Iran Not to Bow to Pressure or Coercion

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking during a ceremony on Saturday, Pezeshkian pointed to the difficult conditions facing the country and underscored the government’s determination to overcome them.

“We will strive for Iran to the very last drop of our blood. Despite all the shortages, problems, pressures, and injustices, the government, by God’s grace and relying on the unity and cohesion of society, will endeavor to overcome these hardships and will not allow any obstacle to remain in the path of the nation’s dignity,” he stated.

The president continued, “We will not bow in surrender to difficulties. Despite all the troubles and pressures, even if certain powers stand against the Iranian nation with unfair conduct, our resolve to stand firm and advance will not weaken.”

Pezeshkian added, “Even if the world and powerful states stand against us to force us to bow before them, they should know that we will not bow to these difficulties. Despite all the troubles and problems they have created for us, and despite the wounds inflicted upon society, we must heal these wounds.”

The president’s remarks came amid significant American military buildup around Iran that has followed deadly US- and Israeli-backed riots across the country in January that cost the lives of thousands.

Meanwhile referring to the determination and efforts of disabled and differently-abled athletes, he continued:

“You did not surrender in the face of difficulties; likewise, despite all the problems that have been created and the wounds inflicted upon our society, we will not yield to hardships or bullying. We must heal the wounds of our society. We are one nation and one country; we must unite as one and stand firm against adversity. We must set aside differences and problems and place a balm on the wounds of society.”

The President expressed hope that differently-abled athletes would continue to be a source of pride as in the past and said:

“I promise that we will provide the necessary conditions and opportunities for your growth and advancement.”

Addressing the American military posturing on Thursday, Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s envoy to the United Nations, said the Islamic Republic would not initiate war, but would respond firmly to any act of aggression.

“In the event that it (the Islamic Republic) is subjected to military aggression, Iran will respond decisively and proportionately in the exercise of its inherent right of self-defense under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations,” the ambassador said in a letter addressed to the UN secretary-general and the president of the Security Council.

Earlier this week, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also issued a strong warning against any fresh American military adventurism targeting the Islamic Republic, noting, “The American president [Donald Trump] repeatedly says that their military is the strongest in the world.” “The strongest military in the world, however, can sometimes be struck so hard that it cannot even get back on its feet,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

“They keep saying, ‘We have sent an aircraft carrier toward Iran.’ Fine—an aircraft carrier is certainly a dangerous piece of equipment. But more dangerous than the carrier is the weapon capable of sending it to the bottom of the sea,” the Leader noted.

Pezeshkian: Officials Must Change Their Conduct Toward the People

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking after visiting the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Revolution alongside members of the Cabinet on the eve of the Ten-Day Dawn commemorating the 47th anniversary of the Revolution, Pezeshkian said the nation has endured difficult weeks due to behavioral and governance failures, adding that officials themselves are “both part of the problem and the solution.”

He said many crises could have been avoided had officials aligned their conduct with the Imam’s recommendations and recognized the people as the pillars of society. “What should never have happened did happen,” he said, “because we failed to see the people.”

Referring to Imam Ali’s (AS) guidance to Malik al-Ashtar in Nahj al-Balagha, the President emphasized that rulers must prioritize justice, truth, and public satisfaction. “When the general public is dissatisfied, the approval of a small elite is meaningless,” he said, adding that elite groups often place the greatest burden on rulers while offering the least support in times of crisis.

Pezeshkian stressed that governance must be centered on service to the people, not authority over them. “People judge us by our behavior and our justice, not by slogans or speeches,” he said. “We have no right to ignore the rights of even a single human being.”

The President underlined the need for officials to change their behavior toward citizens, calling the people the true backbone of the nation. “If we wish to follow the path shown by Imam Ali and the late Imam regarding justice and people’s rights, we must stand with the people and treat them with compassion,” he said.

He added that anyone who seeks leadership must first reform themselves before instructing others. “Self-discipline must be demonstrated through action, not words,” he noted.

Pezeshkian said no society governed by justice can be brought to its knees. “We cannot claim adherence to religious values while acting unjustly,” he said. “If we act fairly, people will accept it, and no power can destabilize a nation built on justice and truth.”

He emphasized that justice must be applied without discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, language, race, or belief, warning that hostility toward any group must not lead to unjust behavior.

“Justice is not a matter of dispute,” he said. “It is established through clear standards. People see our actions, not our claims.”

Referring to remarks by Seyed Hassan Khomeini, Pezeshkian said the late Imam’s path was rooted in the people, not in violence or bloodshed. “Those who initiated armed struggle were not accepted by the Imam,” he said.

He added that the martyrs of the Revolution did not sacrifice their lives so that officials could dominate or mistreat the people. “They gave their lives so that justice and service to the people would prevail.”

Addressing recent unrest, the President said foreign actors, including the United States, Israel, and some European countries, sought to incite division and exploit domestic problems. He acknowledged that some innocent citizens were drawn into the unrest.

However, he distinguished between peaceful protest and violent actions. “In ordinary social protests, people do not take up arms, kill security forces, or burn ambulances and markets,” he said.

“We are duty-bound to hear the voices and concerns of protesters and to resolve their issues,” Pezeshkian stressed, adding that the government is prepared to do so. At the same time, he said enemies have attempted to exploit protests to fracture society.

Pezeshkian said the presence of the country’s leadership has neutralized hostile plots and will continue to do so, but emphasized that this does not absolve officials from reforming their behavior.

In closing, he said unity around justice and truth is essential, warning that efforts to establish fairness will face resistance from those who have benefited from corruption, rent-seeking, and privilege. “These groups will oppose reform,” he said, “but justice must prevail.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) Addressing an annual conference on the Iranian capital market, themed “Resilience, Innovation, and Growth,” on Saturday, Pezeshkian said that the country’s diplomatic interactions with members of different groupings strengthen economic relations with neighbors and create a large market.

Referring to the capital market and macroeconomics, he noted that his administration is trying to prevent a budget deficit to facilitate economic activity and support investors’ work.

“In this year’s budget, we are trying to compare the budget and revenue through the meetings, and trying to control expenses,” he said, adding that the government is attempting to remove obstacles by reforming and reviewing economic laws and regulations, because inflation puts pressure on people’s livelihoods.

Pointing to imbalances in the areas of water, electricity, and gas, the president said that although industrialists and manufacturers were provided with sufficient electricity, there is a need to change the consumption pattern, including by turning to renewable energies.

He also urged the people to consume energy efficiently and qualitatively, so that the God-given resources reach all.

Elsewhere in his speech, Pezeshkian stressed the need for alignment between industrial production, universities, and the government in order to overcome crises faced by the country.

The holding of this meeting after a long hiatus signifies the determination of member countries to enhance cooperation in key areas of mutual relations, he said.

He acknowledged the ECO’s long-standing efforts toward economic integration and its notable accomplishments.

However, he pointed out that many potential areas for cooperation still remain unexplored.

He mentioned the development of an ECO vision 2035 as a key initiative that promises a positive future for the region.

He also identified the creation of an ECO police force, ECOPOL, as an important unfinished project for the organization.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian addressed the serious challenges the region faces.

He stated that the area has frequently been targeted by foreign intervention and is currently affected by the largest ongoing occupation of the century, referring to the Israeli occupation of Gaza. Pezeshkian also condemned the actions in Gaza over the past two years as the most horrific genocide and crime against humanity in the world.

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian has described Iran as a land of valor and art destined for greatness, following the registration of three Iranian villages, namely Shafiabad, Soheili, and Kandolus, on the UN Tourism List.

Pezeshkian hailed the achievement on his X account on Friday, noting that the three villages, located in areas spanning from the deserts to the Alborz mountains and the shores of the Persian Gulf, have showcased Iran’s rich cultural heritage.

“Iran is a land of courage and art, embracing a great destiny. For Iran, for a global Iran, for a greater Iran,” he further said.

On Friday, the World Tourism Organization, during its fifth session, officially registered Kandolus, located in Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran, as one of the top tourist villages. The session took place in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province of China, where the results of the evaluation for the 2025 best tourism villages were announced.

Kandolus has gained international fame over the past three decades due to its unique ethnological museum, well-preserved rural area, stunning natural beauty, and rich cultural history. These attributes led the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism to nominate Kandolus for UN Tourism registration, highlighting its importance as a cultural treasure of the country.

Shafi’abad is located in Kerman Province, southeast Iran. And, Soheili village is located on Persian Gulf Qeshm Island.

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian says unity among Islamic countries could serve as a powerful deterrent against any aggression.

In a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, Pezeshkian emphasized the critical role of major Muslim nations in safeguarding the Islamic world.

Both sides held talks on the sidelines of an emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha.

The responsibility of leading Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia is heavier than ever, Pezeshkian said.

If Islamic countries stand united, he said, the Israeli regime would not dare to attack any Muslim nation.

Expressing satisfaction with the growing ties between Tehran and Riyadh, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation with Saudi Arabia across bilateral, regional, and international dimensions. “Pezeshkian”

He said that deeper cooperation would benefit not only the two nations but also the broader Muslim world and regional stability.

For his part, the Saudi Crown Prince stressed the need for long-term empowerment of Islamic nations to defend their independence and dignity and to resist excessive Israeli demands.

He called for immediate joint efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Gaza.

“Our region is in a critical state,” he said, adding that reinforcing cooperation and unity among Islamic countries is not merely an option but an absolute necessity.

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged BRICS nations to take a leading role in resisting unilateral sanctions and pushing for reforms in global governance, saying such measures threaten justice, stability, and sustainable development.

“Multilateralism and free trade are two sides of the same coin,” Pezeshkian told a virtual BRICS Summit focused on the global economy and multilateral order on Monday. “Without multilateral mechanisms, free trade becomes a tool in the hands of major powers, and without access to a free trading system, multilateralism is stripped of its meaning and function.”

He described unilateral sanctions and economic restrictions as one of the greatest threats to the international system, undermining national interests, disrupting cooperation, and making sustainable development impossible.

Pezeshkian also pointed to recent conflicts in the Middle East and Latin America – including the US-Israeli aggression against Iran in June, the genocide in Gaza, attacks on Lebanon and Yemen, and the US threats against Venezuela – as proof that the current world order had failed to ensure global peace, justice, and security.

The president called for reforms to global governance, including changes to the UN Security Council and international financial structures, and urged BRICS to develop a joint framework to counter sanctions, promote innovation and strengthen sustainable development.

Pezeshkian urges scholars to help administration address challenges

TEHRAN (Iran News) President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed gratitude to all members of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR), noting that the administration will be able to solve many issues with their cooperation.

During the ceremony commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) on Saturday, President Pezeshkian said, “My hope lies solely with the ACECR members and scholars who care about the country, and the administration will welcome them with open arms.”

At the beginning of the ceremony, President Pezeshkian paid tribute to all the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, especially the martyrs of the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime.

He referred to the sacrifices and bravery of the people of this land against the schemes of the enemies, saying: “Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the enemies of the Iranian nation have made numerous complex plans to hinder the resilience and progress of this people. They have martyred over 20,000 devoted and selfless volunteers at various times to derail the revolution, but they did not achieve their goals. If those volunteers were present today with the same spirit and sincerity, many of the current challenges would not have arisen; the enemies have deliberately taken our elites from us.”

The President emphasized the crucial role of scholars and ACECR members in saving the country, saying, “I believe this country can only be saved with the help of scholars who know, can, and have a strong will to solve the problems of the homeland.”

He further noted that the fundamental solution for change in the country lies in the services of scholars and intellectuals who are concerned about solving national problems, adding, “Today, the country faces multiple challenges such as the water crisis and land subsidence because we have disrupted the balance between resources and consumption under the pretext of development.”

Pezeshkian also referred to the continuous hostility of enemies against Iran and the peoples of the region, saying: “We witness the blatant and inhumane crimes in the region as a concrete example of this enmity. It is surprising and regrettable that a country standing for dignity and resisting aggressors is accused of terrorism by those who have provided all their equipment and resources to a criminal regime to kill innocent women and children in Gaza and other areas, in violation of all treaties and international laws, and then speak of peace, security, and human rights; this is shameful deception.”

The President pointed out the false narratives propagated by media supporting the Israeli regime, saying: “They show an image of a Zionist prisoner who has suffered from malnutrition due to the food and medicine blockade imposed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, and some so-called human rights experts accuse the resistance groups of violating human rights, without mentioning who has blocked access to water, food, and medicine for the innocent women and children in this region. Where are the international human rights organizations? Do they truly understand and comprehend human rights?”
