]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Zabihollah Poorsheib from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Karate 1-Premier League event in Dubai on Sunday.

Poorsheib defeated Daniyar Yuldashev from Kazakhstan 8-5 in the men’s under-84 kilogram Kumite.

His countryman Mahdi Khodabakhshi also won a bronze medal in the class after defeating Kazakhstan’s Igor Chikhmarev 1-0 in the third-place match.

Nearly 600 fighters from 85 countries, including all but two of the reigning world champions and 10 out of the 12 defending Premier League grand winners, took part in the competition.
