Also, Tractor was held to a goalless draw by Shams Azar in Qazvin. Malavan defeated Aluminum 1-0 in Arak and Foolad edged past Fajr Sepasi 2-1 in Shiraz.

On Saturday, Paykan will meet Kheybar in Tehran and Sepahan host Chadormalou in Isfahan.

Persepolis leads the table with 28 points, while relegation-threatened Mes remained bottom of the table with eight points.

It was Osmar Loss’s first match in charge after the Brazilian coach took over Persepolis as Vahid Hashemian’s replacement.
