Some 1.19 million philanthropists patronize 409,000 orphans and needy children in the country, the deputy director of Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, has said.

Iranian charities abroad supported 13,000 needy orphans in various provinces during the first six months of the current [Iranian calendar] year (March 21- September 22, 2021), according to the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation.

Philanthropists donate 71% more to support orphans
Iranian benefactors have made cash contributions amounting to 15 trillion rials (about $357 million at the official rate of 42,000 rials) to orphaned children over the last [Iranian calendar] year (March 2020 – March 2021), an increase of 71 percent year on year.
