TEHRAN (Iran News) – A total of 72 passengers who have tested positive for coronavirus have been quarantined at border facilities, Mehdi Valipour, head of Relief and Rescue Organization affiliated with the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), said on Wednesday.

Moreover, 371,756 passengers have so far been screened for coronavirus by thermal tests at the country’s official borders since March 10, he added, IRNA reported.

During the aforesaid period, IRCS forces have conducted 27,043 PCR tests and 52,709 rapid tests, he noted.

Some 471 members of the IRCS cooperate for carrying out the plan in 16 provinces across the country, Valipour concluded.

With the cooperation of ministries of health and transport, a plan is being implemented with the goal of rapidly identifying and testing incoming passengers and keeping them in quarantine facilities, if necessary.

Thirty border checkpoints have been selected, including 18 land borders, nine air borders, and three sea borders, all incoming passengers will be tested and referred to the quarantine facilities in case of necessity.

Around 8,000 individuals enter the country via borders on a daily basis.

Ban on flights

Iran has extended travel restrictions on flights to and from 15 countries due to a surge in the coronavirus disease, according to Iran Civil Aviation Organization.

The Islamic Republic has banned flights to India, Pakistan, France, Botswana, Brazil, Czech Republic, Iraq, Estonia, Ireland, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Slovakia, South Africa, and Zambia aimed to curb the disease.

Iranian citizens without a negative coronavirus PCR test result are subject to medical screening and quarantine for 14 days at their own expense, while non-Iranian nationalities without the certificate are not allowed to enter the country.

All passengers are subject to the medical screening on arrival, and if they are suspected of having the disease, non-Iranian nationalities will be quarantined at a place specified by the Health Ministry at their own expense and Iranian citizens will need to self-isolate for 14 days.

Britain said on Friday travelers from the United Kingdom to France are required to self-certify that they are not suffering coronavirus symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed case within 14 days preceding travel.

Since Aug. 15 British authorities have also required travelers returning from France to self-isolate upon their return due to high COVID-19 infection rates in France.

“We will have a measure called reciprocity so that our British friends do not close the border in one single way,” French Junior European Affairs Minister Clement Beaune told French TV France 2.

“For travelers returning from the United Kingdom, there will probably be restrictive measures decided in the next few days by the Prime Minister and by the Defense Council”, Reuters reported.

The imposition of quarantine conditions by British officials have hit Briton’s favorite holiday destinations in mid-summer and have been called unnecessary by authorities in some of those countries.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s gifted with a lot of tangible and intangible cultural heritages and every year, when the spring blossoms on green branches during April and May and wraps them in tiny flowers, the streets among the historical and cultural heritages in Iran go crazy with a great number of tourists from different countries.

Iranians, being famous for their hospitality, also do their best in hosting and welcoming travelers. Unfortunately, the pandemic has restricted tourism all around the world and everyone is under lockdown this year. However, people are trying to keep their spirits up by coming up with alternatives they can simply enjoy in their houses. With the industry of tourism under the same effect of Coronavirus, travel companies are trying to provide a comfy space for travelers who cannot take the risk to enjoy the outer world like before.

In the meantime, virtual tours and online visits are a good opportunity to inject life to both traveling in general and travel lovers. There are blog posts that provide you with a virtual environment in which you can travel although you’re lying on your couch and not really stepping out of your house. In these virtual tours, you’ll get a taste of Iran by means of your imagination and a little help of blue-sky experience in which you will find yourself trapped at the center of high-quality 360° photo-panoramas.

Iran is loaded with amazing treasures all around its vast territories, but ‘Visit Our Iran’ has selected a number of historical and cultural heritages for you so that you can relive your experiences if you have already visited places like Pasargadae or the Pink Mosque. On the other hand, if you have not visited Iran so far and you have no idea what it has to offer, you will get a chance to capture a glimpse of the beauty that it embraces in its heart and decide if it’s worth an authentic expedition.

In Iran virtual cultural tour, you will be transported on your neurons to the unknown land of your imagination, you would observe both the famous and lesser-known legacies of time in Iran only within some clicks and a scroll which takes about 30 minutes. It’s as if you fly between cities that are hundreds of kilometers away from each other and the passage of time has written different signatures on them. The signatures in Isfahan’s Naqsh-e Jahan Square depict the evolution of Islamic architecture in Iran while the ones on wind catchers and qanats in Yazd tell us the tale of how the culture was developed in the context of such an arid land. This is the way to escape reality until life goes back to normal and we will be able to share the real experience with you again in Visit Our Iran, to revive the spirit of sustainable tourism with your help.

Jilin city in northeast China has imposed restrictions on transport and gatherings amid fears of a new wave of COVID-19 infections after a cluster outbreak was reported.

Train and long-distance bus services have been stopped, gatherings banned and indoor public venues closed after seven new cases were confirmed on Tuesday, including an asymptomatic patient, the South China Morning Post reported.

That brought the total to 21 community cases, with two asymptomatic patients, since the first case in the cluster was reported a week ago.

“The current outbreak is very serious and complex and poses a major risk of further spread,” Gai Dongping, the vice-mayor of Jilin, told reporters in an online briefing on Wednesday.

“In order to prevent and stem the spread of the epidemic, the Jilin epidemic prevention and control group has decided to implement control measures in the urban area of Jilin,” she said.

That included closing all residential compounds and rural villages in the area, the Jilin city government said in a statement.

More than 4.26 million people around the world have been confirmed with the coronavirus to date, according to Johns Hopkins University. More than 293,000 have died – 82,000 of them in the US. Nearly 1.5 million people have recovered.

Enforcing the Biggest Quarantine in the 21st Century

The Coronavirus, better known as the COVID-19, is considered as the most influential factor of the modern world which could enforce billions of people into house quarantine and actually confined them to their houses.

IRAN NEWS POLITICAL DESK

What we have seen in the world in recent three decades that has emerged and had social impact, and issuance of central orders, seemingly has been aimed at protecting the lives and the Information Technology (IT), and if it had happened before the Industrial and Telecommunications Revolution, it would have been never able to persuade this huge amount of people in the world to stay at their homes. It is because administering major part of the world, from macro managements to earning a livings, is possible through connection with computers or mobile phones and it made imposition of the house quarantine possible for containing the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Some analysts believe that there is a possibility that some powers have planned such a dangerous plot for threatening the live of humanity in order to take advantage of the resulted climate from the outbreak of the virus for their expansionist policies. Like the World Wars I and II which broke out because of plots of some western countries for more dominance and it led to the rise of power and authority of some rich countries in the world, and its result was the formation of United Nations and the United Nations Security Council which gave veto right to five countries and it was dictated to the world. The world community with the global sustainable peace plan and formation of new governing through the United Nations dictated new form of centralized hegemony without any precondition to all countries in the world.

A strong belief lies in these analyses about the grandeur and emergence of this dangerous virus that the post-Coronavirus world may have more dangerous consequences in thoughts of the think-tanks and it may be like what happened after two world wars and formation of the United Nations for a global order and its consequences, and another method for ruling in the human societies; and its type and style comparatively is related to the modern mass media and even to the virtual space dominance with the modern distributed tools in the world or actually in the Cybernetic Capacity in Rolling Theory.

The grounds for preparing decision-makings for materializing this belief of fight with Re-Appearance can be the main goal of this theory and even making it a tool for its implementation because the West during the Renaissance era with magnifying the mistakes of the deviated Christian and Jewish clerics weakened humans’ connection with divine science, and comparatively cut it and they just limited human to only rely on experimental and materialistic sciences and their effort resulted in severing man’s relation with God. Maybe in those days the issue of the End Time, which has been highlighted and noticed today, might not have been in the minds of Western, Eastern and Zionists theoreticians like what is today, and after the emergence of the Islamic Revolution, this theory of how to fight with the Islamic Revolution is getting more noticeable than ever.

With some pessimistic view let’s have a look at the performance and measures taken by our own Information and Telecommunications Minister. Exactly at the time when people stayed at their homes during the lockdown, he doubled the speed of internet and even offered free internet service. This means that human does not feel tired and uselessness at home as custodians of the cybernetic capacity theory exactly want, those people ,who planned to push people into the house quarantine, imposed the biggest maneuver of active presence of people in the virtual world under the pretext of the Coronavirus, at least for now. This very perilous phenomenon can make the human community more attached and reliant on the virtual world in the post-Coronavirus era; the world which is run by the superpowers and ready-to serve internet users account for 99 percent of it.

So placing the Noor-1 Satellite in the orbit is considered as a source of concern for the West who fears that the Zionist current may lose its monopoly and control over of the world cybernetics.

So spending and financing on this topic is more necessary than bread for the pious people and those who believe in resistance and Re-Appearance and today in such a highway for accurate information dissemination, we are more responsible.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Italy will announce before the end of this week its plans for the gradual ease of measures starting from May 4 from a lockdown imposed to fight the coronavirus emergency, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Tuesday.

The lockdown, closing most Italian businesses and preventing people from leaving their homes for all but essential needs, has been in place since March 9, putting a major strain on the euro zone’s third-largest economy.

“I wish I could say: let’s reopen everything. Immediately. We start tomorrow morning … But such a decision would be irresponsible. It would make the contagion curve go up in an uncontrolled way and would nullify all the efforts we have made so far,” Mr. Conte wrote in a Facebook post.

“We must act on the basis of a national (reopening) plan, which however takes into account the territorial peculiarities.”

After the government shuttered businesses not deemed essential to the supply chain on March 22, calls have recently been growing from industry lobbies to reopen some activities to prevent an economic catastrophe.

Italy’s Treasury expects the economy to contract by around 8 percent this year, two sources close to the matter told Reuters on Monday, underscoring the negative impact of the nationwide restrictions.

Mr. Conte said the easing of restrictions would happen on the basis of a thorough study and scientific data and not to “satisfy a part of public opinion or to satisfy the requests of some product categories, individual companies or specific regions”.

“The easing brings with it the real risk of a decided increase in the contagion curve and we must be prepared to contain this ascent to the minimum levels so that the risk of contagion is ‘tolerable’,” he added.

Such a plan would not only ensure that companies followed the necessary safety precautions at work, but that is also considered the flow of workers such as opening would generate and its impact on public transport, especially during peak times.

“The easing of the measures must take place on the basis of a well-structured and articulated plan,” he added.

The number of new COVID-19 cases dropped to 2,256 on Monday, the lowest level in well over a month, the Civil Protection Agency said.

The total death toll stood at 24,114, the second-highest in the world after that of the United States.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Tuesday that any lifting of lockdowns to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus must be gradual, and if restrictions were to be relaxed too soon, there would be a resurgence of infections.

Lockdowns have proved effective, and people must be ready for a new way of living after lifting measures to allow society to function while the coronavirus is being kept in check, said Takeshi Kasai, WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific.

We must adapt our lives and health systems along with the epidemic, Kasai told an online press conference.

“At least until a vaccine, or a very effective treatment, is found, this process will need to become our new no Governments considering lifting lockdown measures should do so carefully and in stages, and continue to monitor the epidemic situation, he said. So long as the coronavirus is circulating, no country is safe from a potentially overwhelming outbreak, he said, Reuters reported.

“Individuals and society need to be ready for a new way of living,” he said.

While the Western Pacific has in recent weeks been much less hard hit by the epidemic than the United States or Europe, there has been an increase in cases in Japan and Singapore, among other countries.

Kasai also warned that the epidemic must not disrupt vaccination programs against other diseases like polio, measles, and rubella. Otherwise, the Western Pacific could face a new crisis when health systems are already strained, he said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lockdown in India until May 3 in a bid to contain the continued spread of the coronavirus, but said that some states which have avoided outbreaks may be allowed to resume “important activities.”

Speaking in a televised address on Tuesday, Modi said it was vital that the virus is prevented from impacting parts of the country that remain unaffected.

“My request to all my countrymen is that coronavirus will not be allowed to spread across new areas at any cost,” said Modi, who wore a scarf covering his mouth and nose which he removed before speaking. “We have to be very careful about hotspots. We will have to keep a close watch on the places that are expected to become hotspots.”

The “complete” 21-day lockdown for India’s 1.3 billion people came into force at the end of the day on March 24 and was set to expire on Tuesday, April 14.

Since the lockdown was enforced, only essential services have been operational. Those include water, electricity, health services, fire services, grocery stores, and municipal services.

All regular shops, commercial establishments, factories, workshops, offices, markets and places of worship have been closed and interstate buses and metros have been suspended. Construction activity was also halted during this period.

“Until May 3, all of us in India will have to remain in lockdown. During this time, we have to follow the same discipline as we have been doing,” Modi said, CNN reported.

Prior to Modi’s address, several Indian states had ordered extended lockdowns until April 30, in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading. Those included Maharashtra, the center of the worst outbreak in the country.

While the lockdown measures will continue, Modi said that some states and districts that have shown to have avoided an outbreak “could be allowed to resume important activities but with conditions.”

“Until April 20, all districts, neighborhoods, and states will be closely monitored to see how strictly they are implementing the rules,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister did not offer any specifics but said “detailed guidelines” will be issued by the government on Wednesday.

India is the world’s second-most populous country and the fifth-biggest economy, but there are fears that the country’s health systems would not be able to cope with a major outbreak. The country has reported 10,363 coronavirus cases, including at least 339 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

In his speech, Modi thanked citizens for adhering to the lockdown restrictions over the past three weeks.

“You have faced difficulties to save yourself and the nation,” Modi said. “I understand the great difficulties you are facing regarding food, the lack of movement. Some had to stay away from their families. You are fulfilling duties as disciplined soldiers for the sake of the nation.”

He said that India had made efforts to ensure major outbreaks — such as those seen in Europe or the United States — did not spread in the country.

“Today, the pandemic is global. Compared to other countries, India has made efforts to prevent infection here,” Modi said.

“India didn’t wait for the problem to escalate. Instead, as soon as the problem appeared, we tried to stop it by making swift decisions. I can’t imagine what the situation would have been had such quick decisions not been taken.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Despite “positive signs” from some countries, it is too early to relax measures aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus, the World Health Organization’s European office said Wednesday, April 8.

“Now is not the time to relax measures,” WHO regional director for Europe, Hans Kluge, told a news conference, AFP reported.

“It is the time to once again double and triple our collective efforts to drive towards suppression with the whole support of society.”

Kluge called on “all countries” to strengthen their efforts in 3 main areas.

Firstly, protecting health service workers, including training and making sure they have the necessary support structures.

Second, authorities needed to focus on stopping and slowing the spread of COVID-19 by using public health measures aimed at separating “healthy people from suspected and probable cases.”

Third, governments and authorities had to continuously communicate with communities to make people conform to “current and possible future measures.”

Several European countries have announced plans to start easing the restrictive measures introduced to curb the spread of the disease.

On Monday, April 6, Austria announced plans to start opening some businesses and public parks from April 14.

Denmark and Norway, who have both adopted strategies of “semi-confinement,” have also signaled to loosen some measures later in April.

WHO Europe noted that while cases in Spain and Italy – Europe’s worst-hit countries – were still increasing, the rate of increase seemed to have slowed following the introduction of restrictive measures and lockdowns.

It also noted progress in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

But Kluge expressed alarm at the “dramatic increase in virus spread” in Turkey over the last week, and said a fresh surge had been observed in Sweden.

Cases in Ukraine, Belgium, and Norway were also still on the rise.

WHO Europe reported that a total of 687,236 confirmed cases had been reported across the continent, with 52,824 deaths.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that jobs with the highest risk of exposure to coronavirus will remain shut down until April 19, while low-risk jobs may resume activity from April 11.

“Both economic activities and health protocols can be carried out together. All our administrative, productive and economic activities must continue, provided that all health protocols are followed by everyone,” President Rouhani said on Sunday during a meeting of the national HQ to combat coronavirus.

He noted that the ‘smart distancing’ plan was discussed in length during the meeting on Sunday.

“All low-risk jobs in all provinces across the country can resume activity from April 11,” President Rouhani said. “But high-risk jobs, such as sports complexes, will remain shut down until April 19. Further decisions regarding these professions will be made afterward.”

“As suggested by the Ministry of Health, we have decided to go by a step-by-step process regarding the resumption of activities,” he added.

According to Rouhani, government offices across the country which have been active so far will continue their work with two-thirds of their personnel present at their workplace from April 11.

“Anyone who has contracted coronavirus is prohibited from going to work or to public places. Failure to inform the workplace of having been infected is considered a crime,” the president warned.

Rouhani went on to reassure people that 85% of cases have recovered by self-quarantine and without any treatment.

The president also informed that any commute between provinces is prohibited until April 19.

Educational centers and religious sites will also remain shut until April 19, Rouhani added.

He said the next meeting of the anti-coronavirus HQ will convene on April 12.
