S. Korean co. assisting INSIG with installation of machinery

Abdolkarim Pahlavani informed that the CEO of the South Korean company paid a visit to INSIG in the southern province of Khuzestan on Thursday to improve the quality of the products of the Iranian company using modern technology and increase their competitiveness with foreign rivals.

“By cooperation of MJM, hydrostatic pipe testing machine would be reinstalled in the Iranian company after several years of being purchased making INSIG able to manufacture API pipes at highest international standards,” he said.

As reported, annual capacity of Iranian National Steel Industrial Group hovers around 1,435,000 tons of steel products and 430,000 tons steel ingots. In addition to supplying the main part of the country needs, it is one of important exporters of steel products.

It also produces fittings and wire, seamless pipe and beam. The Industrial Group includes steelmaking plant, Kowsar rolling plant, fittings and wire rolling plant, beam rolling plant, pipe plant and machine manufacturing plant.

Ruptured oil pipeline in SW Iran resumes operation

According to Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company, the pipeline is now back on track after days of round-the-clock repair work and is currently supplying feedstock to Isfahan Refinery.

The accident happened on Monday when a construction loader vehicle collided with the pipeline during an attempt to repair a section of it between the cities of Ahvaz and Omidiyeh, in the oil-rich Khuzestan province, leading the line to catch fire.

The fire was completely put out on Tuesday, but some parts of the pipeline needed extra work to ensure the safety of crude transfer.

Village in Khuzestan evacuated after gas pipeline explosion

The accident happened while workers were repairing a section of the Ahvaz-Omidiyeh pipeline, he informed.

“The fire started when a loader hit the pipeline,” he said.

“The explosion happened in the vicinity of Salehabad village in about 45 minutes,” he said, “Subsequently, it caused a blast at the liquefied natural gas pipeline nearby.”

“The families living there were immediately moved to a nearby village to prevent any casualties,” he added.

Unfortunately, the houses of the villagers have been burnt in fire.

As reported, the fire was eventually controlled.

Omidiyeh is located 125 km southeast of Ahvaz, capital of the oil-rich province.

Self-sufficiency in oil pipelines, telecommunications hits 80%

Chief executive of Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) Abbas-Ali Jafarinasab said that more than 80 percent of parts and equipment related to the oil pipelines and telecommunications is manufactured inside the country.

Manufacturing required parts and equipment inside the country has been put atop agenda since 1993, he said, adding, “this issue caused the country not to face critical problem in this respect especially in sanctions period.”

The self-sufficiency process began with manufacturing smaller parts including nuts and bolts, flanges and fittings, he maintained.

Given the above issue, expert engineers of the company took giant strides in manufacturing more complex and complicated components such as mechanics of fluids for pumps, etc.

Presently, the country has gained salient achievements in manufacturing oil pipelines and telecommunications systems in such a way that some domestic companies have voiced their readiness to manufacture advanced turbines for world’s most prestigious companies, he said, adding, “for example, the latest contract concluded in this regard is related to manufacturing four 3-MW gas turbines along with its accessories.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Jafarinasab said that IOPTC possesses more than 165 gas turbines within the framework of 16 models manufactured by foreign companies. Therefore, planning has been made for self-sufficiency of manufacturing relevant parts and equipment since 20 years ago due to the international restrictions.

In conclusion, CEO of IOPTC pointed to naming the current year after “Supporting Iranian Products” as emphasized by supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and said, “IOPTC will make its utmost effort in line with materializing most objectives of this company in the current year (started March 21, 2018).”
