Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari, the commander of Iran’s Law Enforcement made the remarks in a meeting with the security authorities and police officers in the southern province of Bushehr.

Ashtari described ensuring the security of a country as a top priority for any government in the world and added that security lays the ground for a country’s development.

“Since the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the enemies of the Establishment have sought to create instability in Islamic Iran,” the police commander-in-chief said.

He recalled the anniversary of the failed US Tabas Operation on 24 April 1980 in Iran, saying “in order to inflict a blow on the newly established Islamic Republic, the United States planned an attack on 24 April 1980 to overthrow the establishment, without the knowledge of the security, military and Law Enforcement apparatuses, which was defeated at God Almighty’s will in the Tabas desert.”

Ashtari also said that at the end of the eight-year of Iraqi imposed war on Iran between 1980-1988, the Iranian nation came out victorious under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini.

The police commander-in-chief also said that resistance forces in the region have thwarted all the American and Zionist plots against security in regional countries.

He concluded by saying that now the country is enjoying the highest level of security at God’s will and under the leadership of the commander-in-chief of all armed forces Ayatollah Khamanei, adding that all the threats against the country’s security have been neutralized through the cooperation of all security and intelligence forces.

He noted that regional security and stability will be only materialized by the collective resolve of the regional states in the framework of regular consultations on regional issues without the intervention of foreign countries.

Fahad Al-Hajri, for his part, pointed to the common destiny of the regional countries, calling for political and economic development in the region.

Finding political solutions for crises and removal of concerns by negotiations is the best shape of diplomatic relations, he added.

He stressed Qatar’s determination for promoting relations with Iran in various fields.

Previously, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned that “forces of darkness” comprised of regional and extra-regional forces are hell-bent on preventing the revival of a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and major world powers.

“All parties must beware of those who have been hostile to this nuclear deal right from the start and have repeatedly acknowledged it. These forces include the Zionist regime [Israel], some Arab states, some groups inside America, and some groups in Europe who acted against the JCPOA right from the start and rejoiced at Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the JCPOA. They are the sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic and thus can be called the forces of darkness,” Araghchi said.

He said these forces are working hard to destroy the Iranian nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“All these forces of darkness are determined to prevent the revival of the JCPOA. They are well aware that the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is moving so strongly into the future without the JCPOA, will become an undisputed power in the region and the world if it can strengthen its economy by relying on its own capabilities and by lifting sanctions. Everyone must be vigilant of the forces that are everywhere seeking to defeat this movement, and pursue their policies in the right and wise direction,” the deputy foreign minister continued.

“Preserving the security of the Persian Gulf needs collective cooperation of regional countries,” Amir Abdollahian said in a tweet, Mehr reported on Tuesday.

“The outcome of the United States and other foreigners’ military presence and the foreigners’ stockpiling of weapons in the Persian Gulf would be an increase in insecurity,” he pointed out.

Amir Abdollahian stated that dialogue, building trust, and mutual respect are currently necessary for the region.

“And the Islamic Republic of Iran has always recommended this path,” he added.

Iran has in recent months called for closer cooperation with regional countries to counter threats.

President Hassan Rouhani, during his speech at the 74th UN General Assembly, called on regional states to join the Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE).

“Based upon the historical responsibility of my country in maintaining security, peace, stability, and progress in the Persian Gulf region and Strait of Hormuz, I would like to invite all the countries directly affected by the developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to the ‘Coalition for Hope’, meaning Hormuz Peace Endeavor,” Rouhani said at the summit.

He added, “The Coalition for Hope is based on important principles such as compliance with the goals and principles of the United Nations, mutual respect, equal footing, dialog and understanding, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, inviolability of international borders, the peaceful settlement of all disputes, and more importantly, the two fundamental principles of non-aggression and non-interference in the domestic affairs of each other. The presence of the United Nations is necessary for the creation of an international umbrella in support of the Coalition for Hope.”

“Such a mission would be to collect information in the area based on a provision regarding survey and research activities under the Defense Ministry Establishment Law. The government is expected to make a final decision on the dispatch after the UN General Assembly meeting to be held in New York later this month,” notes the report.

“According to several sources, the government’s current plan is to perform the mission in areas around the Strait of Hormuz, in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait off Yemen, and elsewhere. US is leading a mission in the Persian Gulf, known as the international maritime security construct (IMSC). It has asked its allies to join the initiative. The United Kingdom, Bahrain and Australia are presently the only other countries to join the US in the Strait of Hormuz, but the UK has appealed to European allies to join the mission to safeguard shipping lanes.

Key Washington allies Germany and Japan have refused to join, and France has expressed reservations about the US’ provocative initiative.

On August 6, Israeli regime’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that they will be part of the US-led anti-Iran coalition. Iran reacted to the announcement, warning that Washington and Tel Aviv would be responsible for the consequences of such a decision.

Tehran has condemned US efforts to form a coalition, highlighting that regional countries can provide the region with security.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations, the latest developments in the implementation of the Iran-France Presidents’ initiative to salvage Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA), the roadmap for the two countries’ relations in the next 25 years, the security of the Persian Gulf region and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and the US’ illegal and unilateral sanctions against independent states.

Washington has accused Iran of having a hand in those attacks, a claim Tehran has strongly rejected. Tehran has warned that such sabotage operations may be part of a general ploy to target Iran amid increasing regional tensions. The US has asked its allies to join the coalition, a call which has not been warmly received over fears that such a mission could lead to tensions with Iran.

“After the downing of the US drone and the seizure of the British oil tanker, they became desperate. Now they think the coalition would be an answer to the decisive warnings of our defensive forces, but Iran, under no circumstances, will show any flexibility to them,” he added.

Stressing that no country would dare to launch an attack on Iran, he said it makes no difference to the Islamic Republic which countries join the coalition.

“This US coalition, like its other similar attempts, is doomed to failure,” he noted.

The chairman of the nuclear committee highlighted that the security in the region must be guaranteed by regional countries themselves, adding “countries in the region should know that the US is only seeking its own interests, and cannot establish security in our region.”

The US recently announced plans to form the coalition force to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz from what it calls an Iranian threat. The move comes amid Washington’s attempts to undermine Iran’s oil exports after Trump pulled the US out of the Iran nuclear deal and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran.

The US has officially asked Germany, Britain and France to participate in the coalition, a request that was declined by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. Japan has also refused to join the force, and France has expressed reservations.

However, the UK and the Israeli regime said they would join the coalition.

Iran has condemned the US attempts to set up the military coalition, stressing that the presence of extra-regional military forces in the strategic region would act as a source of insecurity.

He said that enemies are organizing different plots to insecure Iran’s airspace. Iranian forces managed to inflict heavy losses to Saddam military using even the most basic equipment, he added.

The United States has been ramping up pressure against Iran, which has mostly led to escalating tension in the Persian Gulf, following tanker and drone incidents.

On July 19, the US Central Command issued a statement claiming it was “developing a multinational maritime effort, Operation Sentinel, to increase surveillance of and security in key waterways in the Middle East.”

Many experts say such a move can increase the tensions in the region.
