IRGC Quds Force Chief Vows Support for Palestine

According To Iran News, Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) assured the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement that he will proceed with the strategy of his predecessor, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, to support the Palestinian resistance forces.

In a message to leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa’ani paid tribute to former leader of Islamic Jihad Movement Ramadan Abdullah Shalah for devoting his life to resistance and efforts to liberate Palestine.

Commending the late Palestinian leader for his strenuous efforts in the fight against the Zionist regime, the Iranian general called on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement to follow the path of Ramadan Abdullah until the ultimate liberation of holy al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Brigadier General Qa’ani finally gave an assurance that he will stick to the strategy of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and will stand by the Palestinian forces to strengthen the axis of resistance.

The former head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement died on June 7. Shalah was born in Gaza in 1958 and became the head of the movement in 1995 after the assassination of Fathi Shaqaqi.

Ziad al-Nakhala was chosen to lead the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in 2018 because of Shalah’s illness.

Zarif offers condolences on demise of former Palestinian Jihad head

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed condolences on the death of the former secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Ramazan Abdullah Shallah.

In a message on Sunday, Zarif referred to the former Palestinian Jihad head “long history of jihad and struggle against the Zionist regime,” saying that he was a brave fighter and national figure in Palestine who spent his life bravely and selflessly on the path of resistance and liberation of Palestine and holy al-Quds Jerusalem.

“Dr. Ramazan Abdullah, in addition to being a humble and thoughtful figure who was deeply concerned with the developments in the region and the world, was particularly concerned with strengthening unity among the Palestinian people and groups and the Islamic world,” Zarif added.

The top diplomat said, “I offer my condolences to the great Palestinian people, especially to Mr. Ziad al-Nakhala, the new Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, and to all his comrades in the resistance groups, as well as to his family.”

“The Palestinian people and Iran, in particular, will remain a symbol of resistance and struggle,” Zarif concluded.

Abdullah Shallah died on Friday at the age of 62 after a long period of illness.

A professor of economics at the University of Gaza, he was one of the founders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement.

Shallah had been secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad between 27 October 1995 and 2018.

Islamic Jihad Warns Israel of Retaliatory Attack on Tel Aviv

In comments at an international conference in support of Palestinian Intifada on Thursday, Ziad al-Nakhala said if the Gaza Strip comes under Israeli attacks, the city of Tel Aviv will be devastated.

Denouncing the attempts to undermine the Palestinian resistance, he stressed the need for practical measures to ruin the so-called ‘deal of the century’.

The Islamic Jihad will turn the threats against Palestine into opportunities, Nakhala added, Al-Manar reported.

The Palestinian official finally took a swipe at the US for its efforts to bargain over the dignity of Arab citizens with the Arab countries’ money.

Pro-Palestinian people across the world are marking the International Quds Day today, an annual event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.

This year’s Quds Day on the last Friday of Ramadan is being marked against a backdrop of growing anti-US and anti-Israeli sentiments among Muslims, aggravated by the White House’s push to hammer out what it calls a peace deal between Palestine and Israel, known as the deal of the century.
