>
<p>The film was honored in seven categories, including best film, best director, and best screenplay while “The Salesman” actor Babak Karimi and Farhadi’s assistant, Maryam Naraqi, accepted the awards in his absence.</p>
<p>Farhadi, who is currently busy making his new film “Everybody Knows” in Spain, thanked the Iranian House of Cinema, the organizer of the gala, in a video screened during the celebration at Tehran’s Payam Club.</p>
<p>The films’ star Shahab Hosseini was named best actor and Farid Sajjad-Hosseini won the best supporting actor award for his role in the movie.</p>
<p>Film editor Hayedeh Safiyari and set designer Keyvan Moqaddam also received awards for their collaboration in the film.</p>
<p>“Subdued” by Hamid Nematollah also emerged victorious by winning five awards at the celebration.</p>
<p>Leila Hatami was named best actress for her role in the film and the director of photography Farshad Mohammadi, sound engineer Babak Ardalan, sound effects engineer Bahman Ardalan, and special effects engineer Sina Qavidel were also honored for their collaboration in the movie.</p>
<p>“Red Nail Polish” by Seyyed Jamal Seyyed-Hatami brought its star Pantea Panahiha the best supporting actress award.</p>
<p>Karen Homayunfar received the best composer award for Puria Azarbaijani’s war drama, “Arvand”.</p>
<p>The award for best costume designer was presented to Abbas Bolondi for “The Orphanage of Iran” by Abolqasem Talebi, while Abdollah Eskandari and Mehrdad Mirkiani won the award for best makeup artist for “Lanturi” by Reza Dormishian.</p>
<p>Monir Qeidi’s debut feature film “The Villa Tenants” won Iman Karamian the award for best practical special effects supervisor.</p>
<p>Farnush Abedi’s “The Servant” was selected as best animation and “Animal”, co-directed by Bahram and Bahman Ark, was named best short.</p>
<p>“Womanliness” directed by Mohsen Ostadali won the best documentary award and Mehdi Qanavati received the best director award in the documentary category.</p>
<p>The organizers also paid a tribute to director Vahid Jalilvand and actor Navid Mohammadzadeh for their triumph at the Venice International Film Festival. Earlier on Sunday, Jalilvand won the Orizzonti award for best director for “No Date, No Signature” and Mohammadzadeh received the Orizzonti best actor award at the Italian event.</p>

<p>Shahab Hosseini, the winner of this year’s Palme d’Or for best actor at Cannes for his role in “The Salesman”, was nominated for the best actor award, while his co-star, Taraneh Alidusti received a nomination in the best actress category.</p>
<p>Farhadi will also contend for the best screenwriter award with Peyman Qasemkhani for his comedy film “Good, Bad, Garish”, Masumeh Bayat for “Subdued”, Mehran Kashani for “Daughter” and Soheil Beiraqi for “Me”.</p>
<p>Winners will be announced during a special ceremony in Tehran on September 12.</p>
<p>The Iranian House of Cinema organizes the celebration annually to observe Iran’s National Day of Cinema.</p>
