]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) overturned the straight red card awarded to Persepolis defender Siamak Nemati.

Nemati was shown a red card by Korean referee Hyung-Jin Ko in the match against Qatar’s Al-Sadd in the AFC Champions League Round of 16.

Persepolis football club filed an appeal in attempt to avoid Nemati being suspended and AFC changed the decision after reviewing the films.

Iran’s Persepolis is scheduled to meet Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan Wednesday night.
