TEHRAN (Iran News) Netanyahu, who is on trial in three separate cases involving charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, has consistently denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty. The cases were filed in 2019.

“The Office of the President is aware that this is an extraordinary request which carries with it significant implications,” Herzog’s office said in a statement. “After receiving all of the relevant opinions, the president will responsibly and sincerely consider the request.”

The pardon appeal comes amid international attention on the long-running legal proceedings.

Earlier in November, Herzog received a letter from US President Donald Trump urging him to pardon Netanyahu, who is also the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court over war crimes in Gaza.

Trump had previously voiced support for a pardon during an address to the Israeli parliament in October.

Netanyahu Will Never Be Saved

TEHRAN (Iran News) Trump announced the plan for ending the Gaza war after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom the article calls the “tyrant of Israel.”

The plan states: “Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza or the occupied territories.”

In line with this proposal, the White House released a statement declaring:

“Gaza will become a region free of extremism and terrorism, posing no threat to its neighbors. Furthermore, within 72 hours of Israel’s formal acceptance of the agreement, all captives—both living and deceased—will be returned.”

The plan further stipulates: “After the release of all captives, Israel will free 250 prisoners serving life sentences, in addition to 1,700 prisoners from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023.”

The White House emphasized: “The United States will facilitate dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to reach an agreement on a political horizon for peaceful coexistence and public well-being.”

According to the White House and Trump’s proposal, if both sides agree to the plan, the war will end immediately.

In addition, Trump gave Hamas a deadline until 6 p.m. Washington time on Sunday to accept his ceasefire proposal for Gaza, claiming that the plan could save the lives of the remaining Hamas fighters.

He warned that if this final opportunity for agreement is missed, a “hell” will be unleashed against Hamas, unlike anything ever seen before.”

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has delivered its formal, conditional response to Trump’s Gaza proposal to the mediating countries. In other words, Hamas has communicated its position on the 20-point plan through intermediaries.

Hamas expressed support for certain provisions of the proposal but has requested clarification and revisions to vague clauses—such as Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas.

According to Qaddoumi, Hamas’s representative in Tehran, who spoke in a news interview, the movement presented its conditional response after consultations with its own leaders, other Palestinian groups, and mediators.

From a review of Trump’s 20-point plan, one can infer that it has two sides of the same coin:

On one side, it is a peace-seeking response to the global media-driven wave of outrage against the Israeli regime, portraying Trump as a supposedly impartial arbiter and champion of peace.

On the other side, it seeks to rescue the severely deteriorating situation of the Israeli regime and Netanyahu, who is deeply mired in internal crises—while creating a staged media confrontation to make it appear as though Netanyahu is being forced to accept the plan.

Regardless of what future this plan and its conditional acceptance by Palestinian fighters, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, may hold for Gaza, it is clear that this maneuver will not save Netanyahu, Trump, the Israeli regime, or their supporters—whose hands are stained with the blood of Gaza’s children, women, and innocents—even if they attempt to decorate Trump with the medal of a “peace-maker.”

When Netanyahu Came, Everyone Left

TEHRAN (Iran News) This scene captured a vivid image of the growing isolation of the Zionist regime on the international stage, especially in the wake of operations described as genocide in Gaza.

One of the most powerful images in international diplomacy is that of “empty seats.” This image does not speak through shouting, but with the eloquence of absent presence and resounding silence.

As Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, began his speech, the main hall of the General Assembly emptied dramatically in less than a minute. Reports and photos indicated that representatives of more than a hundred countries present at the session left the hall. This action, a “symbolic collective boycott,” sent a clear and unprecedented message about the regime’s status in international institutions.

The emptying of the UN hall by the overwhelming majority of countries was not a mere simple protest. This move should be interpreted as a clear sign of the “diplomatic isolation” of the Zionist mentality.

When representatives of dozens of countries, including many Arab, Islamic, African, Asian, and even some Latin American nations, refuse to listen to the leader of Israel, it reflects the depth of global dissatisfaction with the policies of this illegitimate regime. This event shows that the Palestinian issue is no longer a marginal topic but has become a central concern in the international community, creating a broad consensus against Israel’s actions.

This action was a form of “indirect yet very powerful condemnation.” By leaving the hall, countries openly declared their position without needing to issue strong statements or engage in debates and disputes. They demonstrated that they not only oppose the content of Netanyahu’s speech but also question the political legitimacy of the speech itself, delivered by the representative of an illegitimate regime under scrutiny for repeated violations of international law and UN resolutions.

This boycott in silence, in a situation where no practical measures are being taken to stop these crimes, spoke louder this year than any words or actions could.

This event occurred in a specific context: the unprecedented escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip and the high number of civilian casualties, including women and children. Reports by human rights organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, which accused Israel of committing war crimes, had deeply influenced global public opinion. The emptying of the UN hall reflected the anger and disgust of the international community toward these developments. This act amounted to a collective vote of confidence in support of the Palestinian people and against Israel’s narrative.

Although the United States and some of Israel’s close European allies remained in the hall, the mass departure of other countries demonstrated that the traditional “unconditional support” for Israel is breaking and fragmenting.

Even some of Israel’s traditional allies, while staying in the hall, have adopted more critical positions. This scene clearly showed that the foundations of international support for Israel are weakening and that the diplomatic cost of continuing its current policies is increasing dramatically for this corrupt regime. In fact, this action strengthens the legitimacy and diplomatic standing of Palestine in international institutions and shows that their calls for justice have gained global attention. It places Israel under unprecedented psychological and diplomatic pressure and warns its leaders that continuing the status quo will only deepen their isolation.

From another perspective, this event represents a significant shift in global discourse. Criticism of Israel’s policies, once considered taboo, has now become a more widely accepted position among the majority of countries in the world.

Overall, the emptying of the UN General Assembly hall during the speech of the prime minister of this regime created a historic and memorable moment. This was not merely a symbolic protest but a tangible manifestation of a geopolitical shift. The decline of the legitimacy of Zionism in the eyes of the majority of the international community, embodied by those empty seats, was a silent yet powerful cry against a regime whose actions and policies are unacceptable to the world.

This move sent a clear message to Israel: that military solutions and disregard for the rights of Palestinians will only increase its isolation and the international condemnations it faces.

Trump and Netanyahu discuss forced transfer of Palestinians out of Gaza

TEHRAN (Iran News)U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a meeting at the White House, discussed their controversial proposal to forcibly transfer thousands of Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip.

Trump and Netanyahu met for dinner in the Blue Room of the White House on Monday.

The meeting took place as indirect talks in Qatar between Israel and Hamas on a U.S.-backed proposal for a 60-day ceasefire to halt the 22-month war appeared to gather some momentum.

Trump, who earlier this year caused outrage when he floated his idea of relocating Palestinians and taking over the Strip to turn it into a “Riviera of the Middle East,” said there had been “great cooperation” on the matter from “surrounding countries.”

Trump and Netanyahu met as Israeli and Hamas negotiators held a second day of indirect talks in Qatar, seated in different rooms in the same building. Proposals for a 60-day pause in fighting envisage a phased release of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners, Israeli military withdrawals from parts of Gaza, and discussions on completely ending the war.

But a sticking point is whether the ceasefire will end the war altogether. Hamas has said it is willing to free all the prisoners in exchange for all Palestinian prisoners and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

Netanyahu, however, says the war will end once Hamas surrenders, disarms, and goes into exile, a condition the Palestinian group has dismissed as a nonstarter.

Ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to the U.S., Trump predicted that a ceasefire deal could be reached this week.

TEHRAN (Iran News) United States President Donald Trump has reportedly decided to break off direct contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over manipulation concerns.

Yanir Cozin, a correspondent for Israeli Army Radio, said in a post on his X account on Thursday that the U.S. president made the decision after close associates told Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer that he believes Netanyahu is manipulating him.

Cozin cited the Netanyahu administration’s failure to present a concrete plan regarding Iran, Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, and Gaza as the reason behind the worsening Trump-Netanyahu relationship.

Anadolu news agency quoted an Israeli official as saying that Dermer’s tone during recent talks with top Republican figures about what Trump should do was seen as “arrogant” and “unhelpful.”

The official said that people around Trump told him that “Netanyahu was manipulating him.”

“There is nothing Trump hates more than being portrayed as a fool or someone being played. That’s why he decided to cut contact with Netanyahu,” the official added.

The report comes as Iran and the United States have held three rounds of indirect talks on the former’s nuclear program. Iran has condemned attempts by others, particularly Netanyahu, to sabotage the negotiations.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has held Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for prolonging the war in the Gaza Strip and obstructing the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement.

Hamas, in a statement on Saturday, pointed to the growing calls within the occupying regime to end the war and release prisoners, saying they were clear evidence of Netanyahu’s direct role in dragging the war and intensifying the suffering of both Palestinians and Israeli prisoners.

The Palestinian group said that Netanyahu was shedding the blood of children in Gaza and its prisoners to serve his political objectives of remaining in power and avoiding his corruption trial.

Hamas emphasized that its call for an end to the war in exchange for the release of prisoners has gained global support, yet Netanyahu remains the sole obstacle to its implementation.

It warned that each day of delay in ending the war would result in further casualties among Palestinian civilians and worsen the plight of prisoners.

The statement followed petitions signed by hundreds of military reservists, officers, doctors, and academics in the occupied territories, urging an immediate end to the war in Gaza.

Out of character, Trump trivializes Netanyahu

TEHRAN (Iran News) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s eyes twinkled, even if he seemed less typically histrionic, as he arrived at the White House for a hastily-arranged meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, their second in just over two months.

Last time he visited, it was barely weeks since Trump had made a comeback to the office, and the Israeli prime minister was the first foreign leader who was meeting with the newly sworn-in president.

As in February, Netanyahu became on Monday the first foreign leader to meet with Trump since the U.S. president introduced steep tariffs against almost all of America’s trade partners, including Israel.

Unlike then, the Israeli prime minister was unpleasantly surprised, patronized, and belittled by Trump. The treatment was extraordinary given that the Israeli leader had been going to great lengths to curry favor with the U.S. president. It also marked a shift from Trump’s last term, when Netanyahu found a more malleable ally at the White House.

Netanyahu’s iter horribilis of course began before he set foot in the United States, when his aircraft reportedly had to take a longer route to avoid the airspace of countries that could enforce an arrest warrant against the Israeli prime minister issued by the International Criminal Court for possible crimes against humanity over the war in Gaza.

At the White House, it took a nosedive.

There, to his chagrin, Netanyahu was informed that the United States was going to hold talks with Iran.

A joint press conference by the U.S. president and the Israeli prime minister was abruptly canceled, and when the two appeared at the Oval Office for a question-and-answer session with reporters, Netanyahu was “strangely quiet” as Trump spoke, according to The New York Times.

“We’re having direct talks with Iran and they’ve started, it’ll go on Saturday,” the U.S. president claimed.

“I think everybody agrees that doing a deal would be preferable to doing the obvious. And the obvious is not something that I want to be involved with,” he added, referring to potential military strikes against Iranian sites, Israel’s preferred option.

Netanyahu said nothing at that point. Trump, “voluble and dominating, barely let him get a word in,” The New York times wrote.

Just two months earlier, and on the back of what he saw as a triumphant year for Israel, Netanyahu had urged Trump to “finish the job” against Iran by taking out its nuclear facilities.

At the White House on Monday, Trump also refused to commit to removing tariffs of 17% that he has newly imposed on Israel, even though Netanyahu had preemptively canceled Israel’s remaining tariffs on imports from the United States on April 1 and as he promised to Trump that he would eliminate the trade deficit with the United States.

In justifying his refusal to remove the tariffs on Israel, Trump was not specially friendly. “Don’t forget, we help Israel a lot. We give Israel $4 billion a year, that’s a lot,” he said.

During his February visit to the White House, Netanyahu had watched gleefully as Trump looked poised to escalate with Iran, and the Israeli prime minister described the U.S. president as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House.” Back then, the U.S. president signed a presidential memo to restore “maximum pressure” on Iran, a relic of his first term (2017-2021).

In those four years, Netanyahu often seemed to have Trump’s ear like no other foreign official. Cheered on by the Israeli prime minister, Trump pulled the United States from a multinational deal with Iran, imposed “maximum pressure” on the country, and ordered the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani. If it wasn’t merely one of his public displays of affinity for the U.S. president, Netanyahu had reason to describe Trump in overly friendly terms as the latter took office for a second term.

But, in the span of two months, or perhaps four years, the odds seem to have changed for the Israeli prime minister — at least momentarily. As for his adulation for Trump, all he called the U.S. incumbent at the White House on Monday was “a remarkable friend” of Israel.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The White House has instructed the Pentagon to lift the hold on the supply of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, according to three Israeli officials speaking to Axios.

President Joe Biden’s decision to pause the shipment of these bombs last May sparked a significant crisis in US-Israel relations during the 15-month Gaza conflict.

The Pentagon informed the Israeli government about lifting the ban on Friday.

The Biden administration was concerned that Israel’s use of 2,000-pound bombs in densely populated Gaza would lead to substantial civilian casualties.

Netanyahu and his supporters in both Israel and the US used Biden’s decision to claim, inaccurately, that there was a US arms embargo on Israel.

TEHRAN (Iran News) According to the Israeli channel 12, 27% of the Israeli settlers are against Netanyahu’s resignation.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv in an opinion poll announced that %62 of the Israelis held Netanyahu responsible for the security failure on October 7, 2023.

Those who participated in this poll believe that like Chief of the General Staff of the Israel military forces Herzi Halevi, Netanyahu should be held accountable and resign.

Earlier on January 22, Zionist sources announced that the Director of Israel’s Security Agency (Shin Bet) Ronen Bar is likely to resign.

Shortly after Halevi’s announcement, the head of the Israeli military’s southern command, Yaron Finkelman, also announced his resignation.

In the meantime, the head of the opposition party Yisrael Beitenu, Avigdor Liberman, called on Netanyahu and the rest of the cabinet ministers “to take responsibility and follow in the footsteps of Halevi.”

Halevi is the most senior Israeli figure to resign over the failure to stop Operation Al-Aqsa Storm led by Hamas, in which about 1,200 Israeli military personnel and illegal settlers were killed and 250 others were taken prisoner.
