In a tweet late on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei added that Americans are badly mistaken should they think they “can resolve the region’s problem in this way.”

The Leader also underlined that any regime that sits at the negotiating table with Israel will lose popularity among its nation.

“Muslim nations will never accept the humiliation of compromising with the Zionist regime. If the US thinks they can solve the region’s problem in this way, they are wrong. The status of any regime that negotiates with the usurping Zionist regime will be shaken before its nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei tweeted, according to Press TV.

Ayatollah Khamenei had previously censured the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for betraying the entire Muslim world by normalizing ties with the Israeli regime, but said the betrayal would not last long.

Last month, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain signed the controversial normalization agreements with Israel at the White House, amid outrage across Palestine and the Muslim world at the Arab regimes’ betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

The deals were signed between Emirati and Bahraini Foreign Ministers, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. US President Donald Trump also penned his blessing into the accords.

Palestinians, who seek an independent state in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, with East Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital view the US-brokered deals as a “stab in the back” of Palestine.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has protested the normalization deals with the Israeli regime, insisting that they will be fruitless as long as Washington and Tel Aviv do not recognize the rights of the Palestinian nation and refuse to resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees.

Abbas has underlined that there will be no peace, security or stability for anyone in the region unless the Israeli regime ended its occupation of Palestinian lands, and Palestinians could restore their rights as stipulated in international resolutions.

The US-brokered deals make the UAE and Bahrain the third and fourth Arab states to take such steps to normalize ties since Israel signed treaties with Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.

Many Arab states say they remain committed to the so-called Arab Peace Initiative – which calls for Israel’s complete withdrawal from the Palestinian territories occupied after 1967 in exchange for peace and the full normalization of relations.

But speculation has been rife that some countries in the region would soon join the bandwagon to establish full diplomatic ties with Israel.

Etihad Airways flight EY 9607 from Abu Dhabi landed at Ben Gurion airport early in the morning with only crew on board, a spokeswoman for the Israel Airports Authority said, AFP reported.

The plane picked up Israeli tourism professionals, who would be flying to the UAE for a two-day trip visit organized by Israeli company Maman Group, the spokeswoman said.

The UAE carrier said it had made “history.”

“Etihad has become the first (Persian) Gulf airline to operate a passenger flight to Israel. And this is only the beginning,” the airline said on Twitter.

Etihad planes had landed in Ben Gurion with medical supplies in May and June to “help” the Palestinians cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

The Palestinians, who object the agreement Israel forged with the UAE, refused to receive the aid.

In August, Israel and the UAE announced that they had reached a US-brokered deal to normalize ties, following years of discreet economic and security cooperation.

The UAE and Israel were due on Tuesday to sign an agreement to have 28 weekly commercial flights, a transportation ministry official said.

In a recent virtual meeting with the prince, he said, “I believe that the focus now needs to be on getting the Palestinians and the Israelis back to the negotiating table. In the end, the only thing that can deliver lasting peace and lasting stability is an agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

“If we don’t manage to achieve that, we will continue to have that festering wound in the region. We are committed to the process of peace.

“Peace, we see, is a strategic necessity for the region. Part of that is an eventual normalization with Israel, as envisioned in the Arab peace plan.”

The prince continued, “So, we have always envisioned that normalization would happen, but we also need to have a Palestinian state and we need to have a Palestinian and Israeli peace plan.”

The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain’s move to establish normal relations with the Zionist regime is a fake and worthless show aimed at serving the US president’s reelection campaign, Iranian parliament speaker’s adviser for international affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Austria’s ambassador to Tehran.

Criticizing the White House for its “arrogant behavior” in the announcement of the UAE and Bahrain’s deals with Israel, the Iranian adviser said the US has resorted to force and coercion to oblige some Persian Gulf states to establish ties with Israel.

“If the US were not pursuing an arrogant and humiliating behavior in this regard, there would be no need for Trump’s circus on the balcony of the White House,” Amir Abdollahian added.

Bahrain has become the fourth Arab government to reach a deal with Israel after Egypt, Jordan and the UAE.

The governments of Abu Dhabi and Manama have agreed to normalize ties with Israel as part of a diplomatic push by US President Donald Trump.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has condemned the Bahrain-Israel normalization deal as another betrayal by an Arab state.

Sheikh Isa Qassim, the spiritual leader of Bahrain’s Shiite majority, said he was against normalization between Arab countries and Israel, in a statement published by Bahraini opposition party al-Wefaq, Reuters reported.

The accords between Israel and the UAE last month, and between Israel and Bahrain on Friday, go against the will of the people, he said.

“There is a great divergence between the rulers and the ruled in thought, mind, aims and interests. Governments are experiencing a psychological defeat and want to impose it on the people, and the people have to resist this defeat,” Qassim said.

A joint statement by a group of Bahraini political and civil society associations, including the Bahrain Bar Association, on Sunday also stood against the deal.

“What results from normalization will not enjoy popular backing, in line with what generations of Bahrainis have been brought up on in terms of adherence to the Palestinian cause,” the statement said.

The head of Bahrain’s highest court ordered judiciary employees not to criticize government policy or express opinions harming national unity, al-Bilad newspaper reported on Sunday.

Bahrainis have previously criticized their government’s engagements with Israel, including last June’s conference in Manama to launch a US-led $50 billion economic formula for Israeli-Palestinian peace.

Parliament last April joined social media calls to stop Israeli business and government officials attending an international entrepreneurship conference. The delegation did not attend.

Speaking at a Saturday session of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, Rouhani denounced the decision made by the UAE to align itself with the “enemy of the Islamic world, the enemy of the region, and murderer of the Palestinian nation.”

“The UAE has made a very big mistake, and we hope that they (Emirati officials) would reverse their approach and realize that this is the wrong path,” he added.

The Iranian president warned the UAE not to allow Israel to gain a foothold in the region, or it will be treated differently.

He expressed hope that Abu Dhabi would regret making such a grave mistake and taking the treacherous move, and would reverse its decision.

This is treason against the cause of Palestine and Muslim people when the authorities of an Islamic country establish ties with the Zionist regime and believe that siding with the US and Israel would ensure their security and economic growth, Rouhani added.

The United Arab Emirates and Israel announced on Thursday they have reached a deal that will lead to full normalization of diplomatic relations.

The move has drawn strong criticism from many Islamic countries and regional organizations.
