TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking during open parliamentary session, Qalibaf thanked the government for completing the groundwork necessary to execute the law under the new mechanism. He emphasized that both the Supreme Leader’s directive and the President’s request regarding the Kalabarg (coupon) policy have now been fulfilled and that the program will soon be operational.

According to Qalibaf, the first phase of the plan will cover three of the seven designated economic groups, and over time, the remaining groups up to the seventh income tier will also be included.

Referring to the recent fires in the Hyrcanian forests, he stated that the incident caused serious concern among the Iranian people, who are deeply attached to the country’s natural and national resources. He noted that a large portion of the forested areas in the Elim region of Chalous was saved through continuous efforts by emergency responders, as well as helicopter and aircraft support from the IRGC Aerospace Force and Army Aviation.

He praised firefighters, Red Crescent teams, environmental officers, and local volunteers for their relentless efforts but stressed that Parliament will thoroughly assess how responsible agencies handled the crisis.

He assigned the Internal Affairs Commission and the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environment Commission to prepare a detailed report on the performance of all involved agencies, examining any negligence, misconduct, or delay. A transparent report will be presented to the public as soon as possible.

He added that equipment required for combating such fires must be strengthened and that special allocation will be considered in next year’s budget.

Marking Basij Week and the anniversary of the founding of the Basij by Imam Khomeini, Qalibaf honored the late leader and saluted all Basij martyrs. He described the Basij as a dynamic, living institution that entrusted the revolution to the youth, passing it from generation to generation to ensure continuous progress.

He said the Basij represents not only the active presence of the people in critical arenas but also a deep connection between divine faith and practical action. “The Basij is a blessing and an endless asset for the Islamic Republic,” he noted.

Qalibaf called on the young generation to prepare Iran for a new future. Traditional methods of governance no longer solve today’s issues, he said, adding that Basij youth must lead reforms in economic, cultural, and social structures.

He offered condolences on the assassination of Haj Abu Ali Tabatabai, a Lebanese Hezbollah commander, saying he devoted his life to resistance and has now received his rightful reward.

He stressed that Hezbollah remains strong and committed, with leaders from past and future generations ready to continue its path. He accused Israel’s prime minister of forming a “transnational criminal group” and adopting a strategy of “borderless crimes,” stating that for Israel there is no difference between Tehran, Beirut, Doha, Islamabad, Khartoum, or Istanbul.

He condemned the global community’s inaction in the face of Israeli aggression, warning that patience has limits. “Resistance is prudent but courageous; it calculates but acts decisively. It does not seek war, but it fights well,” he said.

He declared that the only path to stability in the region is to sever Israel’s aggressive reach, saying regional resistance movements will make thoughtful and united decisions, and will act bravely.

He urged the Iranian people to understand the nature of their adversary—one that has no humanity, respects no agreements, and seeks to expand aggression. He emphasized that only strength and courage can deter such an enemy and called for national unity and trust in responsible officials.

At the beginning of his speech, he also thanked religious speakers and organizers of Fatimiyya mourning ceremonies, stating that the love of the Iranian people for the household of the Prophet has been the country’s spiritual protection. He prayed that Iran remains connected to this legacy until the end.

The Israeli air defense fired several shots to counter and intercept the drone but reports say one of the missiles returned to the ground after traveling a distance in the sky and hit the port.Over the past few months, the Islamic resistance has intensified its drone attacks on sensitive and vital Israeli targets in different areas of occupied Palestine and Syria, including the port of Eilat, the Golan Heights, and the Jordan Valley.

The Iraqi Resistance emphasized the continuation of its operations, intensifying efforts to strike enemy strongholds.

Islamic Resistance in Iraq launches 6 drone strikes against ‘Israel’

Yesterday, in continuation of its resistance against the Israeli occupation and in support of the people of Palestine and Lebanon, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a series of drone strikes targeting strategic Israeli sites in occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the Islamic Resistance’s statements, the first operation involved a drone strike on a vital target in the southern region of the occupied territories, while the second and third strikes targeted significant locations in the north, marking a successive operation in that area.

A fourth operation followed where a drone strike was launched against a vital target located in southern occupied Palestine, marking the second operation against that region since midnight.

On Monday morning, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that its fighters carried out two additional operations against two separate vital targets in northern occupied Palestine, using drones.

This raises the total number of operations carried out overnight to six, and eight since last night. The Iraqi Resistance had vowed to escalate its operations in retaliation to the Israeli aggression against both Palestine and Lebanon.

Raisi says normalization efforts with Israel failed 

During a meeting with Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad movement Ziad al-Nakhala on Sunday night in Tehran, President Ebrahim Raisi also said the efforts to normalize ties between the Zionist regime and Muslim nations have totally failed and that the Palestinian resistance will ultimately triumph.

He also noted that one of the main goals of the Zionist regime’s efforts to normalize relations with a number of Arab and Islamic countries is to disappoint the Palestinian younger generation’s hopes for the liberation of the occupied territories.

“We deeply believe that these attempts… won’t bear fruit, because the first and most serious opponents of such normalization of relations are the people of the very same Muslim and Arab countries,” the Iranian president noted.

Raisi praised the Palestinian resistance organizations for their efforts in the conflict with Zionists and asserted that as a result, the Palestinian nation has become more unified than ever before, while the Zionist community has been split and is on the verge of extinction.

Palestine has won the hearts and minds of people all over the world, from the region to Latin America, he stated.

Nakhala, for his part, hailed Iran for continuing to assist Palestine.

He characterized Iran as a significant and prominent nation in regional and global affairs and cited the Iranian president’s most recent trip to Latin America as proof that the Islamic Republic had been successful in bypassing the sanctions.

Speaking about the successes and victory of the resistance forces during a recent 5-day conflict in Gaza, Nakhala said that despite the Zionist regime’s initial claims that it had reached a settlement with Egypt to put an end to the fighting with the resistance forces, it later had to declare that it had reached an agreement with the resistance forces.

He described such an acknowledgment as a significant triumph for Palestine brought about by the Palestinians’ tenacity and resistance.

Abdollahian says Israel is to blame for regional instability 

In a meeting with al-Nakhala on Monday in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also blasted the Zionist regime as the root cause of regional instability.

The foreign minister also emphasized the crucial role that cooperation among the resistance organizations played in the recent triumph during the 5-day fight in Gaza while reiterating Iran’s support for the cause of Palestine, holy al-Quds, and the Palestinian nation’s legitimate resistance against the Zionist tyranny.

According to Amir Abdollahian, the region’s insecurity and instability are mostly caused by the apartheid Zionist regime.

He urged the Muslim states to act jointly and decisively to end the Zionist regime’s atrocities against the oppressed Palestinian people and to protect the Islamic holy sites.

For his part, Nakhala presented an assessment of the current state of affairs in Palestine and the occupied areas.

He further asserted that the Palestinian resistance groups are ready and united to fight the Zionist dictatorship and are capable of fending off any invasion by Israel while having the full support of the Palestinian people.

In a meeting with Nakhala and his delegation in Tehran on Wednesday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “Today, the Zionist enemy is in a position of passivity and reaction, and this situation shows that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and resistance groups have correctly identified the path and are moving forward in this direction with prudence.”

The Leader also congratulated the Islamic Jihad on its recent victory over Israel, saying that the present conditions of the Israeli regime are very different from 70 years ago.

Underlining that in big goals and works it will not be possible to achieve the goals until the risk is taken, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Today, by God’s grace, the strength and credibility of the Palestinian resistance groups and the Islamic Jihad is increasing day by day, and the recent defeat of the Zionist regime in the 5-day war confirms this.”

He continued, “The Islamic Jihad of Palestine aced the test in the recent battle of Gaza, and now the conditions for the Zionist regime have changed compared to seventy years ago, and the Zionist leaders have the right to worry about not seeing the eightieth anniversary of this regime.”

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian resistance groups have found the main key to fighting the Zionist regime.

“The growing power of the resistance groups in the West Bank is the key to bringing the Zionist enemy to its knees, and this path must continue,” he added.

On the occasion of the National Judiciary Week and martyrdom anniversary of Ayatollah Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, the then Chief Justice of Iran, and 72 other Iranian officials,  Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei held a meeting with high-ranking Judiciary officials on Tuesday.

Judiciary Week in Iran is named after Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti who along with 72 colleagues was martyred in a terrorist bomb blast in June 1981. Ayatollah Beheshti served as the head of the Judiciary in the early years after the victory of the Islamic revolution.

At the start of his speech to the meeting, the Leader recalled the early years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution when the MKO elements were carrying out many terrorist actions against the Iranian people, senior government officials, and IRGC forces in Tehran.

In such an environment, the country lost a prominent figure, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, the Leader said.

However, the political situation of the country completely changed through the resistance of Imam Khomeini(RA), the Iranian officials, and the revolutionary youth and the Iranian nation, he further added.

According to the Leader, Iran’s enemies constantly pinned hope on the weakness and shortcomings in the system of the Islamic Republic, however, Islamic Republic has proved that it can overcome pressures every time.

The Leader further said that the enemies have been disappointed by the Iranian nation on a regular basis in the last four decades since the Islamic Revolution.

The enemies cannot understand that, in addition to political calculations, there are other calculations, n divine traditions in the world.

“Divine laws, divine traditions are not changeable. These divine laws are unalterable laws,” the Leader stressed.

In 1981, the Iranian people were able to stand on their own feet and disappoint the enemy, he said, stressing that today the people are able to do that again as the divine traditions continue unchanged.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei spoke about the essential components of an Islamic government, saying that the Islamic government must promote spirituality based on Islamic values like justice, fairness, brotherhood, and fight against corruption.

Confirming the remarks of Iran’s judiciary chief that “the fight against corruption within the judiciary is a priority,”, the Leader also underlined, “The majority of judiciary personnel are honorable, clean-handed, faithful and hardworking individuals, but the few corrupt people who harm the work and reputation of others must be dealt with.”

Regarding the fight against corruption, the main task is to confront the corrupt structures and break them down, the Leader stressed, describing the judiciary as an important and influential pillar in the country.

“The participation of the Iranian people in their country’s presidential elections whether inside or outside Iran was evidence of the existence of democracy in a region where the right to express an opinion in most countries close to Iran is rarely given, where most countries in the region that do not even know the meaning of democracy, human rights, or freedom of expression,” Marwa Osman tells the Tehran Times.

“Western and Saudi media even tried to obscure the political changes in the region, calling on the whole world not to recognize these elections,” Osman notes.

Some Western powers have slammed Iran’s election, describing Ebrahim Raisi, the president-elect, as a hardliner who may put relations between Iran and the West at risk.

“Iran represents a unique case of democracy and people’s religious governance, and elections are one of the pillars of this democracy along with all the dimensions that collectively make up the democratic process in any country,” Osman underlines.

Following is the text of the interview:

Q: How do you assess the Iranian presidential election? What are its implications for the world?

A: Iran represents a unique case of democracy and people’s religious governance, and elections are one of the pillars of this democracy along with all the dimensions that collectively make up the democratic process in any country.

It was obvious though that the results did upset the U.S. and its allies, who mobilized their media and efforts to try to thwart the elections and even reached the point of calling upon Iranian people not to participate in the process.

Western and Saudi media even tried to obscure the political changes in the region, calling on the whole world not to recognize these elections. The participation of the Iranian people in their country’s presidential elections whether inside or outside Iran was evidence of the existence of democracy in a region where the right to express an opinion in most countries close to Iran is rarely given, where most countries in the region that do not even know the meaning of democracy, human rights, or freedom of expression. Here, they were again carrying out a campaign of distortion of the Islamic Republic and direct media campaigns against it trying to taint the presidential elections as not credible and rigged, yet they were only proven wrong.

Q: What changes do you predict in Iran’s policies after Raisi takes power?

A: We can begin to understand that Iran is overlooking a new phase internally, regionally and internationally by simply listening to the first speech that President Ibrahim Raisi gave after he was named president-elect.

Raisi considered that the message sent by the Iranian people in these elections is a message of insistence on the values of the Islamic Revolution, stressing that he will dedicate his service to the people with the aim of solving their problems by relying on Iran’s abundant capabilities and wealth and prioritize providing basic commodities to the Iranian people who have been suffering continuous illegal U.S. and European economic sanctions.

The major issue that will shift internally in Iran is that President Raisi’s government has no choice but to focus on improving the conditions of the people by establishing an effective administrative system through revolutionary forces that fight corruption. It will be a tough road but Raisi knows that he has to rake it in order to salvage the Iranian resistance economy put forth as a dominant strategy by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at a time when the Western pressure was at its peak.

Now as this pressure is expected to decline as a result of continuous failures that Western regimes faced in West Asia, it would be the perfect timing for President Raisi to leave his mark at the internal political and economic level that would for sure improve the quality of life for ordinary Iranians who have suffered deeply from external pressure and internal corruption.

Q: Why are Western media trying to portray Raisi as a hardliner?

A: A simple answer would be because president Ibrahim Raisi represents everything that the U.S. imperial power has tried to annihilate in West Asia since late Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeini exploded the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979 giving the Iranian nation its independence and sovereignty in a way that cut all the strings once attached between the Shah’s regime and the American regime.

Americans tend to put labels, names and adjectives to leaders, movements and states who dare challenge their foreign policy, imperial demands and routine interventions which the U.S. blatantly views as their God-given right when dealing with any sovereign state. We even saw that arrogant behavior against historic friends of the U.S. during the Trump administration like the shade he threw against Canada, Germany and France when they were not seeing eye to eye with his unconventional methods of governing.

President Raisi has the blessing of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei as well who considers him a dear friend and a competent leader who will govern as per the principles of the Iranian revolution.

So basically, we might be looking at a government that has the same perspective as that of the first government ever formed after the revolution, and that by itself would prompt the U.S. regime and its puppet Western and regional mainstream media to label President Raisi as a “hardliner” because he is ready to take on the endless pressure that the U.S. utilizes to target any movement, state or leader they find to be resisting their continuous imperial hegemony.

Q:  How can America slam the Iranian election while it is silent towards its Arab allies?

A: Successive U.S. administrations have always operated as per American interests and benefits. They have one goal in mind and that is more power, greater influence and faster routes towards a unipolar, U.S.-dominated world. As far-fetched as this goal gets, the U.S. still believes that by allowing regimes, that were put in place during British imperialism and who tend to strive for U.S. acceptance, to continue ruling over the majority of their population without the latter’s consent, approval, or even choice, it is simply protecting its interests in this region and giving more way for their domination to manifest in these specific countries. Let us first agree that these states that the U.S. dominates and practically rule are not even considered allied states, rather only proxy entities that abide by the dictates of the U.S. empire and implement its plans according to well-drafted policies and procedures that would ensure the submission of said states’ political will, natural resources and diplomatic ties as per American guidelines that obviously only serves American interest.

Q: How do you see the fate of the Vienna talks in light of the recent election in Iran?

A: Just like in 2013 the election of a reformist president was critical to seal the nuclear deal with the United States, now a conservative president seems necessary for concluding a new one and I think the Biden administration knows that very well. Early on, the Biden administration understood that it would be counterproductive to tie nuclear negotiations to Iran’s presidential election. In fact, by ignoring the presidential election as a deadline and settling for a prolonged process that would extend into the summer, the administration made it easier for Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei to support progress in Vienna which now makes way for better maneuvering for President Raisi. One thing is for sure though, Iran will simply not comply with any JCPOA demands whatsoever before the U.S. fully removes its sanctions and Iran actually feels the effect of the removal. I am not predicting anything; it is simply the speech of Sayyed Ali Khamenei which represents the strategic map for any government that is chosen to lead these talks into success. It’s worth recalling that Imam Khamenei had approved the 2015 nuclear deal and supported Iran’s compliance with it. However, once then-U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal, Sayyed Khamenei distanced himself from it and favored Iran’s incremental backing away from compliance with its terms until Washington would return to the agreement. Saying that the United States could not be trusted, he flatly rejected the idea of a new deal as do most Iranians, which is why I believe the only route would be a return to the old deal but with full termination of all sanctions against the Iranian nation first.

“The message that the occupying United States, its allies, supporters and subordinates need to comprehend is that the resistance is determined to extend its operations until the occupiers leave, and close all their military bases throughout Iraq, including in Kurdistan region,” Jawad al-Talibawi, a spokesman for Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, which is part of the Popular Mobilization Units, wrote in a post published on his Twitter page on Saturday.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki lately said that the United States would engage in a “strategic dialogue” with Iraq this month.

according to Press TV, the talks, which began last June under the administration of former U.S. president Donald Trump, would be the first under President Joe Biden. On the agenda is an array of issues, primarily the presence of U.S. military forces on Iraqi soil.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has told reporters he is approaching dialogue with Washington as a chance to push for the withdrawal of American troops.

Kata’ib Hezbollah, another Iraqi anti-terror group, dismissed the upcoming Iraq-U.S. talks, which are scheduled for next week, as “futile and worthless.”
Meanwhile, Senior cleric and political leader Ammar al-Hakim also said Iraq’s sovereignty will be complete once American occupation forces fully withdraw, underscoring that the United States should not have a permanent military base in the Arab country.
