TEHRAN (Iran News) – A former official at the United Nations condemned the US-mediated normalization agreements that the regimes in Manama and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed with Israel, describing them as “political and moral betrayals” of the Palestinian resistance.

“These normalization agreements are certainly political and moral betrayals of the Palestinian struggle, although their legal status of these agreements is more controversial as many other states have long established normal relations with Israel and the Arab pledge to defer normalization until a peace agreement was reached seems to be a voluntary arrangement rather than an international obligation,” Professor Richard A. Falk told Qods International News Agency.

He added, “The moral betrayal involves breaking the pledge and according a measure of legitimation and material benefits to Israeli despite its subjugation and abuse of the Palestinian people as a whole, and even more, by its deliberate creation of conditions that make it almost inconceivable to envision peace coming about by fulfilling the expectation of a sovereign Palestine existing with 1967 borders”.

Praising Iran’s support for the cause of Palestine, Falk, who is the author or co-author of 20 books and the editor or co-editor of another 20 volumes, said, “From what I know, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently supported a just outcome of the Palestinian struggle, which has been interpreted by the government in Tehran to require the abandonment of the Zionist insistence on the establishment of an exclusivist Jewish ethnic state in the non-Jewish society of Palestine”.

“Iran has been steadfast in its solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for basic rights despite paying a high price by being made the target of unlawful and aggressive behavior by Israel and its backers, including threats, sanctions, and an array of covert operations causing destabilization, and even regime change”, he added.

In a statement, the ministry also condemned, in the strongest terms, the UAE and Bahrain’s agreements to normalize relations with the Zionist entity, considering normalization a total betrayal of the central Arab cause, and a stab in the back of the Palestinian people, and the Arab and Islamic nation.

The statement indicated that the tendency of some Arab regimes to normalize ties with the Zionist entity under American auspices will not achieve security for these regimes or bring peace into the Middle East. Rather, it will provoke people’s discontent with those regimes, and threaten security and stability in the region and the world.

The statement added that the main goal of normalization is to achieve political gains for the American and Zionist administrations, al-Masirah TV reported.

The normalization that took place is between the Zionist entity and the puppet regimes of America, not with the free Persian Gulf and Arab peoples who stand by the rights of the children of the usurped Palestinian people, it underlined.

The statement called on the Palestinians to unite ranks and reject differences to face the plots being hatched against the Palestinian cause.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, strongly denounced Bahrain’s normalization deal with Israel, describing it as “unacceptable” and “another product of the Arab League’s weakness”.

“What the Kingdom of Bahrain did and announced on Friday, in terms of its agreement with the Zionist entity on a so-called peace and normalization deal, is considered a disgrace into which another country of the Arab nation has fallen, and a political setback and a major mistake by the Bahraini rulers,” Hamas said in a press release on Friday, the Palestinian Information Center said.

The movement also described the Bahrain-Israel deal as “a real threat to the security of the Arab region and injurious to the Palestinian cause.”

“Such series of steps, which were initiated by the Emirati rulers and then the Bahraini rulers, are deemed political crimes and reflect a dismal failure in reading the Zionist tendencies towards the region, and they would contribute to endorsing the deal of the century and undermining the foundations of the Arab solidarity,” Hamas said.

“In light of this agreement — which would not have been made without the fragile position of the Arab League — we assert our condemnation and rejection of this Bahraini-American declaration and we consider it a new treacherous stab in the back of the Palestinian people, an act of betrayal against Palestine and Jerusalem, and a step in the opposite direction of the interests of Bahrain and the Arab and Muslim nations,” Hamas underlined.

The deal comes one month after the UAE and the Tel Aviv regime agreed to normalize ties under a US-brokered deal.

Bahrain will join Israel and the UAE for a signing ceremony at the White House hosted by Trump on September 15. The Israel-UAE ceremony will be attended by Netanyahu and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Following the announcement of the Israeli-Bahraini normalization deal, Palestine recalled its ambassador to Manama for consultations, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

Munir al-Jaghoub, who heads Fatah’s Information Department in the Office of Mobilization and Organization, also slammed Friday’s normalization deal between Israel and Bahrain, lambasting Arab rulers for having attached their continued grip on power to the US administration.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement also deplored the Israel-Bahrain normalization deal announced by US President Donald Trump, stating that the agreement exhibits the Manama regime’s capitulation to Washington.

“The agreement reflects the US custody of Bahrain. The Bahraini and his government act upon US instructions and orders,” Dawood Shihab, a spokesman for the movement, said in an interview with Lebanon-based and Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news network on Friday night.
