TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described a recent move by the US president to broker peace deals between Israel and some Persian Gulf Arab states as an election propaganda.

“@realDonaldTrump desperately needed a campaign photo. His son-in-law blackmailed their regional clients into giving him one,” the top Iranian diplomat tweeted on Monday.

Zarif’s comments came after US President Donald Trump on Friday announced the normalization of ties between Bahrain and Israel, the second Arab state to join a deal widely censured as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

The announcement came roughly a month after a similar announcement by Trump on a deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to forge formal ties.

All Palestinian factions have unanimously denounced the normalization agreements between Israel and the Persian Gulf Arab countries as a stab in the back of the oppressed Palestinian nation.

Iranian officials have also condemned the normalization agreements between Tel Aviv and Persian Gulf Arab states.

The Iranian foreign minister also referred to secret relations between the Persian Gulf Arab states with Israel before the announcement of the normalization of their ties with Tel Aviv.

“The only problem: ‘Peace agreements’ being signed are NOT between foes but longstanding allies. What a diplomatic coup!”, Zarif said in his Twitter message.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the deal on Saturday, saying the Manama regime had sacrificed the Palestinian cause against the occupation for the upcoming US presidential election through the “shameful” treaty.

On September 1, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the UAE has betrayed the entire Muslim world by normalizing ties with the Israeli regime, but that the betrayal will not last long.

“Of course, this situation will not last long, and the stain of shame will remain on the face of those who forgot the occupation of this country (Palestine) and the displacement of the Palestinian nation and allowed the Zionists into the region.”

Ayatollah Khamenei further expressed dismay at Abu Dhabi’s collaboration with Israel and the wicked elements at the helm of the US administration in their brutal actions against the interests of the region and the entire Islamic world.

The Leader advised the UAE to wake up as soon as possible and compensate for what it has done.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran said Saturday that Bahrain is now an accomplice to the crimes of Israel after the two announced a deal to normalize relations.

“The rulers of Bahrain will from now on be partners to the crimes of the Zionist regime as a constant threat to the security of the region and the world of Islam,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry condemned Israel’s “decades of violence, slaughter, war, terror and bloodshed in oppressed Palestine and the region”.

It said that through this “shameful and humiliating” deal, Bahrain has “scarified the Palestinian cause on the altar of American elections”.

“The oppressed and right-seeking people of Palestine and the freedom-seeking Muslims of the world, without doubt, will never accept the normalization of relations with the usurping and lawless Israeli regime, and this shameful act will remain in the historical memory of the oppressed and downtrodden Palestinian nation and the world’s freedom-seeking nations,” it said.

“The result will undoubtedly be growing anger and the lasting hatred of the oppressed people of Palestine, Muslims and the free nations of the world”.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry further warned against any act by Israel meant to create insecurity in the Persian Gulf region, saying Bahrain and its allied governments bear responsibility for its consequences.

The Friday announcement by US President Donald Trump made Bahrain the second Arab country in a month, after the United Arab Emirates, to normalize ties with Israel under US sponsorship.

Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said earlier this month that the UAE had “betrayed” the Muslim world and that he hoped they would “soon wake up and compensate for what they have done.”

Calling it a “truly historic day,” Trump said that Israel and Bahrain were establishing full diplomatic and commercial relations.

Bahrain has become the fourth Arab country to reach an agreement with Israel, which exchanged embassies with Egypt and Jordan decades ago.

Bahrain said in a joint statement it had agreed to normalize the deal with Israel at a ceremony Tuesday in the White House, where the United Arab Emirates will also sign off on its own thaw with Israel announced in mid-August.

Bahrainis opposed to the agreement vented their frustration on social media, using the hashtags “Bahrainis against normalization” and “normalization is betrayal”.

“A black day in the history of Bahrain,” wrote former lawmaker Ali al-Aswad.

Turkey also condemned the deal, saying it undermined the Palestinian cause.

“The step will be a fresh blow to efforts to defend the Palestinian cause and will further embolden Israel to continue its illegal practices toward Palestine and its attempts to make the occupation of Palestinian territories permanent,” it said.

The joint statement said Bahrain’s King Hamad, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump had spoken hours before announcing the new deal.

The UAE sent congratulations to Bahrain and Israel.

The Palestinians, who see Arab support as crucial to their power in resisting Israeli occupation, also condemned the Israel-Bahrain deal.

The agreement was “a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people,” said Ahmad Majdalani, the social affairs minister in the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, said it was an “aggression” that dealt “serious prejudice” to the Palestinian cause.

Palestinians fear the moves by Bahrain and the UAE will weaken a longstanding pan-Arab position that calls for Israeli withdrawal from occupied territory and acceptance of Palestinian statehood.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The United Arab Emirates’ decision to normalize ties with the Zionist regime has increased the vulnerability of Abu Dhabi in the region and would allow Israel to carry out its plot to split up the UAE, a senior adviser to the Iranian parliament speaker said.

In an interview with Al-Alam, Iranian parliament speaker’s adviser for international affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the UAE’s wrong decision and strategic mistake to normalize ties with Israel reveals that Abu Dhabi is under the influence of the US and cannot make independent decisions.

“The American and Zionist pressures caused the UAE to suffer such humiliation and commit this treason against the Palestinian nation and cause,” he added.

The Iranian official also warned that Israel’s main objective behind normalization of ties with Arab states is to have access to Arab and Islamic countries to carry out a major plot for disintegration of the region.

The American-Zionist plots entail disintegration of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Amir Abdollahian said, adding that Israel plans to partition even a small country like the UAE and create seven separate states or emirates.

The Iranian adviser warned the Emirati officials that playing in the field of the US and Israel would increase their vulnerability in the region. “It means that insecurity in the region will escalate, and escalation of insecurity could have inappropriate impacts on all regional countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He went on to say that the Emirati rulers have been thrown into great political confusion and have adopted wrong policies on the basis of trial and error, adding, “If the UAE does not rethink its ties with the Zionist regime and its policies on neighbors and the region, the Zionists who have come under the guise of peace today will push them back for tens of years.”

The United Arab Emirates and Israel announced in August they have reached a deal that will lead to a full normalization of diplomatic relations.

The move has drawn strong criticism from many Islamic countries and regional organizations.
