According To Iran News, Persepolis football team defeated Shahr Khodro to move seven points clear at the top of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.

In the match held behind closed doors due to coronavirus threat at the Azadi Stadium, Persepolis beat Shahr Khodro 3-1.

Vahid Amiri opened the scoring for Persepolis in the 9th minute and Bashar Resan extended the lead for the Reds seven minutes later.

Shahr Khodro returned to the match in the 52nd minute after Farshad Faraji opened Bozidar Radosevic’s goal with a header.

Shahr Khodro could have tied the game but Mehdi Torabi made it 3-1 from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.

Elsewhere in Sirjan, Esteghlal was defeated against Gol Gohar 1-0.

Sepahan suffered a late draw against Zob Ahan in Isfahan Derby.

In Tabriz, Machine Sazi lost to Nassaji 3-0 and Foolad edged past Shahin 1-0 in Ahvaz.

On Friday, Pars Jonoubi will host Tractor in Jam, Saipa play Sanat Naft in Tehran and Naft Masjed Soleyman meet Paykan.

Persepolis sits top of the table with 44 points, followed by Sepahan and Esteghlal with 37 and 36 points, respectively.

According To Iran News, Persepolis football team defeated Tractor 2-0 to cement its place at the top of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.

Ali Alipour opened the scoring for Persepolis in the 9th minute in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Alipour’s well-struck shot from just inside the penalty area was well placed into the corner of the net.

Vahid Amiri scored the second goal in the 55th minute.

Naft Masjed Soleyman also earned a valuable victory over Sanat Naft, beating it 2-0 in its home.

Alireza Alizadeh scored in the 41st minute and Omid Singh made it 2-0 in the added time.

Persepolis now has 37 points and sits top of the table.

Second-placed Sepahan remains five points adrift of the top spot.

Tractor is third with 30 points.
