Exports of steel products up 5%

Iran exported over 3.107 million tons of steel products during the five-month period from March 21 to July 21, an increase of five percent from the same time span last year.

Meanwhile, the country’s nine major steel companies exported 483,510 tons of steel products during the mentioned period, down 24 percent from last year’s figure, IRNA reported.

The value of the country’s minerals and mining industry exports stood at $3.763 billion in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21).

Iran exported over $10.7 billion worth of minerals and mining products last year, accounting for 22 percent of the country’s total exports.

Based on the country’s Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan (2016-2021), the steel industry’s annual exports should reach 15 million tons.

Iran is currently the world’s 13th biggest steel producer and the country also plans to rise to the seventh place by 2021.

Iran achieves significant growth in agricultural processing products

Export of agricultural processing and complementary products in the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 21) registered a significant 21 and 36 percent growth as compared to the same period last year in value and weight, respectively.

The report put the export value of agricultural processing and complementary products in the first four months of the past Iranian calendar year (March 20-July 20, 2017) at $1.586 billion.

Given the above issue, the export value of agricultural processing and complementary products in the first four months of the current year (March 21-July 21) at $1.926 billion.

With due observance to the said issue, it can be concluded that export of agricultural processing and complementary products has achieved significant growth in the current year as compared to last year.

One of the best methods of generating employment and increasing non-agricultural incomes in rural areas is the creation and development of agricultural processing and complementary industries. On the other hand, creation of these industries is considered as the most effective way to reduce agricultural waste.

Agricultural processing and complementary industries is what that deals with the processing of vegetable and animal products including agricultural, horticultural, fisheries, livestock, forests and rangeland.

Iran exports $3.7bn minerals in first fourth months

Iran has exported 20,917,000 tons of mineral products, valued at some $3.763 billion, in the first fourth month of current [Iranian calendar] year 1397 (March 21 – July 22).

According to a report published by Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iraq, China and United Arab Emirates (UAE) had a total of 40 percent share in Iranian mineral imports in the aforementioned period.

Also, Iran has exported $15,450 million in the same period which shows a 14.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Iran has aimed to export $10 billion of mineral products in current year and the statistics demonstrate that it has achieved 37 percent of its aim in the first fourth months.

According to reports, Iran’s total mineral exports in [Iranian calendar] years of 1396 and 1395 reached some $9 billion and $6.6 billion respectively.

As per the 6th development plan of the country, Iran has aimed to increase the value of nonoil exports to $112,739 million by the year 1400.
