President Criticizes Hypocrisy of Western Powers, Calls for Strategic Domestic Planning

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at the National Congress on “The Role of Islamic Councils and Public Participation in the Constitution” on Tuesday, Pezeshkian said: “On one hand, sanctions and economic restrictions block the nation’s development; on the other, the same actors present themselves as caring for our people. Those who have turned the world into a scene of killings and plunder now claim to uphold human rights.”

Pezeshkian highlighted that the country’s core problem is not a lack of authority, but the absence of a clear development plan and vision for cities and regions. He stressed that granting authority without a comprehensive plan leads to chaos. “Until we know where our cities are headed and what plans are in place for each region, delegation of authority will not be effective,” he said.

He noted that Tehran, Karaj, Qazvin, Varamin, and surrounding areas face serious challenges, including severe water shortages, land subsidence, and environmental issues. “If a comprehensive, science-based plan had been established from the beginning to determine how much development and population load these areas could sustain, we would not be facing such crises today,” Pezeshkian said. He emphasized that each city and building must be constructed according to precise technical, social, economic, and environmental guidelines, after which authority can be responsibly delegated to local officials.

The president also addressed foreign pressures, asserting that external actors see Iran as vulnerable due to perceived difficulties within the country. “They apply sanctions and economic restrictions while pretending to care for our people. Those same powers, who have committed widespread massacres, now claim to defend human rights,” he said.

Pezeshkian specifically referenced humanitarian crises in Gaza, Lebanon, and Palestine, saying civilians—including women, children, and the elderly—are indiscriminately targeted, yet the perpetrators speak of human rights. “They create problems for our country while presenting themselves as the world’s moral guardians,” he added.

Turning to domestic policy, Pezeshkian outlined recent structural reforms, particularly in currency allocation, aimed at eliminating rent-seeking, monopolies, and corruption. He clarified that government subsidies were not removed but redistributed directly to all citizens, ensuring fairness and reducing hidden inequality.

He explained that each citizen now receives a monthly subsidy equivalent to one million tomans, calibrated to account for inflation, and sufficient to cover basic necessities. “This approach benefits lower-income households while addressing the longstanding unfair distribution that previously favored wealthier groups,” Pezeshkian said.

On fuel and energy pricing, Pezeshkian emphasized that revenues would be transparently and fairly directed to all citizens, rather than being captured by specific groups exploiting the system. “The government’s priority is justice, not the enrichment of special interests,” he said.

Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of empowering local councils and community-based initiatives. He stressed that reform starts at the neighborhood level, where citizens can actively participate in solving issues related to employment, healthcare, and welfare. “Neighborhoods themselves are a source of power,” he said. “When people come together with clear plans, they can address local challenges without direct government intervention.”

He encouraged active participation, saying: “Anyone who claims they can solve a problem is welcome to take responsibility. The government is prepared to delegate authority and resources to those willing to act—but the tasks and objectives must be clearly defined.”

The president called on media and oversight bodies to closely monitor government actions. “If any favoritism or misallocation occurs, the public should know. Our goal is to ensure that government resources reach everyone fairly,” he said. He emphasized that political motivations do not guide these reforms; the priority is preventing rent-seeking and corruption.

Acknowledging the difficulties in structural reform, Pezeshkian cautioned that progress would take time. “Problems are not new; they have accumulated over years. Effective reform requires realistic assessments of our capacities, limits, and threats, and collective decision-making based on these realities,” he said. “President ”

Pezeshkian reiterated that successful change begins with clear planning and responsible delegation. Citing ongoing projects involving universities such as Sharif and Tarbiat Modares to address water management and energy efficiency, he stressed that authority has been given to capable institutions to implement practical solutions.

“Until we can properly organize neighborhoods, expecting to transform the entire country overnight is unrealistic,” Pezeshkian concluded. “The government is ready to delegate responsibility and authority, but precise objectives and actionable plans must first be established.”

President Will Not Accept a Weak or Fragmented Iran

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking on Thursday, during a meeting with political activists in South Khorasan Province—his 16th provincial visit as part of the “National Consensus Government” tour—Pezeshkian said unity and reaching a shared national outlook take time and cannot be achieved overnight.

“Anyone who claims they can solve the country’s problems quickly and better should step forward—we would even kiss their hand,” he said. “But if they fail, they must be held accountable.”

The president emphasized that provincial managers are now being selected from within their own regions and cultural contexts. He highlighted the appointment of Sunni Baluch, Kurdish, Arab, and female officials to provincial leadership positions, calling it unprecedented in Iran’s administrative history.

He also noted that broader powers have been delegated to provincial governors to prevent centralized, top-down decision-making. Initiatives such as neighborhood-based, school-centered, and mosque-centered participation are being pursued to strengthen public involvement in governance.

“Change is not easy, but the path is being pursued firmly,” he said.

Pezeshkian described public participation in decision-making as one of the core priorities of his administration. He cited progress in community-supported school construction and reiterated the government’s commitment to justice in education, healthcare, and politics.

Acknowledging unfinished reforms, he said change takes time, particularly given limited financial resources. On water management, he said more than 80 full professors from leading Iranian universities are designing a national plan, with regional implementation involving governors, local officials, universities, and civil society organizations.

Asking for help, he stressed, does not mean the government lacks a plan. “No one can solve problems alone,” he said. “Those who claim they can fix everything overnight should come forward—we will give them authority.”

Pezeshkian pointed to concrete improvements in energy management. When his government took office, diesel reserves were far below required levels, but they have since increased significantly. Solar energy capacity has expanded from 1,000 megawatts to over 3,000 megawatts, with 200 megawatts added weekly.

He also said gas flaring—costing Iran billions of dollars annually—has begun to be curbed, and power shortages have been reduced compared to worst-case projections. More than 7,000 schools are under construction nationwide, with 2,000 already opened before the academic year.

The president confirmed that the North–South railway project in South Khorasan will be completed despite financial constraints and highlighted new measures to combat smuggling through integrated national data systems.

Addressing inflation, Pezeshkian said no single policy can solve it quickly and invited anyone—even government critics—to help if they have real solutions.

He rejected the idea that relations with Europe or the West alone could resolve Iran’s problems. Referring to past nuclear negotiations, he said Western powers ultimately demanded that Iran abandon enrichment, missile capabilities, and regional influence.

“They want a weak and fragmented Iran,” he said. “But as an Iranian, I will not accept a weak or divided Iran. I want an Iran with power and dignity.”

Pezeshkian stressed that building a strong Iran requires collective effort across all ethnicities, religions, genders, and beliefs, based solely on competence and expertise. He criticized empty slogans and warned against unqualified individuals offering simplistic solutions to complex economic challenges.

“Change happens gradually, not suddenly,” he said. “Our progress is tangible compared to the past, but transformation takes time. Provinces must help build themselves—we will support them and grant the necessary authority.”

The president concluded by calling for national solidarity, saying only through cooperation and realism can Iran overcome its long-standing challenges and move toward strength and stability.

President Urges Acceleration of Gas Flare Collection

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at the signing ceremony for the largest gas flare collection project in Iran, Pezeshkian said the initiative—implemented by the National Iranian South Oil Company in partnership with private and knowledge-based firms—marks a major milestone in reducing environmental pollution and optimizing energy use.

“These gases are part of our national wealth. We must not waste even a single day in collecting them,”

the president said, adding that any issues faced by investors should be immediately reported and resolved without bureaucratic delays.

The 14th government has launched 12 contracts for flare gas collection and sales in Aghajari, Gachsaran, Masjed Soleyman, and Ahvaz (Khuzestan Province). The 18-month plan aims to:

Eliminate 30 flare stacks across 11 operational units, Prevent the daily loss of over 295 million cubic feet of flare gas, Generate about $550 million in annual revenue, Produce 800,000 tons of gas liquids annually, Boost feedstock for petrochemical plants, Inject 200 million cubic feet of gas into the national grid, and Reduce the country’s energy imbalance.

Pezeshkian urged stakeholders to shorten the project’s implementation time, stressing that environmental and health benefits must go hand-in-hand with economic progress.

“We must clear the path for investors. If a problem arises, don’t get caught up in paperwork—contact us directly. The government is fully committed to resolving bottlenecks quickly,” he said.

Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, also present at the ceremony, announced that seven flare gas collection projects have already been completed since the start of the 14th administration. “President ”

He added that by the end of the current year, an additional 150 million cubic feet of gas will be collected daily, with plans to reach 20 million cubic meters per day by the end of 2026—a record figure for Iran’s oil and gas industry.

The National Iranian Oil Company’s (NIOC) managing director stated that the Ministry of Oil aims to collect 520 million cubic feet of flare gas nationwide.

He explained that the 12 contracts signed today will account for nearly 300 million cubic feet, and with continued cooperation between the ministry and the private sector, 18 more contracts are expected to be finalized by December 2025.

Major long-term initiatives include two large-scale projects to upgrade and construct flare gas collection facilities in the East Karoun region—covering the Karoun, Marun, Aghajari, and Gachsaran oilfields—and the establishment of three major gas and gas-liquid plants (3100, 3200, and Kharg).

With a total investment exceeding $4.8 billion, these projects are expected to create a collection capacity of 1.9 billion cubic feet per day within the next two years, marking a significant environmental and economic achievement for Iran’s energy sector.

President: Depriving Iranian nation of its legal nuclear rights is unacceptable

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated Iran’s legitimate right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, stressing that depriving Iranians of their legal rights is entirely unacceptable.

In a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday afternoon, Pezeshkian emphasized that the Islamic Republic is committed to international law and has confidence in the transparency of its nuclear activities.

Referring to the recent 12-day Israeli-U.S. war and the renewed push by European countries to revive negotiations, he said that Iran has never sought war, but has instead played an effective role in promoting peace and stability across the region.

“We were attacked by the Zionist regime, in violation of all international standards and laws. Then, while negotiations were ongoing, the United States bombed Iranian nuclear facilities that were fully subject to international inspection,” Pezeshkian pointed out.

He also criticized the silence of global institutions and governments — including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) — in the face of the aggressive and criminal assault on Iran.

“At the very least, our nation expected the IAEA to issue a condemnation in line with its own regulations and legal responsibilities,” he added.

Pezeshkian also hailed the relations between Iran and Armenia as historic and friendly, saying the Islamic Republic is eager to pursue constructive interaction with all neighboring countries.

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian has once again underscored the critical importance of national unity, saying that the Americans will not be able to exploit the Iranian situation if they realize unity and empathy within the country.

Pezeshkian made the remarks after Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi presented a report on the fifth round of indirect Iran-U.S. talks, during a cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon.

The president stressed the need of maintaining respectful interaction and social cohesion at every level, especially in the health sector. “We must work to improve the livelihood of the people,” he said.

Pezeshkian also called for expanding and strengthening relations with countries in the region and beyond.

“We are well capable of solving our domestic problems”, he said, adding that many issues can be resolved by developing relations and cooperation, especially with neighbors.

In the cabinet meeting, Araqchi was among several ministers who presented their reports on the latest developments in their respective departments.

Araqchi has led five rounds of negotiations—three in Muscat and two in Rome—with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi.

The president stressed the need of maintaining respectful interaction and social cohesion at every level, especially in the health sector. “We must work to improve the livelihood of the people,” he said.

President Urges Muslims to Stand Against Injustice

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at the International Conference on “Resistance Diplomacy and Commemoration of Martyrs of Service,” Pezeshkian paid tribute to those who lost their lives in service to justice and the people. He described the late President Ebrahim Raisi as a tireless manager who was deeply committed to public service and social equity.

“Martyr Raisi was a tireless leader,” Pezeshkian said. “The Supreme Leader, government officials, and administrators of our country live among the people and strive to uphold justice and defend the oppressed.”

Quoting the will of Imam Ali (AS), Pezeshkian underscored the importance of piety and righteous deeds, stating that these values apply broadly across political, educational, economic, and administrative spheres. “Imam Ali advised not to chase worldly desires even if they pursue you, and to never regret the loss of material possessions, as it is the pursuit of worldly gain that distances people from truth,” he added.

Pezeshkian criticized materialism and highlighted the danger it poses to truth and justice. “When we are not obsessed with worldly gains, we can truly stand with the oppressed and oppose the oppressors,” he said.

He rejected claims that Islamic Republic officials are materialistic, citing personal experiences visiting the modest homes of late President Raisi’s mother in Mashhad and the late Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. “When I visited Raisi’s family home, it was even more humble than an average household,” he said. “The Omani Foreign Minister could not believe Amir-Abdollahian lived in such a simple house. These homes are beyond the imagination of those used to power and wealth.”

Pezeshkian emphasized that the country’s top officials, including the Supreme Leader, live modest lives. “If the claims made by American officials were true, we wouldn’t see such humility. What they accuse us of is a reflection of their own actions,” he noted. “In Iran, the honesty and simplicity of our leaders are evident.”

He said the simplicity of Iranian officials surprises foreign visitors and carries more influence than any propaganda. “When they see the lives of our president, ministers, governors, and clerics, they are astonished,” he said. “This has a deeper impact than words.”

The president reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s stance in support of Palestine and Gaza. “Our position is clear against those who wear fine clothes and preach human rights while committing the most brutal acts,” he declared. “There is no barbarity worse than the indiscriminate killing of innocent women and children.”

He stressed that Muslims have a religious and moral obligation to confront injustice anywhere in the world. “If we remain silent in the face of oppression, we must question not only our faith but our humanity,” he said.

Pezeshkian said that achieving justice and serving the people remain the primary goals of Iran’s leadership. “When justice prevails, there is no reason for conflict or aggression,” he said. “Injustice arises from greed and the desire to seize what belongs to others.””Muslims ”

He highlighted the need to govern based on justice for all people—not just one group, ethnicity, or party. “If we follow our base desires—‘my wealth, my position, my tribe’—we stray from the path of righteousness,” he said. “We must pursue truth, not personal gain.””Muslims ”

The president once again honored the legacy of the late Raisi, describing him as a selfless public servant. “He worked with love and dedication to serve the people and implement his beliefs,” Pezeshkian said. “The memory of Raisi and all nameless martyrs who gave their lives for justice must live on in our society.”

In closing, Pezeshkian prayed that the Iranian people and leaders remain true to the path of justice and not be led astray by selfish desires. “We must always remember that we will be held accountable for our actions,” he warned.

Quoting Imam Khomeini, he concluded, “Conflicts arise from ego and selfishness. True service to the people leaves no room for dispute. The path to serve others is open across Iran, the Middle East, and the world—if only one rolls up their sleeves and takes action.”

During the conference, President Pezeshkian also honored the families of the victims of the tragic May plane crash that claimed the lives of President Raisi and several top officials.

TEHRAN (Iran News) On Sunday morning, and as Lebanese began to converge on Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium for the funerals of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine, the president on his X account called the two resistance leaders the “the valiant sons” of the Lebanese nation.

Writing separately in Arabic and Persian, the president said Nasrallah and Safieddine were “heroes who stayed true to their pledge and defended the dignity of the [Islamic] umma.”

“#we_stay_true_to_our_pledge,” the message read.

Nasrallah was the secretary-general of the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah for 32 years, until he was assassinated in an Israeli strike in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut, on September 27 last year.

Safieddine was Nasrallah’s deputy and was named Hezbollah’s new secretary-general following Nasrallah’s assassination. He, too, was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in Dahieh on October 3.

Delegates from the highest ranks of the Iranian government as well as private citizens have headed to Lebanon to participate in the funeral for Nasrallah and Safieddine, due later today.

TEHRAN (Iran News)The president was speaking in a ceremony held in Tehran on Monday to honor Iran’s medal winners of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Addressing champions and their coaches, Pezeshkian said, “Your success on international stages inspires the people of Iran. We will do everything in our power to remove obstacles in your path and pave the way for you to reach even greater and more honorable heights. We hope for a day when our beloved Iran stands as a flagbearer of excellence in all fields.”

He appreciated the champions, coaches, and managers, stating, “You have not only brought medals but also joy to the hearts of the Iranian people and strengthened national pride. Meeting you fills me with a sense of pride and honor.”

The president highlighted the importance of making efforts as well as unity and belief in national capabilities, emphasizing the need to create an environment for development in all sectors including sports, President.ir reported.

Stressing the necessity of setting aside differences and fostering unity among all segments of society, he said, “No power can bring us down except the divisions and obstacles we create for ourselves. If we believe that every Iranian, regardless of ethnicity or religion, can be the best, nothing will stop us. We must join hands, set aside our differences, and aim for great heights.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president referred to the goals outlined in the 20-Year Vision Document for Iran’s future, emphasizing that Iran must inspire the region and the world.

“In science, technology, sports, economy, and other fields, we must strive to reach the pinnacle, but this position is not easily attained; it requires hard work and effort. Our government has a duty to provide the necessary groundwork to achieve this goal,” he said.
